Have you ever weighed how much say, pasta, rice, potatoes etc you do have? As much as I love SW I think as people get closer to targets these are the foods (all the carbs!) that do need tweaked or looked at if people plateau. I also do mostly red days, being diabetic I just find it easier for me - I will have the odd EE day but my losses are definitely slower then.
Also have you changed exercise regime or anything - my weight does funny things when I first start exercising etc because it's to do with water retention etc. Also how are your clothes feeling? 0.5lb really is nothing in the grand scheme compared to what you have lost.....do you measure inches as well as looking at the scales?
I hope you have a great week, sometimes a binge is just what is needed - here's to a good loss! xxx
I've never weighed it in the past, but I think in the back of my mind I've always probably known I was eating too much. I know they say free food is unlimited - but that's to an extent. You should only eat until you are full, which is something I often struggle with. As I say, it's very rare I will leave anything on my plate, regardless of if I'm full up or not. I did start last week and weigh out a portion of pasta, rather than just chucking in a couple of handfuls. I read that an average 1 person serving of pasta (dried) is about 75g. So I think I'll continue to weigh out pasta when having it. Maybe also limit myself to two potatos worth of chips when I have them, as thats another thing I tend to overdo. Just a few thoughts anyway, it's worth a try.
I don't exercise. I went swimming twice two weeks ago, about 1 hours swim in total. And that week I maintained. I never do well when I exercise. A long time ago I used to go to classes every night, but my weight losses slowed right down. That, combined with lack of time made me want to give them up, so I stopped going. Anyway, as I say, did some swimming two weeks ago and maintained. Did nothing three weeks ago and lost. Did nothing this week and gained. I just can't seem to win either way.
I don't measure inches, just because I never have done from the start. It would mean nothing to me, because I don't know what my starting measurements were. Also, Slimming World works by being weighed each week. So that's my focus. I need to see those scales moving (in the right direction!!!) each week, otherwise my hard work has all been for nothing. I understand what you are saying about it not always being about the numbers on the scales, but for me it is. That's just the mindset I have unfortunately.
I know half a lb doesn't seem like a lot, but when you have worked so hard all week. Tried everything you possibly could to improve from a maintain the week before, and you are then told you have gained. It's a pretty big kick in the teeth. To me it feels like it may as well have been half a stone!
I do appreciate all of these comments, even if it doesn't seem like I'm taking any of it in. I am, it's just incredibly hard for me to get out of the mindset that I am in. We are all differernt aren't we? I can't thank everyone enough for the support though. And apologies once again for being so miserable and moany xxx
