The really slow loss team!

I'm off to the dentist. Wish I could just walk on right past.

1 and a half off: but don't put me on the naughty step for too long: have a family wedding on Friday so will def be off naughty step by next week, hehe!:)

Pommette - big pat on the back for going to the dentist (I'm too scared, but know I should go really!).... hope its not too bad.

Holidaygirl - well done on your loss, hope you enjoy the wedding ;)

im not sure if i would be able to have metformin then...i have ibs? maybe this is why they werent keen to put me on it hmm.... i think i will hang fire and give my herbal supplements a go first and do what the doctor said and wait until end of january. i feel so much better today, i think 2 days of healthy eating helps my mood, eat rubbish-feel rubbish. oh well im taking my girls out for a walk today cos we all need some fresh air!!

it may have an impact on your IBS, think the doses have to be titrated to see what you can tolerate. it can cause diarhorrea but some people it goes away, they seem to balance the effects of the drug with the releif of symptoms of pcos. its rotten all the same for you!

HolidayGirl - well done chica. You do have to head to the naughty step though I'm afraid - even if only until the wedding.

Gobolino - I too hate dentists but I make myself go. I've had toothache on and off for ages. Back in August it was constant for 8 days in both top and bottom wisdom teeth on one side. Dentist couldn't see anything so has also done a fancy x-ray and there is nothing wrong anywhere with the teeth. It did show up a bunged up sinus (could have told him that) which is pressing on the nerves to the teeth.

Oh result :) No work needed then, big thumbs up for you!

Hi peeps, STS for the second week running and I'm mega disappointed :-( Stuck to the letter and I'm gutted that I've maintained AGAIN!!! I know it's better than putting weight on but I'm just so peeved that I've tried so hard and not seeing any results......the lovely consultant even checked my last two week's food diaries and said I was doing everything right and to stick with it, gggrrrrr, so hard when you feel like giving up but I am gonna stick with it for another weeks and see what happens :-( Losing weight is hard work :-( Xxxxxx

the one thing your c cant check is portion sizes..i know technically your supposed to be able to eat as much free food as you like but truth is you cant.....unfortunately! not sure what plan your following but if it involves pasta, potato or rice then id say cut back on those first as you just maybe overdoing that side of it, if your doing ee are you having 1/3 super free with every meal? are oyu snacking on super free as your first choice? are you weighing and measuring your healthy extras? are you keeping a close eye on syns or are you guesstimating alot? these are you first ports of call hun. i know i keep banging on about it but please give the pennies in a jar thing a go for your syns, it helped me immensely, however many syns you want for the week (i always stick to 70, 105 is too many for me and i dont lose) and put the corresponding amount in a jar or glass in the form of pennies and then every time i have a syn i take a penny out of my jar, it forces me to think about my syns, its a good visual tool and im finding my self double checking syn amounts. i put it on the table next to my food diary which i fill out everytime i eat something. i dont eat alot of bananas as these slow my weight loss, as does eating alot of the free muller lights. please stick with it cos for some people there is no reason and then all of a sudden a large amount just drops off, my friends mum didnt lose a thing for 6 weeks then on her 7th week she lost 7 pound!!! it was like her body suddenly caught up!! it does happen!!! i dont believe that when youve eaten something its gone, things do catch up with you and if your being consistently good and properly following the diet to the letter im sure you will lose next week.

my walk was lovely, blew the cobwebs away! i have eaten less too!!! im doing a red day today and im normally starving when i have a red day but im fine today which is a bonus. ive had a little bet with someone to see who can lose the most weight this week and i dont like losing!!! so am giving it my all!!! :cross:

so no more talk from me of jacking it all in, im in control, taking the bull by the horns and diving straight into a plate of veg, i WANT to lose 10 pound by christmas i WILL lose 10 pound by christmas, just lost my way a little bit back there.....

It's good to see now that you are so positive now Lou, the walks and fresh air are obviously helping, I wish I had the time to go for a walk during the day, I have read that this time of year it is really good for you.
The advice you gave to SJH1985 was brilliant and I am going to take some of those ideas on board. i am going to cut back on the carbs a little and watch the bananas and mullerlight youghurts, I had started to have 3 a day which really is 300 calories and sometimes I have a couple of bananas. I have also started having weetabix for breakfast because I think my porride portion was creeping up. I would love to lose 1/2 stone for Christmas but without sounding negative I don't think it will be possible because I have a holiday and weekend away before then, still if I have kept below 10stone after Christmas that will be some achievement.

Hi conlou 1, thanks for your reply :) Healthy extras and syns I'm fine with, I usually average about 10 syns a day and I measure my milk for my HEX A and have SW hi-fi bars for my HEX B. Maybe your right about portion sizes though.....I always ensure I have a 1/3 super free but this week I'm gonna up my super free foods and see if I can boost my metabolism (as advised by the lovely consultant) I do love pasta/potatoes so maybe I need to cut back on them slightly but I wouldn't say I have a huge amount as they make me bloated so try to even out what I have.

To add insult to injury my friend just texted me who spent the weekend drinking copious amounts of alcohol and ate a full box of Thornton's chocs and she lost 1 lb, feeling very hard done by but I'll get tonight out of the way and I'll be in a much better frame of mind tomorrow....hopefully :) Thanks for the advice and I'll really scrutinise my portion sizes and up my superfree foods even further! Xxxxx

My darling tortoises. I've neglected you this week and I'm sorry. I've been reading every day though and am with you every step. I hope you're all well. Well done to the losers this week. It seems a few of us are on the up or down as it may be.

I've been tied up all week with house hunting, being stalked by estate agents, meetings with financial advisors and doing a million maths calculations. Hoping the stress would help with the weight loss but nothing so far! An offer is going in tomorrow. Eeeeek.

Weigh in tomorrow and I got a text to say I'd been nominated for Miss Slinky which was nice. Probably because I'm one of the only ones that stays to class and I'm so outspoken, everyone knows me! Still, it's nice to be thought of in that way. *must wear skinny clothes tomorrow*

Great advice tonight Lou. Glad you seem on the up again. Keep it there hunny! Good luck everyone. :)

Had WI earlier and in REAL danger of being thrown off the team!!

2lbs off, 2stone shiny (need to update my signature) AND only 1lb from target!!

BRING IT ON!!:D

After our C`s talk last week I was very careful to measure my healthy extras.

Mixed them up as well.

I go for an hour`s walk every day.

Apart from when I go mad and do my housework at 7am!!:D

grannie annie!!! wooo go you well done!!!

now get on that naughty step you bad girl :whoopass:

sjh-pasta is a killer i think when doing extra easy, maybe try having a week no pasta and have potatoes and rice instead?? see what your weight loss is like then? pasta isnt a natural substance and white pasta is higher in carbs than potatoes and potatoes are much more versatile. just a suggestion :)

right girlies i want us all on that naughty step next week, no messing now, its coming up to christmas and we all know that crimbo wekk well all be sporting some impressive gains and sts (if your lucky) so lets do it together, lets mix it up and go hell to leather and really have a great week, boost that morale!! we can do it, i have faith in us all!

I'm looking at a 1-2lb GAIN this week after an extremely naughty weekend :17729::eatdrink051::eatdrink023::eatdrink012::eat: :beer8: :party0023: :party0051: :party0036: :7834:

Worth whatever the scales throw at me on Friday morning though as I had a fantastic time with some great friends who I don't see often enough :D :D :D

I'm back on track now, but same as most here it's quick to go on but slow to come off

SJH1985 - well done you for looking forward to next week.

Lou - so good to see you also sounding soooooo positive again. It's brilliant that you've turned it around.

And your advice is spot on. Portion size is often the killer for me!
You're right about pasta too - I bloat something awful with it. Unfortunately though rice has the same effect on me so I stick to spuds, spuds and more spuds.

GrannieAnnie - well done but deffo on the naughty step. We won't chuck you out yet - especially as you only have 1lb to go. But you seem to be the queen of big losses on the tortoise team!

What a fab group we are!!! I have taken something like 300 days to lose 2 stone 3 lbs. sloooow! But! My eating had changed, I am healthier and thinner and it's been so hard there is no way it is going back on!!!
Lol
