O.M.G.
Ive just called and started the whole adoption process! They are sending me a pack and it all goes from there. Im sooooo nervous. They say they like the adoptive child to be the youngest and 3yrs younger than your own. They also say that not many very young children get placed so im not holding out much hope. Just a very long wait! Oh well its starting now and if this man comes to pay a deposit for the boat (yes we are selling as we miss camping too much) then mark is taking us to a lovely pub garden for dinner. I feel a chicken or steak salad moment! Lol

Is there any specific age child you want Cheryl? Ooh best of luck xxxx

Yes make sure you stick to your new diet!

Im being good hun. I promise.
Id love a tiny one and from what the site says if we get agreed we would be allowed one under 2. I think i have it right. Id love one of that age, i thik its the whole no memories thing of remembering being taken or left by their birth parents. that conversation if they remember would be even more heartbreaking.

AWW Cheryl and PMSL Lisa!!!

Leanne can i ask why it wasnt for you? I need to think of everything and any little help ....well....it helps

My career will keep me busy for years yet and I felt it would be unfair on the child to adopt and then stick them with a childminder or nanny. I can't actually have kids myself so I just considered it as an option really.

:soapbox: erm.... nope Im keeping schtum :ignore:

No i was gonna agree with you re childminders... ;) x

Ahh Leanne i think thats lovely. Thinking of the child before your work needs. Most people woulndt think like that and still go ahead. I think we are lucky with that as we both work shifts so there is one of us at home all the time. I wouldnt want to use childminders. My mum was a nanny for 3 girls and their behaviour was terrible but it was because they never saw their own parents mon to fri at all (unless they woke up during the night) and come sat their dad was always down the pub or at footie with his mates so the girls would play up for attention. So sad.
I didnt mean to pry but just wondered if the whole process was so daunting or something else had put you off. Ive just come back from the drs and i told her......she laughed and said but you can have your own! Surely its not just people that cant have children? I really dont like that dr!
