Tracy's Journey Into The Unknown (Maintenance!!)

Quick update from the bionic woman! New knee now installed!! I had a spinal block, so was semi-conscious throughout - very weird, lol. But at least that stopped it hurting for quite a while afterwards, and I wish it was still in place! :D xx

Bless you gorgeous! So glad to hear from you - and hear that it went well too. You'll soon be zooming around after your second one ;)

muchmuchmuch love xxx Keep your chin up chick!

Thanks, everyone! They took my morphine drip away, so I'm now feeling the full horror, lol. I've just begged for some relief and been given morphine orally, as well as high strength codeine, so hopefully it will subside soon and I can enjoy my tea! :D xx

Glad it went well!

Hope the painkillers kicked in so you can enjoy your tea :) how is the hospital food?

Good to hear your op went well! I found the Tramadol was good .. But take 30 min-1 hours to kick in.. So used to take with dycodamol ... Wouldn't use tramadol to take home but is great for the start ..

Thanks, hon! The food isn't too bad at all - of course I'm picking the naughtiest dessert from each menu, lol. :D But my leg has now gone very swollen and painful and I've got a temperature. :(:( xx

Hope your ok hun xx

Hey guys, I'm still here, plodding along, lol. The pain got really bad yesterday, as my leg swelled up a lot more, so I had a nightmare night with it - it definitely reached the heights of childbirth pain, which had been how I was measuring it since the op! I'm trying to do my physio exercises, but it's really hard to move my leg because of the swelling. They'd said to just keep trying and the movement will come eventually. :)

I dread to think what my weight must be right now, what with all the swelling and the the fact that I haven't, umm, "been" since Thursday, but I'm trying not to think about it too much! :D

I hope everyone else is doing ok? :) xx

Sorry to hear your leg is still so swollen.. Don't worry about your weight :) just concentrate on get on your feet :)

Get some kiwi fruit, grapefruit (if your allowed?) .. Did they give you something to help? As they offered me some after my should op .. Seemed to help .. But also ate loads of kiwi fruit

Thanks, Tara! I'm hoping they'll give me something to help, because I'm so bloated - they certainly feed you enough in here, my emergency rations I brought in with me are untouched so far, lol. :D xx

Maybe you need to ask ? As I think I asked as I knew what the drugs do to me from having the boys via c-section.. Etc

Thanks, hon! It's nothing I hadn't been warned about in advance, but of course the reality still hits hard, lol. :)

Ooh, homemade cheesecake sounds divine, I don't blame you for having some! I'm certainly getting well fed in here, I've not felt hungry at all, except for the day of my op, of course, when I had to wait until about 8pm for anything to eat or drink. The worst bit was in the morning, having to watch everyone else in the bay having their breakfast, coffee break and lunch, all before I went down to theatre - that was tough!! :D xx
