I have been thinking of doing this diet for the last 2 -3 weeks and came across this site when I was researching on CD. I have read loads of diaries and finally am prepared mentally to embark this journey as have seen a lot of support and motivation provided within the group and hope I will get the support on my journey.

A little bit about myself. I HAD been a healthy eater and HAD watched my weight. Last 2 years not sure what happend I have just piled on a lot of wait and my healthy eating has gone out of the window. I just am always craving for junk fook like dominos pizza take away noodles cup cakes and the list goes on.

I want to break out of this habit and go back to my normal self. My OH has really maintained himself and I look really oversized next to him.

I am currently weighing 146LB as of today. My target is to loose around 35 - 40 LB to get to my ideal weight.

This is my plan I hope I can stick to it as dieting has never been my thing but I am determined to go ahead and do this.

The Plan
Stick to SS for 5 weeks.
Take a break over Easter
Move to 810 for 2 weeks - Should have reached target weight of between - 106lb - 111lb
Step up to the next plan and add excercise for 5 weeks.
Complete 10KM run on the 19 May 2012
Break for 2 weeks from 25 May as am on holiday.
See if I have changed my eating habits and decide if CD is needed or not.

Goals:
Complete Day 1
Complete Day 2
Complete Day 3
Complete Day 4
Complete Week 1

I have stareted today 01.03.2012 so my 5 weeks will take me to 04.04.2012.

Let the journey begin and I will try and keep my diary updated everyday with my ups and downs with CD.
 
Thanks. Yes we should keep each other motivated and be honest. I know its a long and hard journely but we should not try and have a blip. Think its better to go to 810 than have a blip.
 
yes i agree, at least with ss we can add a small meal if we are really craving food! also, if you really feel like caving in on sole source alone, just have plain chicken as this will keep you in ketosis. i did the Atkins diet a while back for a week and lost 8lbs by eating meats mainly chicken so I know that this will work if you have a 'blip' :)
 
I am a vegetarian so will have to stick to all quorn n soya products. My main concern is weekends.

Will have to take it a day at a time.
 
ah right food choices are a bit different for you then. my counsellor said she is a fan of celeriac which is on the list of foods allowed on SS+, apparently it's like a swede, you can peel it and mash it or chip it into chips and bake in the oven, it tastes like parsnip according to her but you feel as if you're having something naughty because of the chip shapes!

Your ideal weight seems very low (to me, anyway!). Am I right to guess that you're not very tall? ;)

(your start weight is my dream weight, LOL)

This site is an addiction. I am 5ft 3inch and if i get down to 111lb that's 50kg and 106lb is 48kg. I have always weight between these weights and that has been a healthy weight for my height range.

I really want to get back to my size 8 I have so many clothes waiting to be worn.
 
So I had my second shake at 2.30pm. Love the banana shake.

Have had 2 litres of water already.

Left to have my last shake do will have that around 6pm and I am done for the day with the water and my shakes and just read some diaries after washing up.

You'll rage at me for saying this, but strictly speaking, you shouldn't be allowed to start SS unless you have a BMI of 25 plus one stone. Your BMI is currently 25.8 - for you to have a BMI of 25.0, you'd need to weigh 141lbs. So - if your Cambridge Counsellor was playing by the rules, she should've put you straight on to 810.

As I said, you're probably grumbling at me now - but there is a reason for this. Once your BMI dips below 25.0 there is a chance you'll burn more of your own lean muscle mass than is ideal. That's not good for all sorts of reasons, not least that the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolic rate.

So... I can see that a Cambridge Counsellor might be persuaded to let you do SS for a week or 2. But if he/she's not making noises about you moving up to 810 by then, then I'd worry about whether your Counsellor has your best interests at heart.

I fully understand and accept that being a size 8 is your natural and preferred size, by the way (LOL, I can only dream of getting there!). But you'd probably lose weight just as quickly on 810, which would be a much safer plan for you to be on.

Sorry to be the spoilsport here - but I wouldn't be me if I didn't comment on this (it's just the nosey so and so I am, forgive me :eek:).

Thanks for looking out for me. I am new into this and the only research i did was which diet to choose and I noticed people had done well on this. My CD has allowed me to start on this maybe later on in a week or 2 might ask me to step it up. I have made my own plan and it may not be the case of me following it thy way now that you mentioned I have to do 810. I will see what she says when i go for my weigh in.

Get back into size 8 but it's not happens and my sizes have just gone to 10 than 12 and now a 14.

It's hit me hard and last 6 months I have been a disaster. The winter hits me really hard.
 
So that's day 1 for me over an done with. Had 3 shakes and just over 2.25l of water

Went for a walk as usually try and walk everyday jus for 30mins just to get some fresh air and clear the mind.

I have got a headache not sure it's cause of the diet or due to the fact I did not sleep well last night. May be a combination of both.

So I am glad I have achieved my first goal.
Hopefully Incan achieve the other 3 left. I guess only time will tell.
 
Good morning and I welcome day 3 with open arms.

Strange how I feel more energetic without food and how I slept well with no caffeine in my diet. I had no idea I would feel like this in the morning. I thought I would be tired and drained but I am glad I am not.

Let's see how this energetic day will last.
 
hey skinnys, sounds like you are getting into ketosis with the energy boost, excellent! the sooner you are in ketosis the better because you will feel more energetic and more importantly, less hungry and won't be craving naughty foods! it's your 3rd day today so your weigh in must be tuesday is that right? mine's weds so bit behind you but good that we're almost the same to keep track!

Hey I hope thy is the case. Not a very good day today as been out and by had the chance WTO have my shakes so just had 2 shakes. Not had enf water either just 1.5l but I guess should be back on track tomorrow with 3 shakes.

As I was out most day could not drink much as toilets were not going to be available but I guess the important thing is that stuck to the diet.

How's everyones day been? Worried how I will survive the weekends.
 
hey, how did ur first weekend go? mine wasn't too bad, only thing was my OH had a MASSIVE chinese, and I mean massive, it looked lush! couldnt bear to be around it so I just went to bed early!! I have been extra good though, went to cinema yesterday and my friend brought mini eggs (she doesnt know i'm on the diet) and i didnt have a single one so really pleased with that!!
 
Hey my first weekend was a disaster and that's my fault. My OH and i had to go to Birmingham as my Father in law was admitted to hospital so we left and I forgot my shakes. I trued to survive on water and had some come zero but at night I jus gave in and had jus 2 small slices of pizza. We ended up staying in Bham so again on Sunday had to be off plan.
I am back on it today but disappointed with myself that I left my shakes. Next time no panic and think first what is needed for myself.

I did not end up eating like crazy jus ha very small portions to keep me going but I am
Out of ketosis but I hope to have a good loss on Thursday.
 
dont worry these things happen, it can't be helped given the situation i'm sure you'll get back into ketosis soon enough if you stick to your diet. are you sure you're defo out of ketosis, did you wee on a stick?? what I would suggest is that you maybe but a few extra packs in case you ever need to rush off somewhere quick in future and keep them in your bag so that you know you'll always have a back up. i've left a few tetras in work so that I know that if i forget anything in the morning at least i've got a tetra and can keep going on water too if i'm really struggling. it's good you only had a small amount of pizza too, shows great restraint on your part, well done! x
 
That's a good idea. I will leave my shaker and a few shakes in the car so if ever anything like this happens I am covered. When you on panic mode you just don't think. We did not even take clothes as we were going to come back sat nite but that did not happen next day went to adds and got something for us to wear. Something cheap and cheerful.
 
I am so glad today is over. Been a real struggle suffering with stomach cramps and cravings. Can't wait for thursday where I am over with TOM and get focused.

Today I had my 3 shakes and I had a coke zero and 2 quorn sausages as was really struggling and needed the coke zero and sausages to keep me going. I did not want to stop the diet and thought i can do the 810 step and see how I feel which I am glad I completed.

Might do the same tomorrow if I am still not feeling a 100%. As long as I stick to SS or SS+ i am happy.
