Tracey's healthy yummy lovely journey

Food looking lovely there! Whats the 2nd pic? :) xx

Thanks hun, I didn't mean to post the steak one again, it was just SO gorgeous :worthy:

The second pic is an omlette OH made me with chickpeas, mushrooms, pickles, butternut squash, coriander and cheese. It was gorgeous!!

the third was homemade syn-free Enchiladas which were one of the nicest things I have made so far and I will definitely be making these a lot.

Sounds yummy! Can you put up the enchiladas when you get a mo? Might try that one next week! :) xx

Hey congrats on the weight loss! Food is looking so yummy, enchiladas look gorgeous!

Been thinking of your challenge I have an idea that could up the money your donating! I'm a manager on William hill and I'm 99% sure you can bet on yourself to lose weight! You have to contact the head office and get official stats from the doctor, but they will give you odds I'm sure someone got 7/1 which means even if you put £10 on it you would have £80 to give to your charity! Could be worth investigating.

Hope everything on the flat front is getting better for you and have fun tonight with your friend xx

I'm quite pissed off because i went over my syns completely by accident. I read online that if you order grilled Halloumi cheese in Nandos it's only 3 syns. So today I bought Halloumi and grilled some myself. I cut two pieces that looked exactly the same quantity as I had in nandos last night. It ended up being 60g. So then I look up syns online and it says that 28g of Halloumi is 4 syns which means I had 8 syns! If that's the case HOW is it 3 syns in Nandos for the 2 slices (serving) very annoyed :(

In other news, our dinner was incredible. Medditeranian style. Amazing sirloin steak, bug salad with leaves, cooked asian greens, cooked mushrooms, grilled halloumi (grrr) and on the side a red pepper salsa, balsamic roasted tomatoes and hexb wholemeal pita. It was amazing!!

I am so happy I was within my syns. I really didn't think I would be after the Halloumi travesty!

Hi Tracey

Just browsing your diary and wanted to say I'm really enjoying it!

Anyway just so you know Tesco do a light halloumi - now I've not had it since I started SW so I'm not sure of the syns but I'm sure its going to be less and every little helps right!

Ah no, the cheek of them scoffing your food :p We're going to have burgers tomorrow night which I'm really looking forward to! So simple to make but so damn tasty. Think we'll have them with BBQ beans which are a favourite of mine at the moment!

I have Zumba tomorrow night too, and I am going Thursday. I've never been two days in a row so I'm a little bit nervous but I'm sure I'll be fine!

With the Lasagne sheets I find if you only put two in the water when it's literally bubbling boiling then they don't stick. Just let them bubble away for about 3 minutes and seperate with a spoon so they don't touch if you need to. The filling is lovely isn't it? I have become very in to Chinese 5 Spice at the moment!

Hope you are having a great day too, also WELL done on your weightloss, you're doing great. Out stats are very similar x

I know right and I was starving haha, bbq beans sound lovely but I don't really like beans :( Having meatballs today so excited for them :)

My friend can't go to zumba tonight and to be honest I dont know will she go again, but I am going to just face the fear and go by myself, another girl from college said she might go, but even if not I want to go as I really enjoyed it and sweated so much!! 2 days in a row should be fine but I would say you will feel it afterwards :) there is something kinda satisfying about exercise pains though in a weird way?!

Yea that is how i kinda managed the lasagne sheets in the end but took a while to figure it out!

Aw thanks :) I have taken the scenic route with plenty of gains but I am in the zone at the moment as you are :) Yea we are very similar and both irish too :) Whats for dinner today? xx

How embarrassing, I mean't *check lol. Though I would definitely prefer of it was a 'cheque' if I'm really honest haha.

Work is a right pain at the moment. Our internet has been down for 2 full days now with no real idea of when it will he back. This is a reallu busy period for us and I have insanely high sales targets yet I can't even access my emails to respond to enquiries. It really is a disaster and I have no idea where I am with sales. My boss is naturally peed off about it so the general attitude in the office is not good at all. I also feel pressured to make myself look busy when all of the things I will actually get in trouble for (ie not making sales target) I can't do at all.Grrr! In the midst of it today I had some chocolate but I'm not putting it totally down to comfort eating as I really fancied chocolate yesterday if you remember.

OH and I are eating out tonight at a local chinese restaurant, purely because our apartment is being used for something and we need to make ourselves scarce so cooking etc isn't an option. I'm rather looking forward to it but it means I will most likely be over my syns by quite a bit. I'll just pull back tomorrow though.

Breakfast - alpen light bar (3) a banana, handful of grapes and a camomile tea

Snack - 8 lindt thins. These are teeny weeny and are apparently 0.5 syn each so that would be 4 syns. I really fancied chocolate so I had it!

Lunch - 2 WW wholemeal bread, 40g reduced fat cheddar (HexA) honey roast ham, lettuce, coriander, cherry tomatoes, and gherkins. Snack size packet of rancheros (2.5) and a kiwi.

So that's 6 syns so far today. Realistically I have 9 left so I should be OK once I order something like chicken and sweetcorn soup and chicken blackbean with veg and rice. It will definitely be either that or chow mein. I will also mention that I am allergic to oil as I so often do ;)

Are you allergic to oil? Or does it get them to cook things without oil? It's a good idea, I love Chinese but avoid it due to the oil on everything. Love a bit plate of noodles and beansprouts :)

I'm not allergic to oil :D but when I'm ordering chinese, or Wagamama I tell them I am allergic to oil and ask them to use a miniscule amount and they are always very accomodating ;)

I love chinese, and usually go for something like chicken and vegetable chow mein, chicken and veg with Oyster sauce, or chicken or beef with veg and blackbean sauce. All served with either boiled rice or noodles! I always allow some extra syns just to be safe but it's never caused me any problems if it's just once a week or something, and there is plenty of veg involved. Sometimes I ask for extra veg even!

Hello :D

Oh you're Irish? I didn't notice that until now. Where abouts are you from? I'm a Dublin girl myself!

Dinner tonight will most likely be a lean mince and vegetable chilli with some long stem brocolli. I have been a bit bold the past day or so and I really need to pull back now so I'm thinking a nice vegetable filled carbless dinner, lots of water and Zumba tonight and tomorrow will do the trick. Where do you do your Zumba class? Imagine we were going to the same one haha!

Yes I LOVE Zumba but I still have that feeling of dread that I get when I have to do ANTHING after work haha! I'll be delighted come tomorrow evening after I've done both, and as you said you sweat so much so I feel I will somewhat make up for the bad day or so that I have had.

Plenty of gains is fine so long as you are going down in some way, and you are! I can't wait to get past my personal lowest (13 stone, 12lb). I only ever got there once and it was when I had a 10 day tummy bug:eek: haha!

What you having for dinner?

I ended up having a very naughty day yesterday and I really felt crap after it. I totally binged and took the **** and was generally reckless. It's been a while since I've actively sabotaged myself. Anyway it felt terrible and I will not be doing it again. I'm talking crisps, chocolate, cake - the works. Waaaaaay over my syns! I woke up this morning with major regrets. I can't change it but I can definitely learn from it, and I will!

Plan of action for today was to a) have no treats, have no carbs with dinner, have lots of superfree and have no healthy extra A. It's actually been quite hard to be honest.

Here's today's food...

Breakfast - grapes, apple and fresh orange juice (1)

Lunch - m&s count on us british basil chicken pasta salad with tomatoes and spinach. Ok can someone please check the syns in this for me? I may have the name wrong but it's in and around that. I've heard it's 5.5 but then another page said 10.5. I no longer have access to the app or website so I would really appreciate if someone could check it for me. Thanks :)

M&S Carrot and reduced fat hummous (2)

Dinner - chilli made with extra lean mince, tomatoes, courgette, green beans, spring onion, mushroom, broccoli, peppers, chilli, garlic and served with fat free fromage frais.

Snack - grapes, 2 sugar free tea biscuits (1) and a toffee muller light

HexA - milk in 2 teas
HexB - none

Syns - either 14 or 9 depending on what the syns of my count on us pasta salad ends up being!

At least you've done some damage limitation. I've not been well behaved either but have exercised more :)

I am a waterford girl myself so not too far really but then again Ireland is tiny :p

Dinner sounds lovely :) how do you make your chilli? i made the "cowboy pie" recipe today, everyone in my group was raving about it I think it was in a magazine or somethin? just had it with half chips half rice and it was so nice!! I was bod at the weekend myself and had to cut out loads of syns all week to try have my first 100% week in absolutely ages! Hoping to see a good loss tomorrow! At least you have pulled it back after being a bit bad, there is a lot to say for your determination if you slip up and get right back on track :) Yea the same zumba class would have been very funny :) I do it down here though, went last night and my god I am feeling it today :D I am just going mad I didnt try it sooner!

Funny that you say it I am kinda at back to my lowest SW weight at the minute - in and around the weight I am now is the weight I was when I left it last summer and put a lot back on, can't seem to break through this number though but hoping this week I finally will! :) xx

Scratch my above asking for the recipe for the chilli I see it here :)

Also I quickly checked my syn directory and online and couldn't seem to find the pasta salad anywhere :( found a few other flavours e.g. fajita one which was around 6 so maybe go a little higher than this in case, Sorry xx

You definitely will break past that that number, you go girl!

The chilli is really easy to make.

Whatever veg you want + extra lean mince all cooked together in a pan with spray oil (i used onion, garlic, half a chilli, courgette, peppers, mushrooms, spring onion, green beans and broccoli) then add 1 carton of passata, 1 tablespoon of balmasic vinegar, half a teaspoon of cumin, half a teaspoon of cinamin, 1 tea spoon of smoked paprika and 1/4 teaspoon of mild chilli powder. Let it bubble away for 15 mins on a simmer and serve with rice/chips and a dollop o fat free fromage frais! All free and so tasty.

Can you point me in the direction of the cowboy pie recipe? It sounds lovely! I definitely want to try it :)

I'll be leaving in a few for Zumba. I'm quite excited now actually. Still haven't heard back frim my friend yet about whether she's going tomorrow so I'll wait and see!

Yea hopefully I will lose a nice amount this week, I think I would be happy with 2 pound but we shall see!

Thanks for the chilli recipe will def try it, I made one a few weeks ago but twas fairly complicated (lots of ingredients),

Cowboy pie is not too dissimilar to chilli actually but I thought it was nicer, I added more of some things to the recipe to bulk it out:

Extra Lean mince, 3 peppers (one of each colour), an onion ( I used two), mushrooms (I used a full pack), A clove of garlic (i used 2), 150ml beef stock (i added an extra dash of water),1 tin baked beans, 1 tbsp chilli flakes (i didnt have these just used aldi/lidl (not sure which) hot chilli powder which also has paprika, cumin etc in it, oh and I added nearer to 2), 1 tbsp tomoto puree (2 again), 1 tbsp tabasco sauce (was scared of this so stuck to the one haha), 1 tbsp worcester sauce (2 again)

I also added a dash of soy sauce too :)

heres the best part: literally put all of the above in a pot together (no browning of mince or frying of veg needed but if you want to, do) and simmer on a low heat for a few hours :) I did it yesterday as I always think things like that taste better the next day, simmered for a while today again and I added extra tomato puree to adjust it to my taste, its meant to be like a taco chip when you have it over chips with cheese :) I had half chips/rice and it was so nice!! Had a huge portion and so did my dad and there is still some left for tomorrow, i might have it in a wrap tomorrow with salad nom nom nom :) Sorry if the recipe is confusing I didnt doctor much just added extra of stuff, mine was quite spicy though so adjust it to your own taste :)

Enjoy Zumba hun xx

just had a choc mini milk (1.5) so had 9.5 syns today!!

and three more mikados... so 11 syns haha to be honest I could scoff a family sized dairy milk right now ... xx
