The really slow loss team!

Annya brilliant on the walking, sounds really good, how did you find out about it? As I walk loads and loads so to make it into more of a workout would be

Try searching You Tube for Leslie Sansone - a lot of the walking programmes are on there free to view. They don't look like much, but they get you walking at between 4/5 miles per hour and you are sweating by the time you have done a couple of miles! They also do lateral walking and some do toning too - so you get a good work out. I do the 4 mile super challenge 2-3 times a week and burn at least 390 calories (accurate burn measured by Polar HRM) - more if I keep my knees high
;)

Don't worry lou, you'll get there, just think of how much you've already achieved, and how you feel about yourself now compared to where you started, you're within healthy ranges, and you look fab, (i remember for the lovely photies you posted ages ago - and you've lost more since then!)

Winter funk absolutely sucks, but try and focus on the good, what you enjoy and do more of it if possible, and the rest will fall into place. xx

Thanks charl. I'm trying to not let myself stay down and think bad things. I think having control over my diet, eating better and stopping drinking will really help my mood. I've been comfort eating and was so disappointed to see my weight back to 10.10. I've just sat and planned my food for tomorrow and I'm going to take fruit to work to snack on. Thanks for the support x

I agree with Charl - you can do this girlie. You are still in a healthy BMI range so all is far from lost. A litle bit of planning and a big dollop of omph is all you need.......... oh, have a lovely big warm cwtch from me too..... I find that always helps :D

Thanks :) to be fair I was 10.4 on my scales the other week, first thing in a morning butt naked. This ws tea time, after porridge for brekkie, quiche salad and crisps for lunch and copious teas and coffee lol, and wearing jeans. I just hope i lose something next week. I know I can do this, I have done it!!! Just got that stubborn last bit to budge. Feel more motivated than ihave in a long time :) x

Chica - your clothes will weigh about 2 lbs and after a day of food like that you will also have gained about 2 lbs - so really you're only 2lbs up.

You need to start weighing at exactly the same time on the same day each week.
Any other WI - unless you know your body really well - is just going to be a false WI.

I weigh daily (I know, naughty Bev . . . ) but I really now understand how my body reacts to various foods so I don't get disheartened by a small gain.
I've gained as much as 2.2 kgs (that's almost 5 lbs) in a day because of bloat alone due to excess bread and pasta - so stop fretting.
The more you stress the less likely you are to stick to any plan chica.

As Annya said, your BMI is still healthy so get planning your food and exercise.
Try to include a midday walk if you can manage it to get out at the lightest part of the day which should help any SAD and depression.

((( hugs ))) chica :hug99:

Not by birth Lindsay, but definitely by choice :D I live near Llandovery in Carmarthenshire - I see you are in South Wales too - whereabouts?

Good on you Lou, a few days totally on plan will make you feel brighter I'm sure :)

Charl I really have no idea for a target, I put down 9st 7lb (which is currently 1st 7lb away) but I don't know how I'll look so I'll play it by ear.

I'm reporting a loss of 1.5lb this week, really happy with that given how some of this week has gone. Hopefully I'll be in the 10's again next week & possibly get my 2st (for the...third time!!). I went to my aqua class last night which turned out to be a new Aqua Zumba class, it was brilliant! Absolutely loved it so going to go every tuesday.

Thanks bev. I planned my food for today, just ticking into my scrambled egg, toast and veggies, dinner is pasta tuna salad and tea I have a whole chicken in the slow cooker already, just hope it cooks in time!!! I feel a lot better today, I got up earlier and feel better for having some structure to my day food wise. I think I'm just one of these people who needs routine and when I lose it it makes everything else go to pot.

Yep I'm the same, when I don't know what I'm doing I lose focus, but on a brighter note the choices I make when I lose focus are no where near as bad as what I would have done in the past, so def progress there! X

Ha mine seem to be worse at times!!! I just need to change my mindset to moderation I'm a very all or nothing girl and its bad cis the nothing side can't last for long then I'm head first into a vat of wine and crisps. Tut tut. :D

. . . I'm head first into a vat of wine and crisps. Tut tut. :D
I can do that any time - doesn't have to be after a "nothing" phase
My big downfall though is peanuts . . .

My big downfall though is peanuts . . .

OMG me too Pom - As you know, I scoffed a 100g pack of salted roasted peanuts I found hiding in the back of a cupboard they other day (obviously not well enough hidden!) without a second thought until I checked the calorific content after the fact

Sadly that will likely equate to a gain for me this week under current circumstances, but nobody's fault but mine so I will have to take it on the chin and learn a salutory lesson from it

I LOVE macadamia nuts, I can easily eat a massive pile of them, I miss them loads, but have abstained since starting. Its insane how high they are isn't it! x

Nuts are high in calories because of the natural oil/fat content.
The way they check calorie content it to burn ALL the food in a bomb calorimeter and see what energy is output - i.e. how many calories. So because of the hight oil/fat content they burn extremely well. Mind you, the nut itself is high in calories too.
You digest all the oil/fat so this is not that good for you.

BUT . . .
Have you ever checked your **ahem** pooh after you've eaten them?
About half come straight out the other end totally undigested.
TMI I know but it does actually mean that you are only digesting the fat content and not the nut itself so you are only actually consuming about 60-70% of the calories.

Stop reading this post now if you don't want to hear my husband's favourite saying . . .

4 pints of Pedigree bitter and a packet of peanuts and you can pebble dash the bog!

Don't blame me - talk to him . . . he has a very weird sense of humour.
