Yes I had heard about getting Benefit on ebay, I think I can live with it being stolen! Thanks for the tips - I think I remember once when I lost a bit of weight in the past going on about it to my mum who treated me to some new clothes so might try that again...

I'd be wary about makeup on eBay. It may be stolen but may well be fake and putting fake stuff on skin isn't something I'd fancy risking.

For cheap high end makeup I'd check out blog sales from beauty bloggers. Search #bbloggers on twitter and you'll be inundated with them and you know they're real :)

Good idea Clare, I check feedback but the beauty blogging thing is clever.

It's going to take 2 years at least to shift the weight I want and there's no way I am waiting 2 years for my treats. I have 2 LOVELY tanner krolle bags (ebay again) but I got them last year. If you have a thing for bags a second hand tanner krolle is a good place for big-ish treats

I like avon for makeup, and their far away perfume

Star £2 for 8 sausages is a big jump from the 84p for 12 that I used to pay although I may give it a go I suppose if you look at it at 50p per meal and 1 syn add some eggs and sw chips and its not too expensive, I think thats why im finding it so hard to think of low syn meals because im so used to buying the really cheap everything and living off.frozen sausages and burgers that you can buy in bulk and cheap and we only really have like £60 a month to feed the both of us sometimes as little as £30 as we both have phone contracts and I have other stuff I pay off every month, another reason we havent managed to save any money for the wedding yet :/ im really panicking about that at the minute lol

Bit disappointed this evening guys. We had a substitute Consultant in group last week as our usual one had gone on holidays, and apparently there was a 2lb discrepancy between her scales and the usual ones. So the 4lb loss that I had last week, was really only 2lb, which meant that this week I only lost 1/2lb. I know I really lost 2lb last week and 2.5lb this week, but it's still disappointing as I only needed 2.5lb to reach a lot of targets.

Uch Mandy that's rubbish. At least you still lost this week, if scales I used had a 2lb discrepancy I'd definitely have gained!

If it helps it means your targets are still close so you can hit it next week instead of your next target being miles away! (I know that's rubbish but it's a small positive)

Aww that sucks mandy I wouldnt be too happy either if that happened to me x

Evening All!

Busy busy day! Got my sofa delivered after patiently waiting for 9 weeks... Littlewoods are USELESS! But it's lovely & least it's finally here :) Ava had her weigh in too at the baby clinic & she's gained 3lbs in a week - would be great if I could lose her gains each week! I'll be skinny in no time :D

How exciting you ladies planning your weddings, Grant reckons we'll be eloping to Vegas... I think not! I want the whole church & white dress shebang!

I think I need to give myself some little rewards when losing the lbs, I hope that will give me the motivation to keep going!

Rach xxx

Ava gained 3 pounds in a week?!? How old is she? That's loads! The most Jack ever gained quickly was 12oz in 5 days and I was amazed! Other than that he gained 2lbs a month on average. I'm taking him for his 5 month weigh in next week, but at 4 months he weighed 14lbs 5oz so since i've had him i've lost the equivilent of more than 3 whole Jacks! I love having that comparison to make, it really spurs me on when i feel like i don't look any different xx

Has anyone got any ideas for little treats to give yourself when you have basically no spare money? I am temping and don't usually work 5 days a week. My partner has a good job but it's pretty low-paid so we do struggle for cash a bit and paying £5 a week for SW is enough! But I love the idea of non-food treats like make-up. Maybe I should put a pound in a pot for every pound I lose, I'm sure I could stretch to that, and then get myself some nail varnish or something.

A £1 per pound is a good idea hun, shouldn't break the bank and then when you see something you want you can use the money to get it then! :) xx

I like using my boots points for make up treats, that'd be one money busting way. (ebay for new benefit stuff is good - I know it is more than likely stolen but sometimes I just REALLY want it) and unexpected source of reward money came from my Grandad. I had lost over 3 stone when he called to say he was sending me £100 I still have £26 left. So shout your weight loss from the rooftops, you never know what might happen. I update Facebook every weigh in and I am thrilled to say lots of my friends have taken up sw too now. Including my brother's girlfriend. She saw me at x-mas last year and then saw me this august just before I got my 3.5 stone award... Add an unofficial extra 12lb loss and the next week she signed up!

I'm not getting married either but I love the peeing tip.

Oh and Rachel, my goal was to lose more than he weighs and now I am nearly doubling it! So I am sure you will get there.

I have so many boots points from the number of nappies i buy from there, i save them up and then use them on the three for two offers at christmas time, it saves us some money on presents then :) I do the same with my sainsburys nectar points, last christmas we used our points and bought the whole of the christmas food shop with them xx

Have you tried lidl nappies? They are brilliant, gold award from mumsnet miles better than leaky huggies. Nate has 1-2 year formula so that adds up, but they got me to use my points on milk once (woe) oh and lidl wipes are amazing, better than any others I have found. They are huge too.

For my nieces' mum and my brother's girlfriend (different brothers) I'm knitting gorgeous cashmerino collared scaves. My son is getting megablocks I think. I've not planned any others (mum, dad and 2 brothers) I think i will canvas print a photo of my son for my grandparents, they've not seen him since he was tiny and there are great deals on canvas prints atm, often from groupon

I love groupon, save a fortune with that

Each year I keep meaning to use points to buy presents at Xmas, and then I see something I want... alas.

Thanks for the kind words, girls. I'll just keep going and hopefully make up some ground next week. At least it's going down, not up.

I guess when you have a budget of that much CH2b for the whole month and when compared to your normal ones they do sound expensive but I looked at it as they're 50p per meal and thought it was quite good as I'll get four meals out of one pack. Egg and chips are syn free so they're lovely with sausages :)

We don't spend that much on food but I make it go further by batch cooking and having meals ready in the freezer, that way we get the best of both world as the one big shop every other week may be around £60 (which will include tolietries/cleaning/bathroom stuff etc) but when we're getting 20 to 30 meals out of that one shop that seems to be good value and helps keep costs down long run and save time on those days where I don't feel like cooking from scratch whilst keeping me on track.

Oh Mandy that sucks!! I would be utterly furious if that happened to me and would not be staying to group that week as I would have nothing good to say, on a positive note at least you are still losingbut still I bet you group last night was not a happy place. Hope you are ok x

I enjoy knitting too Fran, but I am still quite new to it. I am currently knitting a blanket to keep me warm on those cold winter nights...well the cold winter nights of 2013 as I am too slow to have it ready for this year lol

I really like the little rewards people are getting for their losses

I have days like that too where I feel lighter which is nuts as I am not actually lighter but I just feel it sometimes. It's a good feeling and one I hope to get more often once I have lost weight.

Oh group was not a happy place, you're so right. And our new members who had joined that week were up too, so not great incentive to keep going after your first week!
I'm hoping to start crocheting soon... Anything to keep my hands busy haha

I tried crochet but wasn't very good at it but I will try again. I have a lot of spare time at the moment so I decided to do something that would keep me busy and my mind active hence I decided to teach myself to knit :)

I only average about 1lb a week so if that happened to me I would be so upset so if you need any extra help or support this week we're all here to help you xx

Oh Clare I hope you are ok hun. You know of my circumstances so I totally understand how you feel as I have had this myself so if I can help in any way let me know xx

I mean I sent him my CV for a position, talked to him on the phone and he said my cv was great etc then I go in today and he tells me how negative it is to have not finished 2 degrees and have short term jobs!

What a C word!!!! Surely they should see your temp work as a positive, all of the extra skills and experiences you have had as you're still young so where else are you meant to get the skills needed for the real working world.

And if he had an issue with your degrees he should have given you a constructive suggestion of how they could be on your CV if it bothers him so much rather than be negative. This is the exact reason I wish all companies dealt with their own recruitment, agencies really annoy me as they talk the talk but in the end they are full of rubbish.

I am sorry this is just a moan but I have never had so many bad experiences as I have had with recruitment agencies.

Good luck with your search Clare, please don't let one idiot knock your confidence too much or let it get you down as they're really not worth it x

What a Dick. My last job the manager didnt even read my cv. I know because he said "oh I didn't know you studied politics" but by the time I'd left for maternity leave I was running the place as they tried to find a manager. I started on a 16 hour night shift contract, 9 months later I got a 40 hour contract, 3 months after that they left me in charge of the site for 2 months, on my own. Sometimes things look crappy but you will get your foot in the door, prove yourself and do wonderfully.

As for knitting I have some gorgeous pieces for my son. I even knitted him his Christmas stocking :) I'm looking forward to knitting myself something when I am at target. I have a crochet book but I can only make the first chain so far (i did that when making a drawstring for some trousers I knitted for when my son was little.

I gained a half lb this week, given a good loss the previous week, star week, a cold and two crummy days I am happy with a small gain. I just need to kill this cold and get rid of the fluid that seems to be in my face. My waist measured smaller this morning that last week, by half an inch, so I know it is all good.
