A yummy (and happier and healthier) mummy - for good this time!

It is hard until all the Christmas rubbish is gone hun It's temptation not sabotage. (I quite deliberately ate most of the ones I like out of the chocolates on xmas day and boxing day in hopes of being less tempted by what was left.)

Thanks for the kind words girls :) Really appreciated- especially as i got myself into a big slump yesterday following the binge.

We have 2 full tubs of celebrations in the cupboard and i am avoiding them like the plague! We are having a candy buffet at our wedding for our favours (and because we have around 16 children under 10 going!) so i have earmarked them for that table! Kinda feel less tempted now i know they are going to be used for something!

Todays food (green day) -
B: Banana and raspberries (late breakfast around 10 as i had to work)
L: Veggie soup (swede, carrots, potato, celery, veggie stock pot and parsley)
D: SW chips topped with 3tbsp bbq sauce 3syns and 80g reduced fat cheddar hexA1+hexB1.

Snacks: 2 x WM toast hexB2 topped with 50g philadelphia light part hexA2. Quavers 4.5syns. 3 x quality street 7.5syns. Blueberries.
Drinks: Cups of tea (sweetener and skimmed milk part hexA2) Diet orangeade. Water.
Syn Total - 15syns

And i don't care if SW are phasing out green and red days - I'm still going to use them! I need the extra hex's sometimes!

Good day Lisa! Has a good on plan day made you feel a bit better? Good use of your leftover celebrations! I hate waste- I think its why I overeat sometimes. I think there's only one child coming to my evening do lol.
I think the official line is red & green are still running but I gather consultants won't promote/encourage them. They work though so its not like they'll suddenly stop- I think I'd really struggle on sw if I couldn't have green days!
Have you ever tried the home made syn free BBQ sauce? I made it once and it was really tasty- kept it in a plastic pot in the fridge and it lasted ages too!

I do feel better now I've had an on plan day and ate chocolate! I selected the three i wanted from the tub and then put the rest away so i definitely feel a little bit of accomplishment!

Ditto the food waste! I hate it! One reason why i think i tuck into Reece's leftovers sometimes!

H2B has 6 nieces and nephews (the two girls are in my bridal party too) plus we have Reece so thats almost half the kiddies that are coming to our wedding. A few of my close friends have children and I'm really close to them- it'd be odd not having them there! I love children so im more than happy for them to be there- i know their parents will keep them behaved and im making sure i have a not too messy craft table set up for them and an area where they can play so they dont get bored.

And i havent even heard of syn free bbq sauce!! Sounds amazing! Please share the recipe!

Definitely an accomplishment! Sometimes its harder having a few and stopping than having none at all..
Aw that sounds nice though- if I had any nieces or nephews, or my friends children, I wouldn't mind them coming. Only one friend has one child (who I love to bits). Some other guests have kids e.g cousins kids but I don't know them well enough to feel obliged for them to come. The speeches/general behaviours prob won't be suitable for kids either!
I'll post you the recipe tomo cos I can't remember quantities but its dead easy- passata, Worcester sauce, balsamic & sweetener basically! X

Ooh, the chips with BBQ sauce and cheese sounds delish, I haven't tried that before! I'm wondering if this syn-free BBQ sauce the same stuff I use in the SW Pulled Pork recipe... will be checking back to find out :)

It used to be my favourite snacky meal pre-SW, Moonbeam! Of course i used to bulk it out with sides of chicken dippers, mozzarella sticks etc! *nom nom nom*

Thanks for finding the recipe for me ladies!! Save me a few syns!

Thankfully we didn't have alot of Christmas goodies around the house because we were away so didn't buy anything!! Thats a relief at least!

This is the recipe I used! It was lovely and tangy, little heat but not spicy.
1 onion, very finely chopped (sautee in frylight). Add 1tsp chilli powder (to taste) and cook for a min.
Add 220ml passata, 3tbsp sweetener, 4tbsp balsamic and 1tbsp Worcester sauce.
Simmer for 10 mins, til thickened.
You can leave it with the little bits of onion or blend it, it also freezes well! When I tasted mine I think I added a little more sweetener.
I used this for pulled pork (doubled everything) and it was amazing! X

Argh! Im so behind with wedding prep!! Only just getting our day invites out and we get married in 3 and a half months!
Currently organising our honeymoon- h2b wants to do a 7 night cruise around Italy and Spain and despite my dislike of boats (and strangely his fear of water!) i am coming around to the idea as id love to go to several places in Italy and this gives us the opportunity! The only thing holding me back now is spending that long away from my Reece!!

Spent most of the morning walking around the shopping centre so surely that counts as some body magic!!

Food sounds nice today Lisa :) need to get some more Schwartz seasoning, thanks for reminding me!
I'm sure it'll be fine- get people to RSVP by end of Jan so you know what you're doing and no one misplaces invites?
Cruise sounds lovely! Where in Italy do you fancy? I've always wanted to go- mainly for the food :p would your parents look after Reece? Its always a bit of a military operation when we go away because of all the animals so I can kind of vaguely relate, but with modern technology & trustworthy people you might find it more bearable than you think xx

Im hoping with facetime and stuff that it'll be easier to be away from him. Longest ive gone is 2 nights when h2b had a knee operation but Reece was only 3 months old! I was a bit of a wreck!! I know I'll miss him everyday- and he'll probably be upset that we've left him behind.
The thought of him feeling abandoned tears me up inside- i honestly dont know if id be able to enjoy myself with the guilt (and i feel guilty about ANYTHING!)

I've always wanted to go to Florence, Rome and Venice- plus Maranello (the Ferrari F1 team have their headquarters and factory there and i am a HUGE fangirl!) But that is in the middle of nowhere! The cruise does only one full day at sea and then visits Rome, Venice, Barcelona and some others that i cant remember on the top of my head.

Forgot to mention- i weighed today. Down to 12st 3.5lb so think its a 0.5lb loss :)

Fab on the loss! Well done :) I'd love to go to Barcelona so that's a bonus too- you'll have an amazing time & I'm sure Reece won't feel abandoned- how much do you think he would understand?
I know what you mean re the guilt. I left my mum looking after over 60 animals & our business whilst we went away for a month lol I felt Terrible. But I did everything I could to make sure it went smoothly and once you're gone its out of your hands. I'm sure no one would hold it against you to have a honeymoon ;-) x

I think he understands a lot more than people realise- I'm sure he'd be fine as he loves spending time with both mine and h2bs parents but the worry is there. He had really bad separation anxiety when he was smaller (its a usual milestone) and when he started nursery :( Barely ate or slept when i wasn't there. And was moody with me when i came back!!

Originally i wanted a mini-moon and then a family holiday in the summer...

I made a leek and potato soup but left it on my desk and it got warm- i heated it up tonight and it tastes vinegary :( Got another portion that's been kept in the fridge so will give it another shot tomorrow!

Well done on your loss!
Don't worry too much about leaving him at home while you're on your honey moon. He'll probably view it as a holiday as I'm sure he'll be spoilt lots :)

I didn't try the other part of the batch today. Still in the fridge so maybe tomorrow!

Today started well but then i got stressed halfway through the day with the house being a mess and Reece throwing a tantrum so i ate a few too many chocolate liquers! Still under syn if I do it weekly...
