wat if u only have the 2 children ?

Then neither of them will have it. I think it's about having a definite identity and place in the family.

Our eldest is very mature and intelligent, our youngest is as cute as a button and loves to be babied by the whole family. Our middle child is special too (ofcourse), he is lovely looking boy, perfect physique, really artistic, hard working, easy to be with and do things with. But he has a really awkward streak, stubborn, gets really upset to be pushed into anything. He has just given up football because although he enjoys it he doesn't want to commit to it. He has always eaten extremely healthily and loves all foods but lately he hasn't been eating his packed lunched gives very specific reasons why he hasn't touched it, particular type of bread etc he does like! Dinners he tries to say he doesn't like it to try to get me to make something special for him. He is just trying it on. But I do want him to feel special and have a role in the family but don't want to reward his stubborn awkward behaviour. Bless him!

I think every child struggles to find their niche in the family, whether first, middle, last, 12th or only one. Each is an individual and I personally don't believe in the middle child thingy wotsit ;) (there... cat nicely set amongst pigeons.. I shall retire to a safe distance.. ) hee hee hee (well.. you don't want this thread to stop now do you??? ;) )

My eldest has always been well behaved, but Callum the 2nd and last is a little bugger to put it very very politely.
Kids eh they here to try us for sure

Hi Sonkie

Even though my eldest is mature and intelligent, he has actually always been the most hard work. He is very intense and difficult to relax around. He seems to zap your energy when he is around you and has been like that since he was born. The other 2 are so much easier and relaxing to be around. I could chat for ages about my boys but I won't bore you any longer!

We let them all sleep in until the last minute this morning and helped them with getting dressed to speed them up and help them out. Will get early dinner and bed tonight and hopefully they will catch up sleep then. Hope they are not too grumpy today and can concenrate OK at school.

Ah bless how did they cope, were they fine or grumpy.....Callum ( 9) always needs 1/2 hr to wake up before you can ask him to do anything.

My eldest wants to be the middle or youngest, my middle wants to be the eldest and my youngest doesn;t particularly care where he is! His T-shirt says " I live in my own world and they understand me here"!!!!! Very true too!

Listening to my eldest practice his cello (trying to look impressed!!)

+ writing up my recipe for tomorrows GI dinner.

Getting him to practice is a nightmare these days! He has lost interest but doesn't want to give up. Don't think his teacher motivates him enough or pushes him on enough. He is a child needs pushing, when his exam comes up he'll put the work in other wise can't be bothered. He does well and passes his exams but his dad is getting fed up with paying for lessons when he can't be bothered. Each 20 minute lesson costs £10.

Anyone got any tips???

Good morning all

Been neglecting the old post for a while - shameful:eek: but here I am once more:)

You'll be pleased to know Dizzy you've inspired me. My resolution this year was to get fitter (first year it hasn't been lose weight:D ) but hadn't really done much about it so far. But all your trips to the gym last week tugged at my consience and so yesterday morning dragged out the rebounder and did 10 mins on that before breakfast and did the same again this morning. Just 10 mins burns about 100 cals and I've got stiff muscles in my abdomen and arms, so it must be doing some good :)

I also wear a pedometer that you plug into the computer and get given weekly targets, mine have been going down & down as I've not been meeting them, so yesterday, for the first time in ages I reached my daily target, which involved 10 mins on the treadmill before bed to make sure I got there, and I'm determined to reach my targets all week.

So you're getting fitter and now I am too - thanks :p

Other than that not much to report in sunny Telford. Had a good week with all my new clients that started in January and had some great first weigh-ins over the week. Had a few drop out too which is a shame, but I guess that's the way it goes. I had one lady who sailed through the first week and had a good loss and then gave up right at the end of her second week, said she was finding it difficult. I'm sure if she'd hung on another day or two she would have felt so much better, but she's made up her mind and wasn't prepared to give it another go. I was disappointed for her as she had a lot of weight to lose and had given up on every other diet she'd tried and I really felt that this would be such a help for her, but at the end of the day I can't do it for them I guess! I'm like a mother hen and want all my clients to do so well:rolleyes:

Well the sun's shining, although it's blooming freezing but I've got no excuses not to take the dog out for a walk. I quite like it when it's like this though as you can wrap up and it's bright and sunny, better than all that wind & rain.

Right ½ hour on the forum, then walk!

My son used to play the keyboard at primary school, but in his last yr he just was not keen on keeping it up, he never really gave a proper reason.
Myself and his teacher both tried to get him to keep it up, but did not work. I think he just wanted the time spent practising out playing with friends.

Good luck with your son Dizzy

Wow Dizzy and MD, all this exercise talk.....well im still waiting for my elliptical strider to come, it should be here by the end of this week.
I am actually quite excited, my stepper is ok but just for lower half of the body, with this you use your arms and chest too.

So good for my self esteem that I've inspired someone!!!!

I must now keep it up and not let it fizzle out. Was in the gym yesterday, would like to go today but need to get work done in the house. If I shut down the laptop that would help eh?

Dotty we'll keep an eye on you with the fitness.

It must be disappointing when clients that you feel you could help decide not to help themselves. But maybe this isn't her time! Shame though. I guess all you can do is concentrate on the clients that want your help.

I've always liked the look of these. But honestly I've got so much equipment and every time I buy something new I promise my husband that this is it, I won't need anything else! I'm terrible:eek: So at the moment I've got my rebounder and my treadmill in use, which will have to do for now.:)
