Tough love - off topic and chit-chat

haha bloody hot last year werent it!
eurgh yeh i hate just beforepayday when we got no food in lol, i made a LOAD of BNS soup (with carrots and peppers and onions to use up load of veg that was looking worse for wear lol, so i have lunches sorted for the week.

hope ur feeling better soon sparty :( and enjoy ur run this weekend :)

i kinda feel a little silly doing the c25K thing, my husband's uncle is some fitness freak person lol and does marathons and triathlons and decathlons etc, and is next month (i think) running from west france to east france!! so felt rather silly when my husband mentioned to him that i started running! lol theres him running across france! and me nearly dying after 60 seconds down the road!! deffo puts me to shame! lol

It's all relative loola - he has probably been runnin for years and you are just starting out. and it's amazing how quick you can build up - I ran a 10 mile run a couple of years ago!! I couldn't do it today but little and often and you will soon be finding it much easier.

You know what - I might even give it a try tonight!! Think I'm gonna start with a 30 walk/run/walk/run.

Lol. Sounds like some of the sub forums here shockingly! At least we all know the truth eh?!

And as for exercise, it went slowly and hurt lol! But hurt due to the long break I think so I'm gonna crack on at the weekend. Went to meet a few friends after and there was lots of talk of us all doing the marathon!!! (omg). A couple of them have done it before and I think if we get in we will all train together. Entry doesn't open til April but I think we might actually do it! It's mine and my bf's 30th next December and we want to spend the year doing all sorts of random stuff - he also wants to do a sky dive.....and I also want to watch him from the safety of the ground lol.

hi guys, ooh all tihs talk of exercise!! im going to start doing my 30ds once i get my head around what days im working, i can fit it in during the day at some point, i really need to tone up, im losing weight but feel really flabby and my bum is saggy!!!! yuk. i finally feel like ive gotten into the swing of it all again though, being at a takeaway has taught me will poer again, if i dont say no im going to gain, so i just dont go there, and banning myself from eating while im there is great cos im not sat thinking about snacking. last night i didnt get any tea before i went so i had an omelette there with just ham, pepper and mushroom, it ws so filling and i didnt feel the need to snack at all. its weird, i think boredom is definitely my downfall, ive realised that im a very hypo person and if i dont have a lot of stimulation then i get bored really easy, so this is an area i need to work on...

Hi Everyone - a bit of advice required from all you runners. Just got myself a treadmill as I've been thinking about doing the C25K for a while but there is not a chance I would run outdoors. The thought of my boobs and belly bouncing around for all to see is just too much - especially as I live in a semi-rural area where everyone knows everyone else! So sticking with my anti-social theme of indoor exercise I thought a treadmill would be the very thing.

Anyway - got it home and plugged in and being the child I am I jumped on and managed 1/2 a mile in 10 minutes with a 2% incline and running at a speed of 3mph. Is this good? I was quite impressed with myself that I could do it and not die. Although Mr Sue was less than impressed that I was running in my socks and skinny jeans - I just couldn't wait! Ankles are killing a little now :( Ooops.

So runners - did I do something good, average, crap? I don't have an ipod or anything so can't really get going on the actual programme until I do but I was thinking of maybe just running for as long as I can doing the 3mph speed as this was testing but reasonably manageable.

Cheers in advance peeps. xx

Of course u did good you was doing exercise!!! It's not a race hun and speed will come as you get more stamina, on MFP 3mph is down as walking fast and under jogging they have 10 minute mile and 7 minute mile, so you was going at a slow jog but that's nothing to sniff at, I couldn't slow jog for 10 minutes solid. You'd be better walking at 3mph for 2 minutes then jogging at 6mph for one minute for a total of 15 minutes. The intervals will boost your metabolism xx

Cheers Lou. Didn't feel like a slow jog to me. I had proper running action with arms pumping and everything! :D

I wanted to celebrate this but it felt a bit chatty! Yesterday, I went shopping after work. I had my shopping list and every intention of sticking to it... until I saw the Quality Street. Old Me would have grabbed a box, gone home and scoffed the lot. I walked straight past them! THEN, I went to a friend's leaving do at a Burger Restaurant. I ate before and sat there sipping water whilst had their burgers and fries. It felt really good to be able to sit there and feel not hungry and in control- it made me feel much better about socialising! :)

oh wow FL that is will power!!! well done! bet u feel rather chuffed with urself today too for not giving in!

It's little things like that which really make a difference I think. I totally enjoyed my Japan trip and eating without thinking but coming back and having some structure has been nice too. And knowing that I have to reign it in a bit to compensate- I'm totally okay with that :)

I had some new jeans arrive in the post today. They are size 16, same as my old ones but from Dorothy Perkins rather than New Look and I have always found their jeans far less forgiving! And would you believe it- no Muffin top!! Can't wait to shrink my way out of these ones ^^

had my job interview yesterday, got the job!! yay :) its only as a carer in a care home, so not the most glamorous of jobs, but still felling very pleased with myself :) just waiting for CRB check then i can start, im gonna be cream crackered though :( working 7pm-1am, then home to sleep then up again at 6am ready for the day :/ also i didnt know whether this was a good thing or not lol, but, i was trying to decide what to wear to my interview, andi had NOTHING that fit!? lol everything that was suitable was too big!! went with a black dress in the end, which was too big, but wore a waist belt with it so looked ok, and a cream blazer/jacket thing which hid the gaping arm holes lol

Brilliant news loola - both about the job and the baggy dress!! You will have to treat yourself to some new bits once you get your first pay check :)

When do you start? That will be lots of exercise without realising you are doing it so can only help! My nan is in a care home so I think u have picked a really worthwhile job. We need more people like you in the world - god knows I couldn't do that job so hats off to you!

My job is manic at the moment. I didn't have chance to make breakfast or lunch to bring with me today so it will be a test to see what I can buy at tesco (and what I can resist!!)

I have lasagne for dinner which will be 9 syns per portion as I'm using dolmio sauces. Normally I would make my own but I won't have time tonight and my bf wants a 'proper lasagne' for a change. I've got lots of veg I can have with it for super free.

So not much to work with today - think ill have to do extra easy so the pasta and mince are free. That leaves me a hex a, a hex b and 5 syns!! Eeeekkkkk!!!

Well done!! My best job was working at a care home I loved it. Good luck working nights, I didn't think I'd struggle with organising my time as much as I have. I hope u manage it better than I have ;)
