Yeah I've been totally honest, I always am, I don't weigh things properly but I always know what I'm cooking and weights on the things. So I don't get it. It shouldn't be this hard should it. I mean I don't exercise loads but I don't drive so walk loads and I've been swimming when I can. Argh I wanted to go to Thailand feeling good about myself and I just feel crap.
Charl - have you got a diary where you post your food? If so give us the link so we can have a look.
You do need to weight everything though to be able to gauge the calories accurately. It's the only way unfortunately.
It is so easy to under-estimate that the potato is 200g say - when in fact it is 250 - that's 25% more calories!
As I've said before it is easy to cheat without realising. I do SW and I have to count syns.
In the very early days I would just ignore the odd extra ½ syn for a bit of mayo, or a bit of gravy, or a couple of cheese triangles etc.
Then I realised that they weren't the odd extra ½ syn - they were a whole syn and I'd had 5 extra and over plan.
Thats 33% too many and at the rate I lose weight that meant a gain or at the least a STS.
So before going to the doctors have a week where you weigh every single solitary thing that you eat and drink and see if it makes any difference.
So do not beat yourself up about lack of exercise - if you have no car and are walking everywhere that will help.
But you do not have to exercise to lose weight. I can't - my arthritis won't let me. I just go swimming in the summer when the public pool is open.
Exercise will not make you lose that much weight - but it will tone things up and make you look slimmer.
