Hi Vicky - sorry can't get excited by your menu today - my tummy aches just looking at it! look forward to seeing how it works for you xxx

Ooo that looks yummy vicky - I miss bread so much.

I know it's early days but how are you finding it so far?

I'm really interested in trying this but worried about whether I could manage it without too many side effects and whether i could be strong enough to eat a moderate level of carbs without going silly - normally I only have to look at a carb and my tummy blows up like a balloon. Mind you, to me high carb means pizza, chips, pasta and so on and so on.....

I have been hungry today ! Just had scrambled egg on toast ! Going to the gym in an hour or so ! Can't believe carbs make me so hungry!!!
Im sure I'll get used to it eventually :) you need to have good carbs not bad ones !!!!!!!!! Am looking forward to day off on saturday though :)

you need to have good carbs not bad ones !!!!!!!!!

Yeah that would be my problem... while your menu looks appealing (at least the bread bit!), I know I'd go overboard once I inched open those floodgates! How much did you lose on Atkins before switching? As you know, like you, my weight isn't falling off on Dukan as it usually does, after the initial water weight loss, so I'm having to hang in there!

What's this evening off Saturday then?

Jo I lost five lbs on Atkins but I am doing more exercise than ever and when you dont have carbs in your body you can end up using your muscles to produce glucose for energy and would (as tests have shown) be possibly half of overall loss of weight. I dont want or need muscle wastage I want strong and lean. I will have low carb on my low exercise days but high carb on my high exercise days. You also get a day or meal off and that will be Saturday :) (Chinese takeaway on white wine)

Low carb today
B sausage egg muffin
L prawn avocado lettuce cucumber smaller amount of mayo than usual
S coconut greek yogurt with raspberries and blackberries
D roast chicken and kale when I get back from checking on mums house and food shopping.

Ex day off
W more than usual

Worked my legs last night oh the pain this morning! Did sone sprinting intervals on treadmill too ! Good job I have my music in as I'm sure the noise of my heavy feet would put me off :)

Morning!

It's true about not feeling full on carbs, I noticed how hungry I was not long after eating when I tried SW for a bit.

Menu sounds lovely, love the sound of the berries :)

Evening all. No exercise for me today and I've missed it. Been food shopping for healthy stuff and my hubby has got what I called 'heart attack in a trolley' loads of sh*t sweets pasties micro burgers MingIng!!!! I feel so virtuous!!!! Ivetold him this is the last week he needs to lose some weight for his health more than anything.

It's true that those sorts of foods do not appeal in the slightest... but your berries sounded lovely! I certainly won't be doing this once decent fruits come into season! Dukan also doesn't recommend strenuous exercise and it's great if you can just have the good carbs as it's far better training for the "after life" [diet life of course ;)] than doing what I am!

As for your hubby... I say the same to mine so he's restarted Dukan with me and losing far quicker the rotter!
