getting back on track
Some inspiration, might help people who are new to slimming world.......
1. Do it for yourself not for OH, or anyone else.
2. Banish all bad foods, have a complete clear out and replace with fresh fruit, veg, crackers, brown bread, brown rice etc.
3. Drink loads of water all day, hot lemon is lovely.
4. Tell friends and family so you have a support network.
5. Aim for realistic losses, like 1 to 2lb a week. A special occasion Christening, Birthday, Wedding etc, are great for you to set yourself mini weight loss goals.
6. Never look at the whole amount of weight you have to lose, because it might put you off, break it down.
7. Cook from fresh wherever possible, and try not to rely on processed foods.
8. Up the exercise whether it be walking, cycling with the kids, swimming, it all helps, and speeds up the metabolism.
9. Find some old photos you dislike, and put them in the kitchen, on the fridge and the food cupboards.
10. Realise that we are all human and sometimes it will seem impossible, you'll have bad days, and may want to give up, be prepared for these times, and next day start again.
11. Keep a food diary and write everything down as soon as you are eating it, not at the end of the day, as little things get forgotten.
12. Measure yourself all over, and when the scales show no change, the measurements should, and that will keep you going.
13. Only weigh yourself once a week, The scales are objects of mass dieting destruction!
14. Take something thats free out with you, then if there is temptation all around, you can munch on your good healthy weight loss food and feel included.
15. Don't look on this as a diet, punishment or just sheer torture, it is healthy eating, it's doing you good, and it will produce the results you want if you stick with it.
16. When it is * week or the hunger is strong, divert your attention elsewhere, play with the kids, go for a walk, have a bath, up the exercise, paint your nails, drink lots of water, organize a treat-manicure, hair cut, anything! and wait for it to pass , you will feel so proud when you manage not to give in!
17. Why not get yourself a weight loss ticker, have a chart in your kitchen or anywhere, and when you're having a down moment look at it and smile at your progress.
18. Never feel alone, there are plenty of us losing weight, we know how it feels, and we are happy to help if we can!!
19. Imagine all the lovely clothes you will be able to wear, the summer swimsuits, shorts, strappy tops etc, how much better you will feel, how healthier your body will be, how much energy you will have, and how gorgeous/handsome you will look.
20. Be good, be motivated, keep determined and before you know it, it will show, Good luck x
