Tipperary wobbles into 2024

So thats the hip but thats not all.
The MRI showed the whole pelvic area including uterus. And it showed shadows that he thinks are fibroids. I said ive no problems that way whatsoever. No pain, no problems, no symptoms and was happy to leave it. I mean its not like im trying to have more children. But he wasnt happy to leave it. So another more concentrated MRI and another specialist to see. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Any food stuff.
No exercise at all, lots of pacing about.
Made my normal smoothie and brought it with me. Dont normally have it till 11 but just in case i needed to fast brought it with me. Doc said i could eat when i wanted to, then when he gave me anti inflammatories said i had to eat then.
Hanging around at at 5pm was sent to the cafe and had quiche, chips and salad. Best option i could find

Anyway to continue, got home at midnight and had "ordered" red wine to be open. Hadnt eaten and needed something, normally i would have ordered takeaway or stopped at BurgerKing. Nope, not that my choice was much better. I had 3 slices white toast with butter and some wensleydale and cranberry cheese (tastes so bitter after the mango and ginger). Well the noises emanating from my stomach now are something else after thst influs of carbs.
Back on my regular eating now of smoothie for breakfast, but it has a smoothie bag of frozen mango and papaya in it rather than my normal blueberries so possible a mountain of sugary carbs.

Blimey that was a day and a half, I don't know anything about fibroids?

I think you did really well foodwise, hospitals are so difficult to find healthy options in generally. And OMG YES to the red wine, you so needed it!

How's the hip feeling today?

So 9.30pm back with ER doctor. MRI shows a tear in my hip around the pelvic bone. Have an appointment with a specialist next Tuesday. In the meantime no weight allowed on my hip, no walking, no sitting, no standing, no driving. On crutches for in the house. I can swim, but cant actually get to the pool.
Oh you poor thing. Do any pools have a winch? I can imagine that being in the water could feel so freeing considering yr constraints on land. Sending you strength over the interwebs.

Oh my gosh I missed this post! No wonder you've been in so much pain! But what do they expect you to do, lie down for weeks?

Yep, the pool has a winch. But what i meant was i cant drive to get there. I can easily get down the shallow steps on crutches.

Sorry Susie, i had lots of posts as it was a long day. And i know nothing about fibroids either, and my opinion is if its not a problem just leave it. But he wants to be sure it is fibroids i suppose.

And yep, im just lying down so netflix suggestions gratefully received

Husband already going beserk, how dare i be in the house during the day.
Last night i was leaning in a corner trying to make toast, he had poured a glass of wine for me and left in on the table. Asked him to pass me a plate, no problem, then asked for a knife and he just flipped "for fโ‚ฌck& sake do i have to do everything for you".
It will be a long week

Morning day 2 of living on the couch begins. Finding crutches hard to get around on. But the rest is helping, no current pain. But i keep forgetting then to use the crutches.
Obviously no exercise yesterday. And food became a carb fest. Usual smoothie for breakfast, chicken, soup and coleslaw for lunch. But dinner became chicken goujons and potato croquettes. Had some wine to and then a whiskey, the whiskey was for its sedative purposes๐Ÿ˜‰.

I looked up fibroids and had to laugh at the irony. Being heavy especially around the middle can cause them. But having fibroids can cause weight around the middle. Anyway consensus seems to be if they arent causing a problem just leave them.

Does your OH not understand that you have to sit as still as possible, in order to get better more quickly??? Oh hun I'm sorry he's reacting that way, hope he eases off and tries to support you more.

Did the whiskey do its magic? :)

Sending you strength over the interwebs, Tip.

Its just how he reacts to things he cant fix.
Yep the whiskey did what it needed to do.

Day 3 on the couch. No pain at all if i stay still. Tried to do some cleaning yesterday and it did twinge.

Binge watched big bang theory yesterday. Omlette for breakfast, 2 fish fingers and 2 goujons for lunch.
Then bottle of red wine, pecan pastry, pack popcorn, 4 squares choclate.
And fell asleep on the couch.

Then this morning had cold pizza for breakfast and 4 squares of chocolate.

I think its safe to say it wasnt a keto day

LOL hilarious - I love leftover pizza for brekkie, although I probs would have chucked it in the microwave :D.

How are you feeling today? And sorry if I missed it but how long do you need to use the crutches for?

On crutches or flat on my back on couch until i see specialist on Tuesday.

The carb monster in me has been released now, having 2 egg salad sandwiches now for lunch and not even 11am

Oh honestly, im so flip flopping around.
Tried to be good yesterday after the pizza but ended up having thai food at 9pm.
Anyway, this interesting "experiment" has shown me how i feel better with the keto approach. Carbs make me very windy, too hot and i dont sleep great, and im constantly hungry. With the keto approach i feel satisfied, i can go up to 16 hours very comfortably without being hungry and dont get that weak feeling that can come with hunger.
So i know what works, i just need to do it. Certainly routine helped it and i enjoyed the swimming and walking i could fit in. Right now things are just topsy turvey as i lay on my back. But good news, no pain at all as long as i dont move my hip or put any weight on it.

Lots of time to reserach my hip issue, good case some physio will fix it, bad case an operation with 6 week recovery.
Same with fibroids, good case ignore them completly, worst case a hysterectomy with lots of options in between.
Will know nothing till i see the two consultants.
Bought Jason Fungs The Obesity Code and so far agree with it. And it arrived so quick. I need to be careful though as im so bored i keep looking at online shopping sites.

I bought some things from Wish ages ago including a grey smock style shirt that i have been wearing non stop. Daughter 2 said it was too big, its a 2XL, all their sizes are teeny anyway. I wanted a black one and ordered just XL and cant believe the difference in the size. The 2XL i feel like you could fit 2 of me in it, the XL i cant get my arms into it and it is tight on the chest๐Ÿ™„

Ive adjusted my smoothie recipe. I have it down to 19g carbs. I did take a screenshot of it and uploaded it but got a message saying it has to be approved, is that a new thing. Ive never needed an image approved before
Anyway my app says my max should be 17g carbs day. My book says 50g max but more ideally 30g.

Sorry to hear you have had a rough week. At least you know what's causing the pain now, it's just frustrating when told rest is needed and all you want to do is be active and do things for yourself. The diet going a bit sideways is totally understandable. The main thing is recognising it and getting back to what works for you.

Thanks elanor, all ober the place just now

I know things are really rough for you at the moment Tipp but this is great news - you know what works best for you and you'll be right back on it as soon as it's practical.

And sorry to hear about the shirt, that's mad that the sizes are so different!
