Monday 16/08 - Green

Closing fast
- Nothing as I slept in - oops.

Breaking fast
- Date (2.5 syns)
- Banana

After prayer
- Pasta salad with cucumber, lettuce, tomato, carrot, potato, and garlic salad dressing (1 syn)
- Naan (6 syns) with baked beans in tomato sauce!!! (Oh my beans, how I have missed you...<3)
- Scrambled egg
- 2 bites apple crumble (2 syns?)

Late night
- 3 Mikado (1.5 syns)
- 350ml skimmed milk (HExA)
- 2 Alpen Light bars (HExB1)

Total syns: 2.5 + 1 + 6 + 2 + 1.5 = 13 syns

Can't face a HExB2... Glad I had less syns today, and no meat! Let's see what tomorrow brings xxx

- 1 Weetabix (1/2 HExB) with 150ml skimmed milk (3/7 HExA) and 1 tsp sugar (1 syn)

Breaking fast
- Date (2.5 syns)
- Fruit salad - apple, pear, banana, orange, grapes

After prayer
- Pasta salad with cucumber, lettuce, tomato, carrot, potato, sweetcorn and EL mayo (0.5 syn)
- Rice (0.5 syn) with yoghurt (2.5 syns) and tomato sauce (1 syn)
- 2 chicken pakoras (4 syns?) with mint yoghurt chutney (1 syn)

Late night
- Omelette with tomatoes, onion, coriander and chicken
- EL mayo (0.5 syn)
- 200ml skimmed milk (4/7 HExA)
- 10 almonds (1/2 HExB + 3 syns)

Total syns: 1 + 2.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 2.5 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 0.5 + 3 = 16.5 syns

Shitshitshitshitshitttt, totally forgot I'd had 1/2 HExB for breakfast already, dammitttt... Should have had 5 almonds, not 10! Oops. This sticking to syns thing really isn't working for me this week :(

Someone motivate me to sort myself out for tomorrow! It's my final chance to redeem myself before weigh in, I don't want another 0.5lb loss :'( xxx

Reading your diary is making me crave naan bread, it's been way too long...

Me too! if i'd have known they were only 6 syns i'd have made up a batch today to go with my lentil stew...

Not always 6 syns! I pick a syn amount and then weigh out that much rather than the other way around! Before, I'd probably have eaten 20 syns worth of naan and not given a crap... glad things have changed :)

the stew was good. it's actually something i tend to make over the winter months, but realised that with a wee bit of tinkering it would work well for SW and a green day.. next time i think i'll add some more curry powder and some chillies as, although i dont like anything too hot i do like a nice spice and i think the addition of the swede (to get extra superfree in) dulled the taste a bit

Sounds lovely :) I saw the ingredients on your food diary, it's the kind of thing I'd love to get round to making one day but that day never comes! I may have to make a big batch of some stew/soup one day so I get lots of superfree in during Ramadan.

My food choices could be a hell of a lot better, all the stuff on the table is so overwhelming! Haha... I should just remind myself that if I behave this year, there's nothing to stop me eating 10 samose a day next year :p xxx
 
Wednesday 18/08 - Extra Easy

Breaking fast
- Date (2.5 syns)
- Manto (4 syns?) - Afghan dish, absolutely pukka!

After prayer
- SW chips
- Carrot, cucumber and lettuce salad
- EL mayo (0.5 syn) and tomato ketchup (1 syn)

Late night
- Scan Bran (HExB) in 350ml skimmed milk (HExA) with Cadbury's hot choc powder (3 syns) and 1 tsp sugar (1 syn)

Total syns: 2.5 + 4 + 0.5 + 1 + 3 + 1 = 12 syns

Will try having some more SB when I get up again in two hours, really need to go number 2 before WI!!! xxx

how did wi go?

So unsuccessful! Opened my eyes at 10:18, despite having put an alarm on for 8am! So I was late for WI, got ready really quickly (totally could not go to the toilet, still having trouble going 4 hours later :cry:) and walked/ran/bussed it, only to find out I had lost... 0.5lbs. Trying hard not to be sad as a loss is still a loss but as I am having small losses recently, I am feeling more and more put off :( I know SW is a brilliant plan but it's slowing down it's magic for me - maybe I just need to work harder.

And with that thought fresh in my mind, I am going to nip out (walky walky - long-ish route I think) to pick up some more skimmed milk and maybe some choc weetabix if I can find any...

Poor thing - this will make you giggle, one week at SW, OH only lost 2lbs (which he was annoyed about), on the way home he said "it's cos I haven't done a *** this afternoon", the following week, he forced himself to go and lost 6lbs!

I am not being judgemental or anything here and I am only going on this page of your thread, so forgive me if I am wrong, you eat really well, esp your superfree, but you guess syns - could it be that you have underguestimated?

also, are you suddenly doing loads of exercise? maybe that is holding the loss up and you'll have one massive loss at next weigh in?

WELL DONE ON YOUR 1/2lb off, it's always so much harder at the end of the diet x

Lol, I did giggle, and quite loudly! It’s amazing how much difference a poop can make... I still haven’t been able to go :( Felt the need a little while ago but I was on the phone and couldn’t get out of the call, the urge went :( I think I’ll be having lots of Scan Bran this week and maybe sticking to lots of Green days :p

Yeahhh, I have had to estimate syns a bit in the past week or so, usually I am the one doing most of the cooking so I switch oil for frylight etc, full fat yoghurt for 0% yoghurt, etc, but every Ramadan people will give food and so sometimes you go for a little bit of something and you don’t realise how many syns could possibly be in it until the oil seeps into your mouth, hahaha... I weigh out the stuff like Cadbury’s hot choc powder (yesterday the spoon slipped into my bowl of hot milk and SB, 5g ended up being 15g with no way to scoop off the quickly-dissolving extra!) and I have a line on my mug where the 350ml skimmed milk comes up to. My HExBs are usually something I can count eg nuts, bread, SB, cereal... But I will be much more careful this week, starting tonight :D An hour to go till I can eat, yaaaay!! Thinking of making something weird and wonderful for myself while the others tuck into Subway, though I can feel the steak and cheese in my mouth right now... *wipes up drool* :eek:

I have done much less exercise recently than usual – I did 160km in two weeks of June and lost 2.5lbs each week... No way I’ll be able to do that again this week, I’ll be surprised if I do 50! Today has been a good day, need to update my signature...

Thank you Donna :) You have made me feel miles better and I know where I need to sort myself out – just because others send delightfully lovely (and disgustingly unhealthy) syn-loaded foods, don’t mean I gotta eat them! :D Step one: Go make something random out of red peppers, baked beans, and rice :p

- 100ml skimmed milk (2/7 HExA)

Breaking fast
- Date (2 syns)
- Fruit salad - apple, pear, banana, orange, grapes
After prayer
- Rice, baked beans in tomato sauce, onion, tomato, green and red pepper all stirfried together, mixed with a bag of steamed carrots, sweetcorn and broccoli
- SW chips
- Cucumber, carrot and lettuce salad
- EL mayo (1 syn) and tomato ketchup (1 syn)

Only 6 syns by 9:38pm, I think I might just be breaking a record! Dinner after prayer felt like a right jumble - which is brilliant because that is just how it used to be! Got lots of the ricey thing left over, may add some quorn or something tomorrow!

Late night
- 10 almonds (HExB1)
- Frozen red grapes
- Tesco Light Options Lemon Drizzle Cake (3.5 syns)
- 3 Mikado (1.5 syn)
- 250ml skimmed milk (5/7 HExA)

Total syns: 2 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 3.5 + 1.5 = 11 syns

Could technically count as an EE day because I didn't have my HExB2 but I'm gonna leave it as Green - it motivates me more :)

Invited to break the fast at my aunty's place tomorrow - will have to call it an Extra Easy day, there's no avoiding food infront of her!

Trip to toilet successful this morning - think I have found the trick... Banana! Just realised I stopped having bananas after my brekkie a little while ago, maybe that's why I'm having trouble losing... Will scroll up and check out diary later xxx

- Cucumber, carrot, lettuce, raddish, sweetcorn, potato and chicken salad with dressing (1 syn)
- Biryani with chicken, potatoes and boiled eggs (6 syns)
- Mint yoghurt chutney (1 syn)
- Fruit salad - apple, pear, banana, orange, mango, kiwi, peach and fruit juice (3 syns)

Late night
- Cucumber, carrot, lettuce, raddish, sweetcorn, potato and chicken salad
- 5 almonds (1/2 HExB)
- Alpen Light bar (1/2 HExB)
- 350ml skimmed milk (HExA)

Total syns: 2.5 + 1 + 6 + 1 + 3 = 13.5
