¡¡ʎǝuɹnoɾ s,ǝpuolqǝǝzʇıp - same old, same old!

Im unsure - there maybe someone else who has done this before can be of more help? xxx

I've done it before, lost 7 stone in 4 months for my wedding in 2003 by eating 550 cals & 60g of carbs per day ( was incredibly restrictive both foodwise & socially!!) & of course I learnt nothing about re-introducing foods which is why I've piled it all (and some more) back on again...

I also have tried the Cambridge diet but didn't last longer than a week which is why I'm wondering if I did something similar for a week would be enough just to trick my body into losing something?? Then at least I'll be in ketosis to come back to induction??

Need to work out the lower fat side of things with Atkins too so maybe a week away from food will give me time to think it all thru??

Confused of Nutley!! x

Maybe a change would kick start you again Linz, though the carb count looks scary to me.

Suck it and see as we say in the Army love.

I totally understand that Linz.

I cant see you screwing up the whole weight loss hon. Maybe give atkins another week then if still no joy try the TFR? xxx

i wouldn't do something so drastic now as you are obviously planning on celebrating OH's birthday. and you'd knock yourself off plan then? stick with what you know honey. change the types of fat you are eating maybe? concentrate on things like avocados (mind you, not sure how carby they are?) and oils etc rather than chorizoish type stuff? also, if your hormones are doing strange things then that will affect things.

I don't know what TFR is but I imagine it is a VLCD?

It is frustrating when we go from coasting along, losing regularly, to stalling.

If you have just started to exercise bear in mind that muscles need glycogen to function and on less than 60g carbs daily they will cling to extra water etc to help them get through these workouts! This water retention shows up on the scales, right away. Heavy, vigorous exercise is not recommended on VLCDs (SS) for this very reason. Injuries can result from under-fuelled muscle stress.

On Atkins we eat more calories but restrict carbs even more. It is tempting to try to 'shake up' the weight loss by restricting calories again but this may go against us when we go back to regular Atkins. Be careful not to shoot yourself in the foot out of impatience and disappointment. We have messed up our metabolisms pretty badly over the years and under-eating won't help.

A stall is a minimum of 4 weeks with no weight or inch losses. Mine lasted eight weeks then 9lb dropped off in one month. I am close to goal so slower losses are to be expected.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do but please think carefully!

42 mins done on the wii fit this morning!! Really enjoying it!

Todays plan, kids are in the garden (more gorgeous sunshine), washings on & off shopping this afternoon to get some final bits of Hubby's birthday on Sat!

Jakeys if off at football camp for 4 hours this afternoon, he's got it all week & was beat yesterday when he got home! Hubby is off to Reading to watch them play footie so its a girls night for me & Amalie... plan on doing some more on the wii later!

Food decision!!!!

I'm going back to strict induction & going to watch my calories too, try to keep them 1200-1500 per day. I think alot of my problem has been carb creep & I need to get back in control, its crazy to think of doing something else when this does work really well for me! Best pick up some goodies when out later as the cupboard is bare!!

Have a good one... hope you all have the warm sunshine too. xxx

Morning Linzi, ah yes the dreaded carb creep, we all suffer from that now and then love.

morning hon - send some sunshine please its horrid here :(

It's quite nice here, I'm going to take a walk along the canal at lunchtime, I'll pinch some bread from the staff kitchen to feed the ducks and geese.
