What are we eating today?

Hey guys...

feeling really sick today & my blood glucose is up so feeling pants, not hungry at all. Probably a protein shake just to try & drop my BG's & feel better. x

Awww Sona, sorry to hear that hun. I have been having a lot of dental treatment in recent months and face more soon. No fun!

Breakfast: Chocolate MIM with key lime cream cheese frosting.

Lunch: Omelette with broccoli, cauliflower and fresh tomatoes.

Dinner: Flaxmeal mini-pizza with tomato, cheese and herb topping

How do you make a chocolate MIM? Is it alright to have more than 1 in the same day?

Sona - hope the dentist goes okay, sounds "OUCH!".

Dentist wasnt soo bad! he was abig burtch guy and had my root out in minutes! nearly pulled the rest of my insides out with it! Mouth is very sore at the moment and im loaded with co-odomol so im on a high... still at work tho! gona be a tough day. Have avoided any horrib bleeds.

L- cauliflower cheese (struggled with this a bit)
S- MIM with cream cheese
D- quiche if i can manage it!

Last night for dinner i has scrammbled egg..and later mixed a tablesppon n cream cheese n cream with splends for a lil cheesecake flavour.. moussy thing.

Didn't post a daily menu yesterday too busy work early, dashed out for an hour and a half to pick up DH from airport took him home then back to work shouting oops sorry there's no milk i'm low carbing you'll have to have cream in your coffee. Had a glass of wine (only one i promise) in the evening - no idea how to count it so i didn't :) Blimey it went straight to my head!

Today:-
B - bacon, eggs and a Quorn sausage from a pack of them i found lurking in the freezer (i think 1.4g net carbs)
L - 1oz cheese and salad with mayo and a little x virgin o.o.
D - [STRIKE]Jim's meatball recipe (didn't make them the other day - no pork mince in the store!)[/STRIKE] OK i've been shopping and am now having stir-fried turkey and veg

Im meeting my parensts for ameal tomorow.. will be a nice restarant and I havent seen my parents for almost 3 months! Do you think it would be ok for me to have one normal meal for one night then get back on track? in prep for my evening meal i will have a light lunch and a light dinner... It will be at an indian restarant so will try to stay as low carb as possible....

Whats worse... chapatti, naan bread or rice?

a MIM is a Muffin in Minutes! and its very nice! its made of flaxseed
you can cook it in the microwave and enjoy it within min!! its like a muffin / breadroll.

the people on here are ace and always happy to help and explain anything you want to know (re atkins!)
 
Thank you Sona, do you know where i can get a recipie from, or can you buy them made, also how many carbs do they contain? Congrats on the weight loss you must be feeling really good :)
 
thanks wendy! but most of that WL was from last year! i havent lost zilch for ages!! only put the ticker on today to make myself feel better!! lolz

the muffins.. off the top of my head

2 tablespoons of flaxseed
1 teaspoon on splends granulas
tip of the teaspoon of baking powder
mix this up

add a tablespoon of butter (not heaped) or oil
1 egg
mix it up with the dry stuff above.

put it in a muj of a small dessert plate and pop in the microwave for a min + some seconds ..

it will rise like a fairly cake / muffin..
pop it out to cool and enjoy.

this is about 2 carbs. so tak it easy! they are nice and the flaxseed helps with ur fiber intake and digestive system... atleast it helps me when i have a muffin in the morning and one at night! lolz

B - homemade burger
L - salad, hard boiled eggs, mayo
D - salmon, green beans, broccoli, homemade cheese sauce (butter, cream and grated cheese)

Decaff coffee with cream, 2L water

Welcome Wendy, if you haven't got the Atkins book already i would advise you buy it - Amazon, secondhand book shop or ebay.

I found the sticky info really helpful when i first started.

Jim, our resident Atkins expert recommends keeping it green and clean for the induction phase of the plan and i can't say i disagree. Try to stick to meat, cheese, eggs, butter, cream and green leafy salad and veg for the first two weeks and you will almost certainly lose and get off to a great start!

Hi can anyone tell me if any uk supermarkets stock low carb bread or pasta?

I have never seen any, but I dont miss bread or pasta after the first couple of days, my craving for them goes to practically nil so maybe see how you feel in a couple of days. There are online low carb supermarkets
