the times they are a changin......

Well done on your loss :)

I have to agree I think with Cambridge the all or nothing approach keeps us on track unlike other plans where you can over indulge without very much of a 2nd thought.

Your doing fab, I love catching up and I truly feel as though I know you all lol :)

Morning ladies,

Jen - I like the idea of shimmying into any shop without being looked up and down in disgust - although maybe that only happened in my imagination I have to admit! I had (see past tense!) more than enough disgust in my body for everyone!

You're right though, the diet takes the choice out of it. A few people I know have been asking me about it and I say if you're not willing to do it 100% there's no point in this diet for you just pick something else with more flexibility. Let's face it, it's not the easiest of diets but we've all seen the results and they're worth it.

xx

I totally agree with all that you've said - having tried other things before, this definitely has me the best focussed. I really think that the steps that you follow with this diet are going to be beneficial too, as it gives you an idea of proper balance on the plate and for me - the whole portion element of it is quite important to get right.

Well done on this weeks losses! Amazing progress and soooo close now to target! :)

xx

Yeah it's about portion control for me too - I've spent years on slimming world where they encourage you to eat huge portions but then when you come off it you carry on eating huge portions but of the wrong foods. It can't be good for your body to fill it with that much food surely? It's also all about filling up on carbs and I've read so much recently about them converting to sugars if not used up by exercise so again it can't be good for you. If I can survive off 3 measly shakes a day I'm sure I can on a small amount of protein and some veggies for my main meals. Maybe even *hold breath* a sandwich or a potato or some pasta occasionally...and breathe!!

xx

heh heh clare it s almost like we should be in a selfhelp group nodding and holding hands at the very mention of the carby leetle devils:) but im with you on the wanting to add them into my diet without the serious slide into fatty oblivion. i mentioned it before but bulgar wheat is a fantastic substitute for pasta and more protein than pasta. you don t need loads of the stuff either.

i put some of my reciepes up on a step 3 thread last year so perhaps when we hit that put any more up there?

well another ss day in the bag im not keeping off the scales this week as i know the diff won t be particularly huge, hoping to catch a glimpe of 10st something as soon as it comes although i sometimes find that that change in the weigh might take a bit longer oh those pesky diet gods.

just have til sunday and them i have completed my 1st goal to do a month but still really keen to finsh another couple of weeks after that. might not make it to the weekend of the 7th/8th as a good pal has just found a new job and is wanting to celebrate. most of my weekends are pretty full in dec so this is beginning to look like the most likely but if it turns out its not that weekend id prefer to complete the week.

get my hair done on 2nd dec as i curently look a bit wild and grey streaked roots not attractive. i put it off for nov as i went into cambridge confinment.

put on the goal clothes and the diesel jeans size 30 fitcouldn t wear every top with them but a good number. another wee tick list i had was to wear my skunkfunk dress for the 12th at chrissie hynd and its looking good for that too. so pretty delighted really . just going to keep going for as long as i can. for once ketosis goes im not bring it back this time.
steve was saying it was pretty noticable id lost weigh and the collar bones are sticking out a bit more (love that)

lets all keep up the good work jxx

Morning Jen,

Hahaha you're right my name's Clare and it's been 4 weeks since my last carb! I just want to be able to eat without thinking about calories and fatness, I want to be one of those girls that naturally chooses salad instead of chips or says no I'm too full for dessert or i'll just stick with water or I'm okay for the warm fresh bread with proper butter that's just come out of the oven....oh god that's me done for the day now!

Oooh that 10 is within touching distance! Do you weigh in in the evenings like me? I was 10st 5 this morning which means I've lost a whole 2 stone, however my weigh in is tonight and I'll prob be 10st 8 or heavier tonight as I always am :(

Maybe you can ss in the week and just let your hair down at weekends? It'd be a shame to put all your good work to waste. Even without ketosis it's still a 140 cal meal instead of what you would be eating normally...

Ooh weight loss and a new hair do - check you out! You're going to look and feel fabulous when you go out and bet you get tonnes of compliments!

Good news about your clothes, it's such a good feeling when that zip pulls up isn't it?! I'm defo more pear shaped and for me it's getting the size 10 pants over my bottom that feels brilliant!

Have a great day xx

hi there
normally im an am weigher my cambridge weigh is a bit higher than my scales at home due to uniform and there being a 3/4 pound diff with my consultants scales (we have the same scales and i m always that much heavier on hers) but as long as the general trend is decreasing life is good. went on the scales this am and saw 10st 13.75, a scrap over the line but the tens are here. much joy this morn. although what happens tomorrow is to be decided. fantastic on the 2st that is pretty damn fabulous. size ten trousers as well you must be over the flippin moon. good luck for the weigh in.

im not going to do any form of ketosis after this stint is finished. did that last year and came a cropper. hair loss, fatgiue and generally feeling like hell. it just didn t work for me although most people seem to be fine. im not risking that again so made the decision to have this time and once its done stay step 3 apart from planned days (of which there will be a few) what i hope is i can get a bit below target pre xmas and then have some pounds to play with def want to come up the steps properly this time. i will not be throwing away all my hard work. thing is i know where my happy zone is and its between 10.7 to 11. 2 really want to maintain in this which is sometime i ve always failed at before. so thats my game plan, this year i did manage to maintain well until i knew id be back on the cambridge and added a little extra half stone. so i feel prepared for the challenge. but its going to be one day at a time and keep an eye on the weight like a hawk.

am really looking forward to getting the hair done, been out buying a few new bit s of make up ( designer junkie) so i ll be feeling at my best for the party season.

YAY congratulations on the 10-something!!!!

I'm pretty much of the same opinion, I don't want this to rule my life once I'm down at target I just hope I can naturally make those healthier choices.,.time will tell I suppose. I will still be going for monthly weigh in with my CDC so hopefully that will keep me on track.

You deserve a treat, you've done so well. You will look and feel fab when you go out!! I'm off out tomorrow night (if I've mentioned before sorry!) and I'm wearing a dress that hasn't fitted since my honeymoon!

xx

another day of 100% ss in the bag

good call on the monthly weigh in

yeah think we all deserve a bit of a treat so looking forward to dec going to be shimmimg my shake for all its worth xx

so another weekend begins had a lovely night yest was out at a concert large group of musicians came down from orkney for the fiddle festival and what a amazing amout of talent was on the stage. just love seeing live music and very easy to remain 100% no awkward food had you avoid, just one bottle of water and sipped away so all good. mum said you can def see the diff. she s quite happy with me doing this diet nit so sure my dad thinks it a great idea but thats just concern so i ll let the old boy off.

have the house to myself today and think a bit tidying is in order dull but gentle excercise so if your hungry just help yourself to the extra stores i ve accumulated body sure you ll find something to keep you going:)

i am so in the zone don t think im going to have my ss+ meals this weekend. went on the scales this morning (less than my cambridge weigh in ) but 10st 11 and 3 quarters. just under two pounds and i ll be back at the lowest i got to on cambridge last time so chuffed. i still have 2weeks to lose a bit more and that im hoping will cover the xmas gains really really going to try and be 10st10lb after. wouldn t even of thought id of had a shout at this but you ve got to be in it to win it:)

have just found a new method for my vanilla shakes thanks to another forum. i love chai lattes and thought id try to mimic it on cambridge, made up chai tea and then added shake plus a bit of cinimmon very tasty so think i ll have a few more next week.

well supose id better get on with cleaning hope all having a successful weekend

Hiya, well done on everything you have achieved on your weight loss journey. You are doing so well. It's great to see. I am going to chop my bars up small to make them last longer. Thanks for the idea Xx

thanks very much im getting there now, today marks the first challenge i set myself, do one month (as i thought that that at least would cover xmas) but i ve changed the goal posts and want to continue for another 2weeks ss (only i might not make it to the 7/8 dec as there may be a nightout). i was so pleased yest i discovered i could wear my diesel jeans again (even outside :)) thats me back in the goal clothes too my wardrode is up to 99% wearable, one happy jen. my plan is to step 3 or 4 over dec jan with the planned nights. ideally i would like to keep to the lower part of my own acceptable weight zone (10st 7 to 10st 10 ) its not that i won t be happy with lower but i stand a chance at maintaining that and im in this for the long haul. i need a weight that i can still go out and doesn t require excercise every day. i know what im likely to keep up and also what i wont, this plan is good for me now.

i absoluetly loved your tweeking of the kate moss quote, it is just spot on, how are you doing? whats your longer term plan?
have a great day
