Tough love - off topic and chit-chat

I think it was the oil. It was certainly a violent reaction anyway. Thank god for moist wipes! :D I was really fancying them as well and they were lovely initially! Don't think I will be having any more for quite some time.

Oooh sounds very glam Lou. Didn't you say you are already a qualified beautician? You should be OK then? Good for you, just think what you could do with it.

Yes I have my
Level 2 in beauty therapy, but didn't do
Anything with it as I got married and had kids lol. But I've always done make up for nights out and weddings so hopefully I'm not too rusty!! I really feel like things are on the up!!

Do you do a bassers discount Lou?! ;) me and my fella are going to get engaged in the next year or so unless I drive him away with my insane dieting lol

I have to tell someone or I'll burst. I have just applied to do a diploma in media hair and make up with a view to being a makeup artist. It's all dependant on a test I have to do to see if I have got the skills or not, I'm really nervous, if they say no I'm going to be so upset.

Awesome news Lou! You know what, even if you don't get on the course (though I am sure you will!) I think you will deserve a big pat on the back for applying, you know. I reckon it's a sign of the brand new confident you :D Glad to see you are having a better week and feeling more positive.

Sounds very glam Lou. I am a complete novice at that kind of thing - I suspect because I never had a Girls World when I was growing up! Fingers and toes crossed for you. x

Oooh I always wanted a Girls World! Never had one, nor did I have a real life sister to do hair and makeup with, hence the reason I look like a bag lady when I leave the house these days... and can't use a GHD to curl my hair if my life depended on it.

i used to cut the hair off my sisters barbies - if they were lucky enough to keep their heads!! these days i am a nightmare for doing my hair - or not doing it.

i detest the haridressers and only have my hair cut when absolutely necessary....and even then i get someone to come to my flat and do it so i can wash my hair myself!

i can use GHD's to curl hair and straighten it - my problem is that i am way too lazy to spend hours getting ready to go out. if i can get away with doing little/nothing to it then i will!!!

Me too Sparty, it occurred to me that at 30, I have been doing my eye makeup in exactly the same way I was shown how to in 'Just 17' magazine (when I was about 12) so for the last 18 years. It really is about time I learned how to do it properly, might treat myself to a makeover when I get to goal.

just from the other thread as i fort it was a bit chatty, but am giving the running a miss for a few weeks, as it only occured to me after reading FL post that i dont own traiineres!! :S i have 6" heels, flip flops and some plimsole type things (that i wear for bike riding!) so am gonna invest in soem trainers for running and some ewellies for trudging through the muddy fields with teh dog! :) but after spend £400 on bloody school uniforms i cant afford them at the minute lol.

and as requested by bonnie, her name is poppy, she is 15m old and a pain in the bum lol but still lovely just needs some firm training i think!!

I would recommend oasics running shoes. I got mine for £30 which is a bargain for that brand in sports world international (also known as sports soccer). I have had them ages and they are really comfy and supportive

Yes my test is at 10, apparently they're very picky on who they let on it and as I haventhada job as s beauty therapist for years they were a bit funny about it. I'm just praying I get in

Mood board looks good Lou. Have u been practicing your sales pitch?!
Make sure ur confident of your ideas.

You could always use ur sister's blonde hair and blue eyes as being a contrast to your board. It seems all dark skinned and hair in the pics so you could say you wanted to show a lighter side of winter or something with more impact to make your work stand out?! (or is that a crappy idea?! Have I missed the point?)

Sorry only saw first part of your message for some reason. The only dark skin is the main woman, whos eyebrows I did with confetti and glue :) the others are white, it's hard to see in the pic but there's a lot of white and blue, fur and sliver in the pic. The mood board is just to show my creativity which is why I took it further than just sticking pics on a board and I did sparkly brows and then stuck jewels on the woman's dress, if I'd had more than a few hours to prepare I could have done better but it was a challenge gettin wintery pics cos all the mags are full of summer. I'm excited, just want to get on with it now. I won't sleep tonight lol
