Tracy's Journey Into The Unknown (Maintenance!!)

Can you give them a ring and ask what it entails when that particular surgeon does it? It WILL get better lovely! :) The fear of the unknown (and the surgery too as it's a HUGE thing!) is a bugger - but you are ten times the size of them! (metaphorically obviously, because you're tiny now obv! :D )

Thanks, hon! Actually I'm feeling a bit happier, because a friend of mine had a knee replacement today, and I've spoken to her on Facebook. She was determined to have a general anaesthetic, but they persuaded her to have one of the other options, and she says it was fine, she can't remember a thing! But they did give her the choice. :) xx

Glad to hear it :) And doubly glad to feel you're feeling easier - and that your friend has been able to give you a little bit of an insiders guide to it.

Have my fingers tightly crossed for you :) xx

Wow!!! That is awesome well done Tracy! :) what an achievement!! Xx

Well I weighed in at 10st 10.5lbs today, which happens to be exactly 50% of my starting weight. So I am now quite literally half the woman I was, lol. :D xx

Absolutely amazing Tracy you should be so so proud, we all are of you!!! Now to continue with maintenance hey xx

Thank you everyone, your support really does mean a lot to me! :)

Kym, no I really couldn't have imagined it! I knew I was almost twice the weight I should be, but all I really thought I could achieve was to make things a bit better. I remember thinking how happy I'd be at a comfortable size 18, and now I'm buying 12s. :)

I'll be relying on all you ladies to help keep me strong over the next few months as I panic my way to knee replacement, lol. :) xx

Hello my lovely!

Amazing news about the op date - don't be scared hun, it's the best thing ever - and you'll be so mobile, you just won't know yourself :D

And OMG to being half your size - that is just sensationally wonderful, you are a superstar! xxx

Thank you Susie! :) I just want to get to the op date now, so I can get it done!! :) xx

What things are you looking forward to once you recover from your op? :) try and look past the op to the better life you will have x

Thanks, hon! :) I think the real benefits for me will come once I've had both knees done, and I can hopefully get some proper mobility back. Just simple things like being able to walk round a supermarket or go shopping with my sister or daughter are what I'd like to be able to do. :) xx

Aww that will be lovely though after a long time of struggling most simple things in life are the best aren't they :) x

That is quite simply, amazing. I love the little % stat in your statistics bar, 50% exactly! WOW. That's just all.

We are right behind you, the entire time :D Not pushing though because that's mean ;)

I'll push. I'm mean :D

Lol, feel free to push Stack! :D My biggest worry is that I'll put weight on after my op. I know I haven't with the last three I've had, but knee replacement is more serious stuff, so I've got to be careful not to turn to food to distract me from the pain! :) xx

You've just got to set yourself a realistic limit of weight that you simply will not allow yourself to go over, maybe 1/2 - 1 stone buffer. Which you can then shift again when you're back on you're feet zooming around the supermarkets :D
