♥ ~ Tanya's Maintainence Diary ~ Year 2 ~♥

Glad it wasn't so bad hun! But if he told you to rest I think you need to rest! :p
You can get ibuprofen gel as well which might help x

Yep, I use that at the minute :) infact, i'm almost out so need to get some more! lol

Get your Dad to get a repeat prescription then ;)

Glad you haven't done any damage. This is the trouble with high impact stuff. I know grass is one answer but it's my belief (check though) that sand is another ... therefore you can do it on holiday ..... ONLY JOKING!!! :)
Make sure you do rest it though won't you! xx

So glad you had the knee checked out. Better be safe than sorry a few years later.

:rotflmao: hahahahahaha not a chance of me running on holiday!!! :p x

I've just had a brain wave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Plymouth Uni does a physiotherapy course sooooo I'm going to try find out if the students hold sessions whilst they are training ... Might make it a bit cheaper?

I know dental students do it so maybe other courses do to :fingerscrossed:

Spot on idea about checking out the Physio students for treatment. That would be great if you could get it organised.

Glad you saw the soc and got things sorted out a little. Checking out the uni sounds a great idea!

Sounds like u had a fab weekend.

What is it with blokes n last minute shopping, we are going thurs afternoon for t-shirts for OH, we went sat but couldn't find anything for him so who knows if we will find anything?!

Hope the knee fixes itself soon and that's a fab idea about checking uni out :) x x

My friend who did sports therapy at uni has given me the number but there is no answer at the minute so will try again.

Great news today guys - got woken up at 10am by my little brother ... he's passed his driving test!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :party0049:

I'm itching to get out for a run but I wont. Advice on the runnersforum is listen to the doc. I am going to go for a bike ride though. Going to leave it untill about 7 as I have no helmet so hoepfully the roads will be quieter. I havent ridden a bike in years so wish me luck! :fingerscrossed: :giggle: Got to be better than no Phys at all.

Great idea about the uni!!

I think you should have the meal bar - far more vitamins & minerals etc than a nana xx

Meal bar it is then :)

Back from my bike ride. I did 6miles in 44:18. I think I could have done more quite easily, I don't feel like i've 'worked out' but I felt a little uneasy out there riding as I havnt ridden a bike in like 15years!

Still, 44mins is better than nothing I guess.

My knee hurt a bit powering up the hills but other than that it was fine.

I'm not sure now whether to squeeze in another ride before the weeks out or to completly rest it. If I rest it from today it'll be 3weeks untill I can get back and run again - i'm so paranoid about losing my fitness :(

Oh i'm rambling away again arent i! :giggle:

Changed my lunch to turkey instead of tuna as it'll be easier to have tuna tomorrow after my shift.

Hon, what about swimming until the knee settles. No impact on the knee but loads of exercise!

I don't mind swimming but the pools here don't open untill 7am, by which time i'm well in the land of nod and I cannot stand going in the evenings when its full of kids splashing about etc. Not only that, cost again too. I think its almost £4 a session for Central park.

You can do lots of swimming on holiday though yeah? :D

Well done on the bike ride but anything that makes your knee hurt can't be helping it hon  xx

Oh yeah and ramble away!!! :) xx

A know :( it's beginning to ache a bit now and i'm 2minds whether to exercise on thursday with it or not.

Swimming on holiday - ah yes! Inbetween the drinkies & sunbathing i'm sure I shall find a bit of time :p ;)

Take it easy on that knee ! I think a little rest will do no harm. A cool pack or bag of peas applied for ten minutes every half hour until it eases will help with the inflammation.
