A yummy (and happier and healthier) mummy - for good this time!

Hey Lisa!
Nice green day food :) cheese and marmite is def the way forward! Weekend WI is a tricky one- I like Friday for a WI day though sometimes it almost gives me permission to go off plan!
How's the wedding plans? I saw this on p interest the other day and thought of us!
Xx

It's hard to have it on a different day as i tend to forget! During the week i have to get up and do things straight away (make h2bs packed lunch, get Reece his breakfast and dressed etc) whereas on the weekend it's a little more leisurely (h2b doesnt work weekends so he can look after Reece).

I can handle a takeaway gain if i get an extra big loss the week after!!

Love the picture!! So true.

Plans are okay- until someone throws a spanner on the works and expects us to sort it (cough cough future-MIL!!)

Oh dear, is she being a pain? Future FIL is the same for me- apparently its our fault we havent received all RSVPs because we put on a deadline of end of March and should've put before Xmas. Who even thinks to book time off work that far ahead unless for a hol?! X

Shes just being difficult- mainly due to her travelling with h2bs brother, sister and their children the day before and then expecting us to know everything about the area they are staying in (Bristol isnt exactly a small city and we definitely don't know every nook and cranny!) And asking if any of our friends can be used as taxis for them!!
And she's moaning that she doesn't feel she is having enough input with the wedding because I'm not asking her opinion on every aspect and then she's asking me trivial questions like what colour tie should h2bs brother wear and is it okay if she wears a hat (i honestly dont care either way!)
I know she just wants to be involved but i think the stress is getting to me a little...

Plus i have two sick boys- both h2b and Reece have the cold bug i had last week. Reece is coughing really badly so is grouchy and h2b is a typical bloke when he is sick!

Ohh it sounds like you're having a rotten time of it too :-(
All these bugs going round are shocking- I hope the boys recover soon and you can have a nice weekend together.
Sounds like MIL is feeling a bit left out- maybe all the awkwardness is her way of attention seeking?
Could you ask h2b to fend off some of the more trivial stuff, and maybe find some "important" things that you "need" her opinion/help with?!
How are your mum and dad doing with it all? My dads more het up than me lol bless him xx

H2b came home ill today and is already in bed. Hopefully the sleep will do him some good.

My parents are fine Rosie- mum paid for my dress and wants me to go with her when she finds an outfit but apart from that she is happy to let me plan. Dad is the same- came for his suit fitting and confirmed we are buying the ties and he needs to get black shoes but no fuss apart from that.
My parents have always been more laid back though and h2bs mum likes to think she is a little bit upper class and that money is no object (although we are squeezing our budget to its limits).
She even moaned when we confirmed we wanted a M&S cake (but im getting personalised dolly peg toppers- super cute) as thinks its "cheap". I dont see whats wrong with it- and I've had it before and it was delicious! And value for money when we don't consider the cake to be a huge part for our day...

I may think of something extra for her to do- we are going to visit at the end of this month (i bought h2b a tour of the Arsenal football stadium for his birthday so makes sense to stay in Kent and get the train to London) and we are going to buy the smaller bridesmaids their dresses and accessories so she can have an imput about that.

Mm toasties- did you read this on snows diary and get an urge?! I did!
Your parents sound perfect lol :) nothing at all wrong with an M&S cake! I looked at them too because they taste absolutely fantastic (the chocolate one especially) but I found a cakemaker in the next village who was much cheaper, bakes it fresh and even delivers to the venue- only £200 for a 3 tier cake of my design to feed 100. Couldn't say no!
Budget is such a contentious issue- I can sympathise.
I think she'll like having input with the little ones- if you try and keep her distracted with other things it might be less annoying ;-) xx

Haha i did read them on Snow's diary! Yum! I love a toastie!

I was a little disappointed my mum wasn't more involved with the wedding plans but its okay now- she always asks how the plans are going and if i want her to do anything but never with any pressure :)

That's a fab deal for your cake!! Wish i could find such a good deal :)

Im doing it again :( Ruining a weeks hard work with a takeaway- got a chinese craving! Done loads of running around today though- walked around the shopping centre this morning (had to pick up my bridesmaids shoes and pick out h2bs suit), then walking around the supermarket for the weekly shop. And after Reece's nap we went to watch h2b play football and I think I ran around more than him with Reece trying to run on the pitch and kick the football!!

The weather was lovely yesterday- although very unsettled today! Glorious sunshine at the moment but was raining and gloomy about 20 minutes ago!

I chickened out and didn't weigh in this morning- feeling bloated and a little sickly today so im sure it would've been a big-ish gain.
Might weigh tomorrow instead if i get a spare moment in the morning!

Haha Snow! It is a bit of faff but some delicious things are worth it :p I couldnt deal with messing around with breadcrumbs and stuff though!!

Had a bad day emotionally today. Ive got a disciplinary meeting due to sickness at work- I've got to be given my sick record and my long-term absence due to my depression was in there and its made it all come back and made me realise nothing has changed... Just feel down again- back in the slump and really tearful :( Meeting is booked for next Monday so h2b is going to take me for lunch afterwards to try and distract/ cheer me up so wont be SW friendly...

*hugs* sounds a horrid day. Rubbish that you're having to wait til next Monday as well- your work seem to be particularly unsympathetic when it comes to employee wellbeing, both physical & mental.
Hope it doesn't ruin your week and its nice that OH will be treating you afterwards. Not to worry about being off plan- its only one meal in the week if you manage not to let it take over! Xx

Sorry to hear that, Lisa. I have been there with my work and it is awful. Especially when it rakes up something like that. I hope it doesn't go too badly. Will they give you some sort of target you have to hit - that is what happens to me and a warning that expired after a year. Are you in the union/do you have a union. I used to think our union was pretty useless until I had to go along to one of those and then I was glad to have a rep. Like rosie says it's one meal in the week and hopefully it will help to take your mind off it.
