Good luck with SW. I do think its a very good plan for keeping you away from naughties as on SF I think there is the temptation to switch to PP if you have a treat. Hopefully it will be just what you need at the moment. And the free cheese is amazing :)

Glad you are sticking around on the forum though, it really wouldn;t be the same without you.
 
Well fruit is free so just eat as much as you want! I did SW for a few weeks and it's pretty similar to SF on extra Easy. Apart from a lot of ready made food is super low syns but on SF you'd have to point the whole thing. So I can see why some people prefer SW. But if you cook from fresh which I think you do, then SF is perfect or that.

The only thing I like about slimming world is that you don't have the option of having a pp day if you have bad food. Like on ww if I ate loads of crap I'd pp it and probably be in my limits, but on SW it would be. Huge fail. So up to you really.

What have your losses been like recently?
 
I very rarely have ready meals, only in real exhausted emergencies! I think in these cases it'll have to be a baked potato or beans. I think the real sway of SW at the minute is I want to be back at a meeting of some kind again and keeping away from too much crap- I think right now I know how to 'cheat' at WW too well like eating crap but staying in points, planning an SF day but switching to PP if I'm using too many weeklies and eating 2 of something to get better value for pp ( like 1 pack of special k biscuits is 3pp but 2 packs is 5pp)! So I think starting Sonething new might help bring some discipline back! As I say I may as well give it a go and see.

Purple, my losses have been up and down since beginning of July but been over 11st since then. I have like a couple really good days then a couple really bad days!
I also know that I have to get more active and that is plan for next week.
 
Good luck with sw. I agree a change can be just what we need sometimes.

I did sw on and off for quite a long time so any questions just ask though I don't have up to date books so wouldn't be able to help you so much with amounts for healthy extras or syn values.

What I liked most about sw was the cheese! Oh and lazy food being free or really low in points - low fat supernoodles, savoury rice and pasta in sauce are handy when you really can't be bothers cooking although they aren't so healthy so bad to rely on them too much.

The biggest problem with it is snacky days aren't really possible - you get 15 syns a day and you don't get extra for exercise and same amount whether you eat tonnes of free food or just have soup and salad all day. Oh and everything is about double the syn value as it would be in propoints as roughly 1 syn is 20calories and 1pp is 40cals. So it's the same as having around 7pp a day and everything else must be free foods or healthy extras. There's also not many options for picking up food on the go eg a sandwich or pasta salad is often loads of syns, however eating out there's quite a few low syn Chinese options and nandos.

I loved sw when I did it though and a lot of people love it and have great losses on it. Its just finding what suits you best! X
 
When is your first SW meeting? I never actually went to a meeting when I did SW, I was just an online member but one of my friend goes and really enjoys the meetings.
 
My first SW meeting was tonight atomic! I nearly didn't even get there asthe location on their google maps was wrong. I spent 1/2 hour keying in different possible locations into google maps and walking around trying to find it! Good thing I left early as I thought it seemed a weird location on the map on the website!
Enjoyed the meeting (although they are REALLY long! But read through all my stuff and feel optimistic and positive so will start tomorrow. Picked up a couple of bits but the boyf is out drinking tomorrow night and gonna do some good planning and online shop.

Really tired tonight as went to SW straight from work and got in at 7:30. Also as I predicted today the honeymoon period ended with the kids. At one point 5 of them kicked off altogether, it can be like a domino effect sometimes! There were good things too though, mu idea for inclusion got approved by one of the deputy heads so thats really great. Ready for the weekend, just one more day. I'll catch up on diaries tomorrow. Hope you're all doing well. X
 
I'm glad urge meeting went ok! And aghh to the kids! Good news about ur idea tho
 
Sw sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is just take the time to read through all the info. After a few days all the red/green/extra easy and syns and healthy extras will make sense and become second nature! X
 
Well I think I've got today sorted, it's not too dissimilar from sf excepting limiting your breads and dairy, so reckon I'll be ok. This is my plan:

B- porridge and fruit

L- jacket potato, cottage cheese and salad

T- chicken curry and apple chutney with jasmine and coriander rice

Should you be trying to use syns everyday Laura? I know you have flexi syns but I have nothing I need to save up for this week.

So, only me would decide to make brownies and pizza with the kids on the day I start a new diet! Stupido!

You need to use between 5 and 15 syns a day. You can also use them weekly so 105 a week but they still recommend you use at least 5 a day. I always used my full syns as do most people and still lose.

Flexi syns are really only for emergency Food situations like say a birthday meal out/ big night out with friends. It's really just a damage control thing so you don't end up just saying **** it I'll just be bad until weigh in and start afresh next week!

Is that an extra easy day you are trying? As I see potato at lunch (free on green) and chicken at dinner (free on red) so I assume so. In that case remember you need to have third of your plate as super free food (most fruit/veg) on extra easy.

Would love to try slimming world but from home, there is no meeting near me and if I'm honest I can't afford it at the moment.. I have to kick start and lose the weight for my own mentality, I hate myself at the mo! Completely understanded if this is a crazy request, I tried googling it but can't get anything :'(
