Thomasina's final push!

Job sounds good, I could do with one without targets!

Well done to N too, his pay rise is good timing with u moving to new job with less.

Good luck at the docs, hope it's something minor they can fix for u.

Enjoy your pizza x x

Fab news about N's payrise babe :) Shame about the doctors news..........what sort of scan was it? hopefully it will all be fine xxx

Lis- thanks it is great because the amount he has gained covers the amount I've lost!
Emma- it was an internal ultrasound. The stick this huge thing up you and take pictures of your womb and ovaries. I have a feeling it maybe poly cystic ovaries as I have a lot of the syptoms- really hairy, spots and weight gain! But time will tell.
Have you had any more news about your lumps?x

Oh dear! I've had one of those.....not pleasant :) Well if it is PCOS at least it is something that is treatable babe, I shall think positive thoughts for you xxx

No more news other than they wont be removed unless they get bigger! They aren't dangerous which is the main thing, just more painful and uncomfortable tbh!!!

Oh crumbs - I know that must be worrying but it could be nothing or just a fibroid or a little cyst or something. No point worrying till you know you've got sommat to worry about!

Congrats to N - enjoy Pizza hut :D x

Quick update while in walking to the docs. I do have PCOS :(

Well had the dr's and had to have a blood test to see if I have problems with insulin which is the main reason people with PCOS put on weight. Not to bothered about any of the symptoms apart from the fertility issue but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. However the smaller and healthier you are the more chance you have of conceiving so I need to get these 2 stones of pronto!
Because of the insulin issue apparently low carb/gi is the way to go. Need to look into GI but I don't think it would really suit me as I'm not really into pulses and beans and things like that. Molly could you suggest anything?

I am just going to have a blowout because I need to get it out of my system so a nice big kebab tonight :)

In other news of to have a mri tomorrow on my knee (I'm spending too much time in hospitals/doctors!)

And also I tried fish last night for the first time ever and I liked it!!! SO going to buy some battered cod and see how I get on. Had most of N's last night oops!

Enjoy your blowout ;) .. Great that you like fish though if you don't mind me saying battered isn't the best way to have it hon, not when you're trying to lose weight anyhoo ;)

Sorry about the pcos but it's livable with - I only know one person who has it, She's always been quite (actually sometimes VERY) large and has lots of unwanted hair but is about to give birth to her 1st baby ... I thought you'd like to know that! xx

Thanks Jan :) it will be ok. Just the doctor gave me no info and said I will need to speak to the doctor about it once my other results are back. Fear of the unknown and all that! But I do feel a bit calmer about it now.
I've always been a bit hairy but that is part of my genetics too but I bleach/thread and it doesn't bother me.
Weight however is another issue! I need to get down to 8st 10lbs to be in the middle of the healthy range which to me seems teeny tiny! So I am still going to aim for 9 1/2 and go from there!
As for the fish I totally agree! It was very oily! Guess will take it one step at a time however I can't ever imagine me eating something that smells so bad!!

8st 10lb is tinny!! How tall are u Hun?

Hope ur feeling ok? I don't know much about it myself but jillian michaels (biggest loser) talks about it and weight loss etc as she has dealt with it - might be worth looking for any articles she's wrote about it x

5.3 and a half exactly! Well do get a bmi of 22 I need to be 8.13 or a bmi of 21ish 8.10. It just seems really small to me!
As for the other stuff I am ok. Not going to worry about it now as it isn't causing any major issues. Thanls for the info will look into it hun x

T, really don't stress on that bunch of crap they call the BMI. it's so inaccurate! (IMHO anyways)

Get to a weight where you feel comfortable & happy :)

I know Tan-it is crazy! When I was 16 I was around that size but I was young and it was alright then (I know I'm still quite young bykwim!) but now it just seems so tiny!

Not much to report. Food been crap today as on my monthly cycle of sickness and diarrhea (apparently PCOS related- good to get some answers!) so needless to say I'm on my 3rd pack of ready salted crisps as they are the only thing that stops me puking!
I want to get down to 11 stone exactly and then do 50 days on exante and will hopefully get down to around 9 1/2. So I really need to pull my finger out and get down to it!

How you doing today?
Whats PCOS? i've heard of it but know nothing about it. x

Rubbish again today :( just eating anything salty to stop me puking! Should be ok by monday and then need to stop all this picking! Little pickers wear big knickers!
PCOS is basically where you have cysts on your ovaries. Sometimes it is where the eggs haven't released properly and they stick. You also have hormones in balance causing facial hair and little or irregular periods and because you don't always ovulate it is harder to fall pregnant. Then most people who have it are insulin resistant so carbs are just turned into fat the stores around your middle.
That is pretty much it! Still learning things for myself- doc really wasn't helpful!

So got my blood test results back and my hormone levels are normalish which I'm happy about. But it has come back that I'm insulin resistant. Explains why I put the weight back on so quickly!
The nurse is calling tomorrow and there is some meds that they can give that evens out your blood sugar so hopefully can get some of those.
In a bit of a quandary about how to diet! I most definitely need to do a session of exante and get the excess of but from what I have read GI seems to be the best way but I find it all so confusing. Need to read up on it!

If you want GI then irish molly is your woman! :)

Hope you figure out what you want to do soon x

Yeah going to have a look at her diary later. Tbh I'm just a bit peed off with it all atm! Just don't know what to do! Will see what the nurse suggests tomorrow x

S/he will suggest healthy eating - I'd put money on it! Maybe with a low GI lean.
I'm not sure anyone can 'advise' you. They can only recommend what they think is good and works for them. That's why you'll get so many different suggestions. Unfortunately there is no 'one size fits all' in the dieting world. If there was there wouldn't be so many flipping diets out there!!
Hope you find the best way for you hon :) xx

As Jan says there is no " one size fits all" plan. Gi or GL plans are supposed to help pcos.
GL is basically about maintaining your sugar( glucose) levels through the day.
Things that push these levels up and thus should be avoided or taken in small quantities include:
Processed foods of any kind.
Many of the " diet" foods which contain hidden sugars.
Sugar or sugary foods
Very starchy foods ( starch converts to sugar in the body)
Starchy foods include wheat and wheat products, veg that grow under the ground( potato, parsnip, carrots etc)

Look at your food diary. Substitute starchy veg with leafy or green veg.
When using rice, potato or pasta, use wayyyy less of it. It should be less than a quarter of your plate. If using rice or pasta, go for wholewheat and use 40 g dry weight per portion.
For fruit, berried fruit is best, then plums, kiwis, pears etc.
Try rye crackers or rye bread. Whatever bread you do have, limit it to two slices a day.

Google Gi and loads of info is available on line. Hop on the Gi section of minimins. There are a few very detailed diaries there at present. There is also a stickie with great recipes.
Good luck with your research.
