Woohoo!!! 2lbs off for me this week. SW works in mysterious ways ;)

2lbs to go to get Club 10, and I'd like to get there in the next two weeks please. A pound a week should be do-able :)

Since I've come back to the UK I've had nowt but green days and it feels like comfy old slippers. My foray into red days and fishy days didn't lead to great losses (although I probably didn't stick at it long enough, I'm impatient!) so I think I'll stick with green for a few weeks. It's certainly better for the bank balance!

:D Congratulations on your loss!! :D

I too am going to stick to green days until my Thursday weigh in and see what that brings!

You are really good with all your exercise - think I need to take a leaf out of your book!

Well done on the loss :D I've never done a red day, but I much prefer green days over extra easy. I find I snack more and need to use more syns when I do EE

Yes, I absolutely agree that I snack more and get more 'peckish' on red days. So green it is :)

Went to a spinning session this evening
Blinking hard work and I did my fair share of cheating as I got cramp in my feet from all the standing in the pedals
But still, 45 minutes of (mostly) sitting and pedalling has to do some good, I was still a sweaty betty by the end :)
Going to wang the slendertone on now :)

I think I'd be more like Simon Pegg in Run Fat Boy Run... where he falls down the stairs!!
Well done Suey, spinning must be so hard, was reading about it in the latest SW mag - you'll have thighs of steel in no time!!

In retrospect I enjoyed it, but honestly not that much at the time!! Well, I was just a bit peeved to begin with as I booked the class in advance, then once I'd turned up and paid and they'd checked me off on their list and everything, I went up to the spinning studio and there were no free bikes!! Really poor admin, so then the instructor is like 'will anyone give up their bike?' and some people were nice enough to come back for a later session, but it was a bit embarrassing because I felt like I was making them leave...
But then after that incident the class just began straight away and the instructor didn't ask if anyone hadn't done it before and didn't give any advice on adjusting the bikes so the saddle is at the right height and distance from the handlebars etc.
So, I was pretty uncomfortable throughout, and kept getting really sore cramp in my feet when I stood up on the pedals which you have to do A LOT. I don't know if it would have been much better if the bike was adjusted properly though, it might just be my lack of fitness!

However, I think I will give it another go next week as I can feel today that it has worked my legs! I will make sure i turn up early next time to have a play around with the adjustments on the bike to see if I can make it more comfortable :)

HI PCS

I think the fact that your bike wasn't adjusted and your instructor hadn't spoken to you about the class didn't help and if your bike seat isn't the right height for you, it makes a big difference. You will get better at it, once you get used to it. Get to the class early next week and talk to the instructor. But that gym should have been better organised. xx

Hiya Sue,
I used to go spinning 3 times a week when I was good girl!:p I loved it. It is really hard work isn't it but I always felt so good afterwards - even if I could hardly walk! :D

The instructor should always ask at the beginning if there is anyone new and make time to make sure that your bike is set up properly - it is key to the class, it really is! The only uncomfortable thing should be your bum because the seats are so hard - I bet you're feeling that today - you do get used to it! :)
Another good thing about the class is that once you're in, you're in - there's no leaving - you have to finish! I used to wish I could get up and walk out sometime but how emabarrassing would that be!
You've really made me want to go back now!!
I hope you stick at it and I hope you get set up properly next time - let us know how it goes! Happy Spinning! :D
