The Princess Diaries ♥ 2014 will be the year I earn my crown (ok, Target badge)!

From looking at your IG pics I wouldn't have said you have big portions at all! You have pretty light breakfast and lunches so I don't see the problem in having a nice big plate at tea! Worth a try though hun :) X

Hmm, I do think portion size is one thing I could do with looking at though, as I do think I maybe eat too much. I will never leave anything on my plate, even if I'm full I will keep eating until it's finished. Which is kind of defeating the object. So I'm thinking that by reducing what I put on my plate will force me to then stop when I actually am full, rather than keep on eating just because it's there.

If that makes sense? I am just getting desperate and trying to think of anything which could get the ball rolling again if I am honest!! x

Go on lass! Great plan for the week, can't wait to see your eats for the next week (As always I'll be pinching your ideas because your food is delish!)

Have a great day :) xxx

Have you ever weighed how much say, pasta, rice, potatoes etc you do have? As much as I love SW I think as people get closer to targets these are the foods (all the carbs!) that do need tweaked or looked at if people plateau. I also do mostly red days, being diabetic I just find it easier for me - I will have the odd EE day but my losses are definitely slower then.

Also have you changed exercise regime or anything - my weight does funny things when I first start exercising etc because it's to do with water retention etc. Also how are your clothes feeling? 0.5lb really is nothing in the grand scheme compared to what you have lost.....do you measure inches as well as looking at the scales?

I hope you have a great week, sometimes a binge is just what is needed - here's to a good loss! xxx

I've never weighed it in the past, but I think in the back of my mind I've always probably known I was eating too much. I know they say free food is unlimited - but that's to an extent. You should only eat until you are full, which is something I often struggle with. As I say, it's very rare I will leave anything on my plate, regardless of if I'm full up or not. I did start last week and weigh out a portion of pasta, rather than just chucking in a couple of handfuls. I read that an average 1 person serving of pasta (dried) is about 75g. So I think I'll continue to weigh out pasta when having it. Maybe also limit myself to two potatos worth of chips when I have them, as thats another thing I tend to overdo. Just a few thoughts anyway, it's worth a try.

I don't exercise. I went swimming twice two weeks ago, about 1 hours swim in total. And that week I maintained. I never do well when I exercise. A long time ago I used to go to classes every night, but my weight losses slowed right down. That, combined with lack of time made me want to give them up, so I stopped going. Anyway, as I say, did some swimming two weeks ago and maintained. Did nothing three weeks ago and lost. Did nothing this week and gained. I just can't seem to win either way.

I don't measure inches, just because I never have done from the start. It would mean nothing to me, because I don't know what my starting measurements were. Also, Slimming World works by being weighed each week. So that's my focus. I need to see those scales moving (in the right direction!!!) each week, otherwise my hard work has all been for nothing. I understand what you are saying about it not always being about the numbers on the scales, but for me it is. That's just the mindset I have unfortunately.

I know half a lb doesn't seem like a lot, but when you have worked so hard all week. Tried everything you possibly could to improve from a maintain the week before, and you are then told you have gained. It's a pretty big kick in the teeth. To me it feels like it may as well have been half a stone!

I do appreciate all of these comments, even if it doesn't seem like I'm taking any of it in. I am, it's just incredibly hard for me to get out of the mindset that I am in. We are all differernt aren't we? I can't thank everyone enough for the support though. And apologies once again for being so miserable and moany xxx

I'm a serial weigher too (when I am on SW properly lol) I used to go to a group but can't at the moment so am going it alone with the help of this place too! I know what it's like to focus on the scales, I do it too, but overall health is too....the exercise probably won't make immediate impact but is one of the best things you can do to keep your metabolism burning faster and more efficiently.

Says me that hasn't been out a run for a loooong time but know I need to aswell, lol.

My losses were erratic when I started SW too and I had some really undeserved maintains and small gains and know how sh*t it is. Have faith though - it will budge again! x

Have just decided that I'm going to make a nice soup tonight for lunches this week!

I'm going to go to Tesco when I finish work for a bit of shopping, and after having BNS last week I remembered the roasted BNS and red pepper soup I used to make.

Lunches were the one thing I was struggling to think of on my food plan - I struggle with them more when I am doing EE, as you only get the one lot of HEx's. So I think soup will be a good idea, and also the fact that it will be purely SuperFree.

Do you ever read other people's diaries for lunch inspiration? I think with EE or even just SW in general that it's preparation that is key.

Do you have access to a microwave at work? I normally make a bit too much of all my meals and freeze the leftovers which then make perfect lunches if you take out the night before and reheat in a microwave at work xx

I do, but I'm quite fussy with what I eat. I also know I would get totally bored if I was eating last nights tea again for lunch, I like variety and don't often have the same meal twice in one week. I could freeze them, like you say, and have them the following week, but I'm also not a massive eater. I tend to have a decent breakfast, a light lunch and then a biggish tea. Theres a massive difference between what I eat for lunches and what I eat for teas - lunches will be salad, vegetable crudites and dip, crispbreads, etc. Whereas dinners are "proper" meals like pasta, shepherds pie, etc. If I was to eat a dinner at lunch time I'd not be able to manage anything afterwards! And I already receive quite a lot of criticism for not eating enough lol.

I agree that Slimming World requires a lot of preperation, and that is something I dedicate a lot of time to each week. I always sit down on a Tuesday night / Wednesday morning and plan what I'm going to eat every day of that week. Which is why it pees me off so much that after so much time and effort put in, I seem to be getting very little (or worse than that - gains!!!) back out.

Sorry to keep moaning. People will start avoiding my diary before long! xx

I just thought maybe it was something you could revisit. By freezing them, you don't have to have it the next day but the next week like you said.

You could make them into smaller portions for lunches or what I often do is have it with salad and fruit rather than with potato/pasta etc... e.g. I made a caveman stew last week which made 4 portions... I split a portion and had it for 2 lunches, once with fruit and salad instead and another time with half the amount of potatoes cooked in a different way to make it not-so-"samey". I often just have a bowl of quorn chilli on it's own with salad or fruit rather than with any carbs on EE days.

I once heard a saying that you're meant to "eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch and a pauper for dinner" - maybe you could even try having the bigger meal at lunch and lighter one in the evening just to see if that kickstarts things again for you.

I would never debate the effort you put into SW as it's so obvious that you've been 100% on plan, 100% of the time for weeks now and it must be devastating not getting the results you deserve. You mentioned last night/earlier today that you don't know what else you could do and I thought maybe that was something you could explore and try out to see if it helps.

Good luck x

I can't say anymore than what everyone else has said. I think your plan of action for the week ahead is great though. I really do feel for you because there are people in my own group who have had similar things happen on the s ales and it's just not nice to see hard work not pay off. But I do believe 100% in the plan and I know you do too so praying for a good week for you in which you get something back for everything you put in. xx

I'm sitting on the fence with portion control, but one thing I did think when you say you'll continue eating even if you're full, perhaps this is what has caused you bother lately. SW (as you'll know) say to stop eating when full, yep I agree with your tactic. In fact I'm pleased you've done a plan for next week, I didn't really expect anything less of you, you're determined to lose the weight & will do what you can to succeed x

Hmmm I really don't know about portion control, I see your meals on IG daily and sometimes your portions look on the smaller side, rather than bigger like you're thinking! I don't think you're eating too much but your body might be getting complacent, a bit bored of the same thing! I think extra easy and daily syns is the best thing for now. Hopefully the cheat meal works, it certainly seems to work for me when I need it! X

Oops. Feeling pretty guilty this morning. My scales are now 11st 2lb, which is another 2lb on from Tuesday night!! That "cheat night" really did some damage, hey? Oh well, not much I can do now but continue to stick to plan, in the hope of doing some damage limitation, if nothing else!

Actually enjoyed my EE day yesterday. I ended up making a gorgeous chicken, bacon and leek risotto for tea. Was going to have bolognese but didn't fancy it, so having that tonight instead! Also made my soup for lunches the next few days.

This is how today is looking...

Your soup sounds delicious! Definitely getting a butternut squash this week on my food shop.

I used to make it quite a while ago, but haven't done for ages! Then when I had my BNS with chicken kebabs and then bolognese a few days last week it reminded me. I can't wait for lunch now. It's quite sweet, put I put lots of garlic and chilli in with it for a nice kick x

I love anything like that. I'll give it a go this next week.
I keep finding loads of ideas, not sure i'm going to have time to eat them all lol

Mmm I love BNS soup.

never mind if the scales are up, they'll come down again before next week man! X

I really hope so. But the way things are going at the minute...who knows lol! X

Morning diary, happy Friday.

God I was in such a fluster this morning. My mam and dad were away in Newcastle last night and I was stopping at Warrens. My mam left me a note to put the bin out last night before I went, but it wasn't until I heard the binmen in Warrens street at 7.15 this morning that I realised I had forgotten!! Jumped out of bed, got my clothes on and got a taxi home in a mad panic. Looked like the bins in the street hadn't been emptied, so dragged mine out onto the street. The binmen came about an hour later and emptied them lol! Doesn't seem like much, but with everything that has happened lately I wanted to try and do everything I can to help my mam. Then one job I am given I forget to do lol! I'm like Dolly Daydream honestly, I would forget my head if it wasn't screwed on!

Weighed myself on the scales this morning (naughty, I know!) and they were back down to about 11st 13.5lb. Mind you, that was in just underwear. But at least it looks as though the bloat may be shifting a bit!! I drank loads of green tea yesterday, so I might try and continue drinking it. Just swap my normal cups of tea for green instead and see if that continues to help.

Just had a yummy bowl of fruit for breakfast whilst watching Jeremy Kyle lol, love days off!! This is how the rest of the day is looking...
