Hi all

Feeling a bit down this week .... my exercises haven't been going so well - I can only get about half way through before my calf muscles hurt so much I can't carry on ... I feel such a failure when I have to stop - that I think it's bringing me down :(

Anyway - been doing some research on the net today, and it seems it could be calf strain ... so I think I will give up on the running for a while and go back to walking up hill and using the bike. Thinking about it - calfs aren't built to have 18 stone of fat bounding down on them at such force :(

Am sticking to my diet, but finding it really hard this week, but will perservere.

Haven't posted much as don't want to share the gloom. Hopefully I can get my head round the fact that I'm not a failure and get back in the zone soon!

oh twiggs you will be fine we are all here to be used as a sounding board lol. have you thought maybe your calves are hurting through overdoing it. maybe just change what you're doing for a bit and they will be fine. i only walk and occasionally do the tram pet and a bit of step and my legs ache.take care x x
 
hope your calves are better soon, there must be something in the air this week, lots people seem to be feeling a bit glum. hope you feel better soon, and well done for sticking at it when you feel like this
 
oh Twiglet I am so sorry for the pain and the gain
I will be back supporting you as soon as my holiday is over
in fact as you know I want to buy the book when I get back - perhaps with your hurting calf muscles and my dodgy knees we can do the program together but slow it down a bit to help our bodies
give it some thought while I am away
 
Hi Twigs

There seems to be a bit of a dpwn clous settling over everyone this week so you're not alone. Your legs will recover but in the meantime its not failure to walk again instead, failure is giving up.

You're not a failure - you're doing brilliantly - big well done to you for remaining 100% whilst feeling a bit off - wish I could say the same ...............
 
Hey lady what is this word failure that I have read in your diary!! You are NOT a failure, you are doing absolutely brilliantly. Look at the loss you had, 5lbs is amazing, and like Rach said I have a little trend that when I lose big I have a little gain afterwords!

You will get back to the exercise, your calfs are just telling you that they need a little break but they'll catch up soon.

Keep going chick as you are doing very very well!

Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit glum twiggs..just think your legs are telling you to take it a bit easier & slow down a tad!

haha - well our neighbours are a big problem - they're a big asian family and it's always somebody's birthday, or celebrating some prophet day (sorry I'm not religious in the slightest) and they ALWAYS give us food - home made curries, samosas etc .. Yum but baaaaad lol

I didn't know they were asian - how do you cope - the smells from their cooking must be divine - there was an asian/indian family in the flat 2 doors from me & every night when I came home from work I walked past & smelt their cooking - was divine - have just found out that they have moved somewhere else though - maybe next to you ?! lol.....
 
I lived with an Asian girl at uni and it was so funny, she couldn't cook a thing so she went home to Glasgow every weekend and came back with little tubs full of food that her mum had made for her, it was amazing!! And the spicey tea she made every morning, the whole flat smelled gorgeous, yum yum!
 
Hi all :)

I've been lurking the last few days ... not jumped back on that wagon yet!

Going to Spain for a week with Sharon on Sunday so will start again after that.

In the meantime expecting a gain tomorrow at class, but not that bothered (not sure why! lol).

Hope everyone's well, I'm going back to lurking for a few days - busy busy busy!
