Tracey's healthy yummy lovely journey

hahahaha no i was going to write something to you on yours then must have got my wires crossed. wooopssyyy :) xx

I can't remember if i said it but well done on the loss! Just a quick catch up for now but well done for coming straight back after the bit naughtyness :) xx

My lunch was so incredibly tasty today. About once a week I have a sandwhich for my lunch. I usually bring in my two WM HexB pieces of bread and cheese, ham and whatever salad I have and I then toast the bread and make a toasty type thing. Well this morning we had no tomatoes or salad (I really don't know why, maybe because we had steak salad at start of the week and used it all up? Who knows) so I had to improvise. In my little box of tricks (little lunch box) I packed HexA cheese, 2 slices of ham, one spring onion, about 8 tiny mini gherkins and half a red pepper.

Has anyone been to the Bagel Factory? Well you know how they put the various toppings for your bagel in a little lunch box and microwave it and they all mix together and go all melted and lovely? Well I did just that. I chopped the pepper, spring onion and ham and mixed it with the cheese. I then microwaved for about 10 seconds and stirred it all again before microwaving for a further few seconds. What resulted was an amazing cheesy red peppery oniony hammy concoction that honesty smelt like pizza. I toasted the two small slices of wholemeal bread and plonked the mixture on to it with the little mini gherkins. It was so tasty! I will definitely be making it again. I love when random thrown-together things just work out.

Today is a bit of a random day. It's my first Thursday doing Zumba and it's not until 8pm. I finish work at 5.30pm so the plan is to walk to my grandads house and visit him with my aunt. Then at about 6.30 I'll be meeting my friend who lives close by and we will have a bite to eat in her house before going to the Zumba class at 8. So I should be fed and watered and all by the time I finish Zumba and get home at about 9.30pm. I have no idea what dinner will be but it will possibly be roasted vegetables and something or other as that's what we had the last time and she is a pretty healthy eater herself.

Today's Food Diary...

breakfast - a plum, banana and Aplen Light Apple and Sultana (3)

I love those Alpen bars.

Lunch - 2 WM bread (HexB) with HexA cheese, red pepper, spring onion, gherkins and ham. a plum, packet of velvet crunch (4) and a muller light greek style coconut yoghurt (.5)

Dinner - ???

Snack - chicken and sweetcorn mug shot, 2 lindt thins (1), 3 sugar free 'tea biscuits' (1)

HexA - cheese at lunch
HexB - 1 WM bread at lunch
Syns - 9.5 so far. Either way it will probably end up being around the 15 mark. I may have a 5 syn treat when I meet my auntie (last time she brought me a little bar) and if not there may be something at dinner with syns in it, in which case I will have gone over by a few. Hopefully not though!

SO happy it's Friday tomorrow. OH is going out with his work friends for a leaving do so my plan is to get home about 7.30, have a nice shower, change my sheets, get in to some fresh PJs, and have a lovely thai or chinese take away while I curl up on the couch watching girly tv. Some outrageously large cup of tea and chocoalte will be involved also! I really cannot wait :) I'm sure my drunken OH will wake me up at about 4am giggling about something. Oh the joys!:D

Yea hopefully I will lose a nice amount this week, I think I would be happy with 2 pound but we shall see!

Thanks for the chilli recipe will def try it, I made one a few weeks ago but twas fairly complicated (lots of ingredients),

Cowboy pie is not too dissimilar to chilli actually but I thought it was nicer, I added more of some things to the recipe to bulk it out:

Extra Lean mince, 3 peppers (one of each colour), an onion ( I used two), mushrooms (I used a full pack), A clove of garlic (i used 2), 150ml beef stock (i added an extra dash of water),1 tin baked beans, 1 tbsp chilli flakes (i didnt have these just used aldi/lidl (not sure which) hot chilli powder which also has paprika, cumin etc in it, oh and I added nearer to 2), 1 tbsp tomoto puree (2 again), 1 tbsp tabasco sauce (was scared of this so stuck to the one haha), 1 tbsp worcester sauce (2 again)

I also added a dash of soy sauce too :)

heres the best part: literally put all of the above in a pot together (no browning of mince or frying of veg needed but if you want to, do) and simmer on a low heat for a few hours :) I did it yesterday as I always think things like that taste better the next day, simmered for a while today again and I added extra tomato puree to adjust it to my taste, its meant to be like a taco chip when you have it over chips with cheese :) I had half chips/rice and it was so nice!! Had a huge portion and so did my dad and there is still some left for tomorrow, i might have it in a wrap tomorrow with salad nom nom nom :) Sorry if the recipe is confusing I didnt doctor much just added extra of stuff, mine was quite spicy though so adjust it to your own taste :)

Enjoy Zumba hun xx

I'll definitely try that recipe, thank you :)

Zumba was great but this week I found it a bit tougher than previous weeks. I'm doing it again tonight so hopefully it is better this evening. Hope you're having a nice day x

Your Friday night sounds absolutely perfect!

Yeah I found it harder myself this week too!going again Saturday mornin so really lookin forward to it :) hope your not too sore after the two in a row? My day was ok stressed with college assignments, but weigh in and 1.5 off this week happy enough with that x

Your Friday night sounds absolutely perfect!

Thanks hun! When OH first mentioned he was going out I got a bit sulky and then I realised all the positives. I feel I really need a bit of a 'me' night like this and I really am so looking forward to it. I have a little bit of housework to do around the apartment (I can't relax when it needs to be done haha) so I am guessing that by about 9pm I should be in my PJs with take away in tow and I just cannot wait for it. It really is the little things sometimes isn't it? :)

x

Very confused as to why my minimins account is acting up :-(

So glad it's Friday!

Dinner in my friend's house ended up being a chicken Korma. I had a really small portion though and it was full of red peppers, chillis, onions and peas. I had it with chicken and boiled rice. I would be very happy to say my last 5 syns covered it. When I came home I just had a yoghurt for half a syn and that was me for the night.

Plan for today...

Breakfast - fruit salad with rasberries, bluenerries, grapes and a passionfruit served with a syn free Irish Diet Yoghurt. It was really yummy. Planned to have it at home but I was running late so I popped it in to a lunchbox ans had it at my desk when I got to work. I really enjoyed it

image-2911384542.jpg

Mid morning snack - cup of coffee with sweetner and a dash of skimmed milk (1) and 4 sugarfree 'tea biscuits' (1.5)

Lunch - same as yesterday but without the spring onion as we had none. Boo hoo!
2 slices of WM HexB bread with ham, HexA cheese, red peppers and pickles. Packet of snack a jacks (4.5) muller light greek style yoghurt (.5) and a plum

Snack after work in my aunties house - chicken and sweetcorn mug shot

HexA - 40g reduced fat cheese
HexB - 2 small WM bread
Syns - 7.5/15

For dinner I'll have either a chinese or a thai take away that will be about 7/8 syns! I reeeally fancy a bit of chocolate so I might have a freddo bar (5) and go over my syns be a few. I feel bad going over but I was also really looking forward to the chocolate so I'm unsure!

Must be a glitch on mini's, I just tried logging in on computer and have the same problem! Xx

Well done on your loss, you must be delighted!! Have a lovely weekend :D

Well my day hasn't quite gone too plan but ut hasn't been insanely bad either. I think I went over my syns by about 10. It could have been a lot worse.

In my nannies I ended up having a cup of tea, mini bounty bar (4) and a teeny slice of 'fruit log', like a spoonful (1.5?) then I got chinese and i got enough for OH and I (he is currently out boozing with work colleagues. I got singapore noodles, salt and chilli prawns and bbq spare ribs! The latter two are not good choices. Both fried and the prawns have a batter on them. I had 3 prawns (big ones, you get 6 in a portion) and I ate probably two pieces of BBQ spare ribs along with just over half the singapore noodles. I'm guessing the chinese alone was about 15 syns! So looks like I really went over my 20. Oh dear. Again, could have been worse as I had more ribs on my plate and I decided not to eat them and I put them on OH's plate (he'll come in at 4am and deavour it, amn't I so thoughtful? Haha) and i still fancied chocolate after but I didn't. I stead I had a camomile tea which I'm currently sipping.

So all in all, not a great day really! Amazing how a quick decision can affect things so greatly.

Tomorrow we are going to the Dublin Bay Prawn festival. My plan is to have fruit salad and yoghurt for breakfast and then the rest of the day I am unsure of but I know we'll be eating out due to the festival, most likely seafood so it should not be too fattening and there will be plenty of choice. Wine will be consumed tomorrow but so will lots of water.

I am definitely going to make good choices tomorrow. I'll have a HexA and HexB to play with which will make it easier too! I know it'll be more than 15 syns so there is probably not much point counting syns, but I am comitted to being as good as I can be. Sunday will have to be a great day too. I plan to eat superfree till it comes out of my ears and make some sort of lovely fruit and drink a LOT of water.

My evening has been lovely. I got home later than expected as I visited my nanny and it was so lovely to relax with her watching tv and catching up. She lives with my auntie who's baby (my cousin) is 6 months old and I played with her for ages. She is just so incredibly gorgeous! I can't wait to have a baby someday :)

So i got home about 10pm and randomely I spent about two hours cleaning the apartment so I don't have to do it tomorrow. Then I had a lovely shower and beautified myself before eating my dinner (which I feel a bit bleugh after to be honest) and now i'm in bed in fresh sheets. Aaah! Secretly hoping OH doesn't wake me when he comes in and also that I can actually fall asleep. I'd much rather wake up at 5am or something and just see him asleep beside me. Here's hoping!

Ok I definitely feel rotten after that chinese... Think i ate too close to bed time and I ate too much.

I'm gonna call it a night xx

Good evening everyone,

Sunday already and I am in complete relaxation mode. Apartment is clean, I had a gorgeous shower and I'm in PJs, and I even have my clothes for work laid out. I feel like I can really relax now. We got a move to watch too so i'm thinking it'll be snuggle up movie time and then in bed asleep by 12.

I had a great weekend with OH and his parents at the Dublin Bay Prawn Festival. It was great fun. We went to all the food tents which had amazing seafood. Everything from cajun fish and chips to seafood chowder to calamari and a MASSIVE Paella! It was quite spectacular. I wanted Calamari (bold I know) but they ran out so I had some seafood chowder which was gorgeous. The place looked so pretty too. It's a beautiful Harbour town in Dublin and a fishing village. Donal Skehan, who is an Irish television chef was there shooting an epidose of his show and we could all see it being filmed. It was really cool!

We had a few drinks and then went for an Italian meal which I was really quite disappointed by. I ordered Bruchetta for my starter and then pasta for my main course. It was king prawn linguine pasta with sundried tomatoes and spinach. I must have read it wrong because when it arrived it had no sauce at all. It was just an oil and I really didn't like that. Kind of sickening. I ate it anyway, along with some garlic foccachia. It was all extremely synful. I also had half an ice cream afterwards. It wasn't insanely bad but it was deeeefinitely bad.

Today wasn't a whole lot better! For breakfast I had a banana, yoghurt and a slice of amazing hazelnut and fig bread (bold but so gorgeous). For lunch we went to a BBQ place in Dublin. Again bold but this has been the trend of the weekend. I ordered pulled pork on a roll and the porn was amazing! I only ate half though and OH ate the other half. I also had some chips but not loads.

Since then I've had a big bowl of soup with lots of superfree, a Mango, and I might have some sort of yoghurt and tea later was a little movie snack.

Hopefully 2/3 really good days should redeem me after the weekend. I'm also doing Zumba on Wednesday night and I'll do an hours walk on Tuesday and Friday as I can't tomorrow or Thursday! I'm going for a meal on Thursday with my work collegue. It's mexican so it will also be quite synful and then next weekend involves two nights out but hopefully that shouldn't mean bad food. All in all I need to make sure that the next 3 says are reeeeally good to make up for this weekend and also helps with damage limitation for Thursday's meal.

Plan of action is to have 5 syns or less for the next three days. That will be hard but I am determined. I am going to have big salads for lunch for the next few days also. Lots of superfree, loads of water and limiting snacking to green tea, yoghurts and fruit. Has to be done!

Has anyone ever tried Alphonso Mangos? They are incredible and can be usually found in Indian/Halal supermarkets and food shops. Their flavour is incredible. They should be in season now so go get some and you won't regret it :)

PSS, has anyone tried these? Bought them today as I seen them advertised in a magazine. I hope they're nice!

Since my last post I have had a sandwhich made with smoked pork, lettuce, cheese and extra light mayo. Half a packet of velvet crunch, a fredo bar, a muller light dessert, 2 cups of tea and half a mars icecream. Literally 20 syns in the space of 30 minutes. What is WRONG with me?

Big changes from tomorrow...

We're having burgers for dinner but i'm going to have mine without a bun, as difficult as that will be, and I'll have it with lots of salad. No carbs or healthy extra b for me tomorrow!! I need to have an unreal day tomorrow and drink gallons of water.

Feeling a bit out of control but I know i'll be fine!

Oops. You and me both Tracey! I'm currently scoffing a bag of peanut brittle from the box my American friend sent over. Why do we do it?! Soo looking forward to my fast day tomorrow and I will stick to it. You'll manage your 100% day too :) xx
