Becktoria Brand New SF diary!

Hey everyone, wasn't on here last night as had some sad news, my great aunt passed away. It was expected and i wasnt particularly close to her, but my mam is in Spain and it's not nice hearing your mam crying and not being able to do anything, also I wanted to go to my grandma so she wasn't alone, but she wanted to be alone so felt a bit useless and didn't really know what to do with myself. Have spoken to both mamas grandma this morning and they seem to be much better and mam back tomorrow and going straight to my grandmas.

So the most surprising thing was, despite feeling pretty rubbish and down last night I didn't comfort eat, which is good. I planned my meals for the week - took ages, trying to include healthy a's and b's and make sure you get 1/3 super free but got there eventually!

This was what I ate yesterday

B- porridge with skimmed milk pears and raspberries

L- jacket potato, beans and salad

S- sample of brownie made by kids-7.5 syns
Banana
Golden plum

T- chicken curry, Thai rice, apple chutney and sugar snap peas

So pretty pleased with today. The tea was lush and half me plate was super free food. The kids brownies were amazing! I only tried a little bit of them but counted it as a whole one from my SW guide book.

Skittles I'm still getting head around it so not best person to advise. Its very surprising that there is no meeting in Dublin, you could try online? Sorry not more help.

I'll catch up with everyone's diaries later today, I know there has been a few WI's so looking forward to seeing how you've all gotten on. X

Sorry to hear about your loss, sounds like you went through it last night, glad things are better today though, well done on resisting the comfort eating and food for yesterday looks good :0)

Sorry bout ur aunt! It's really good that u didn't feel the need to comfort eat tho so a big well done for that! Hopefully the sw will get a little easier as u go along!

Sorry to hear about your great Aunt. I don't think these things are ever any easier when they expected, but glad to hear both you mum and nan seem to be doing a bit better today.

Food looking really good, the 1/3 sugar free rule can be a tricky with a few meals but I think its really important. I have always eaten veg but I definitely increased the amount while doing SW and after a while the 1/3 super free kind of sticks with you - I still find myself thinking about it after 4 or 5 months on WW.

Sorry about your great aunt. Any death is horrible and especially when it effects people you know.

Well done for staying on track and having a good days food! :)

Hugs

Yeh agree with Atomic the third super free rule is good really helps people make an effort to up their fruit and veg intake though I did only green days do didn't have to worry about that and got extra cheese lol! X

Can I just ask a quick question? I'm making a quorn chilli in it I'm putting onion, red and yellow pepper, courgette and green beans and chopped tomatoes from a can would these count as my 1/3 super free or will I have to have salad or extra veg on my plate too? Thanks. Sorry to ask so many questions.

A couple people claim that you need to have it seperate but I think thats nonsense lol! As long as you are eating it shouldn't matter if it's in your meal or on the side as long as you re getting a decent portion of veg :) x

Sorry I can't b of help

I would count them as superfree. It would be silly adding extra on your plate.

How is it going?

I remember for your cheese allowance there was cheese triangles or Philly and you can make a well cool pasta sauce with it :)

Thanks guys, don't think I can face anymore lettuce today!

Think I'm doing ok, I've been really hungry today but have tried to be sensible and stick to plan. I think cos I only got bout 5 hours sleep last night is why I'm so hungry.

Been cleaning all morning and chilling this afternoon so still behind on diaries. I'm not ignoring you all!

Cool! Great work!

Maybe have somethig free if your hungry!! Like a yogurt or mugshot?? I'm sure mugshots are free on SW! Been ages since I've had one of them lol!!

I always counted the veg I put into a dish as the superfree element. If I wasn't sure it was strictly a 1/3 of the overall meal then I would add a few veg on the side like sugar snap peas. These were (and still are) one of my favourite free veg as they seem to go with almost any type of dish and you can microwave them in 90 seconds.

Well I was going to count it but last minute thought ooh I'll have some rocket!

So far I think I'm doing ok. I'm not sure I'm doing it right but following what it says in the book and advice from you guys, so we see what happens on the scales on Thursday I guess. I'm definitely eating healthier though with no snacky crap.

Day 2 SW

B- porridge, skimmed milk and golden plums and pears

S- pineapple, banana, nectarine

L- leftover chicken curry and salad

S- quavers-4.5syns
Grapes
T- quorn chilli with sweet potato wedges and rocket, natural yogurt and 25g low low cheddar-5.5syns
Vanilla activia

Total syns- 10

Can any ex SWers check if this looks ok- I'm doing extra easy. I'm thinking I'm not getting any healthy oils so gonna use 2 syns a day on olive oil for cooking. I know it can be a healthy extra but I NEED my bread or cereal!

I guess I really should post diary on SW forum but I struggle to find time to catch up with you guys sometimes!

Today I had yummy breakfast of pink grapefruit and pineapple followed by ham and cheese omelette using cheese from healthy a. Was lush.

Depending on how much milk you use in cereal (I don't use much I hate soggy cereal lol) you might be able to split you hea into 2 halves and use half of the milk hea and the other half for a bit of cheese I used to do that a lot.

It also works for heb like you could have one small slice of wholemeal toast plus one Alpen light that would still be a heb.

Looks like you are doing well. Just remember its only a teeny tiny amount of oil you would get for 2 syns as I think it's 6 syns a spoonful (but best to check).

Oh and once you get into it you should give some red and green days a try too it's great getting the extra healthy extras :) x

Looks yummy and healthy to me, I presume your HEA is milk with your porridge? You get quite alot of milk for a HEA are you using all of this? If not you can split it for instance if you are only using half of the milk allowance you can use the other half as cheese or something. Glad you are enjoying the change, and I am sure you will get used to it soon it enough. Are the pears and plum you had with your porridge raw? As cooked or tinned fruit isn't free on SW unfortunately. Using a couple of syns on oil or nuts is a good idea as I think SW can be quite lacking in these and that was one of the reasons why I swapped to WW in the end but you definitely can make it work on SW too.

Great minds atomic ;-) more cheese always more cheese haha! X

Hahahaha same time posting AGAIN! Freaky ;-) x
