Beegee's Green Day Diary

Ta Sausage, I'm not shrinking any more though. After my weekend I'll be getting those 18's out again asap!

I'm exaggerating a bit tbh but I went over my syns due to eating out twice over the weekend and then on sunday I thought in for a penny in for a pound, and for no reason at all had a bag of hula hoops and a mini twix . Hardly a blow out, but not particularly like me (anymore) to just eat gratuitously. I'm a bit worried that because it's almost Christmas my head is starting to think that I'm fighting a losing battle anyway.

So, I'm trying to claw it back today and stay on the wagon but it's getting a tad bumpy up here.

B: Fruit salad & yogurt

L: Pasta & Sauce with extra veg and cheese (hexa). Satsumas.

Snack: yogurt, 1 mini jaffa cake (see, naughty for no reason!) (1)

D: Quorn and veg stirfry (3)

Had lots of coffees with milk today (hexa), then highlights (2) and Fibre Plus (2)

So, an ok day. Here's hoping tomorrow is the same and that my head is behaving itself and keeping me on the straight and narrow.

hi beegee its worrying how easy it is to eat for the sake of it (which i have been doing a lot of this week :() and it doesn't make u feel any better does it, the one thing i am really chuffed about is the fact that i have a tin of quality street & celebrations under my bed untouched :angel09: the old me would have been buying new tins to replace the ones i had eaten so that's a plus this year ;) know what u mean about being a tad bumpy up there, been that way for me this week eek : hope u've had a good day love val xx

Thanks Val. You know where I'm coming from with this one, hang in there girl! Good for you for resisting the chocs, I've done the same at the moment but once they're open I'm unlikely to be responsible for my actions!! It's a bumpy old road at the moment, but I'm still on track, just being slightly more synful than usual.

Tues:

B: Berries, banana, Crunchy Bran (hexb), yogurt

L: Jacket potato with beans, cheese (hexa) and sweetcorn. Yogurt, satsumas.

D: Quorn steak, roast potatoes, brocolli, carrots, cauli, gravy (2)

Synful bits today are - chocolate (2), mini jaffa cake (1)

Wednesday:

B: Bran flakes, fromage frais, mixed fruit

L: Pasta & sauce with sweetcorn, green beans, spinach, cheese (hexa). Satsumas, yogurt.

D: Chickpea dahl with extra veg, brown rice, mushroom bhaji.

Highlight (2), Fibre Plus (hexb)

Synful bits: bit of biscuit (2), bit of cake (2), bit of chocolate (2) - by a bit I mean quarter of a fairy cake type size so I'm hoping 2 syns per naughty mouthful will cover it!

I'm sts this week again by the looks of things. Fair do's really after the weekend.

Will update today later but as a sneak preview (!) I tried the apple crumble shape yogurts today - they were jolly nice! Shame there are 2 rhubarb ones as well as I'm not really a fan. I hope they're more crumbly than rhubarby!

Haven't updated for ages, my food diary is so immensely samey I don't want to inflict it on you!

In Shape yogurt updates - I thought the rhubarb was actually quite nice and I'd have it again so good news.

In hanging on to the wagon news - still clinging. Had a bit of a bad weekend, lots of social events and I have been more synful than I should be. That said, I am still exercising huge control so am quite pleased with myself. For instance - son's xmas party at playgroup, kids are done with the food and adults move in like vultures. I had a quarter of a jam sandwich and 3 mini cheddars. Completely un-necessary and naughty, but at the same time could have been so much worse. I'm just trying to limit the damage, put off the day where I finally say 'sod it' for as long as possible and come to it anew in January for the last 2 stone.

This week so far:

Monday:

B: Persimmon, banana, pineapple, yogurt

L: Pasta & Sauce with extra veg, cheese (hexa). Yogurt.

Snack: Ryvita mini's (hexb), cottage cheese

D: Quorn steak, brocolli, cauli, carrots, roast potatoes, gravy (2)

Syns: mikado (0.5), choc buttons (1)

Had a bit of a disaster today when the oven stopped working so I had to chop the par boiled 'roast' potatoes and frylight them in a pan instead. I have no idea what is wrong with the oven so at the mo only have a hob and a microwave. Gawd knows when that will be fixed, now is not the best time for me to have to shop for a new oven.

Tuesday:

B: Mango, persimmon, banana, yogurt

L: Jacket potato, beans, corn, mushrooms, cheese (hexa). Yogurt, chocolate (2)

D: Have to go out tonight to a 'do'. The veggie option is a massively uninspiring pea, broad bean, mint, risotto. The prospect of that does nothing for me but I have no choice. I hate having to use syns when I don't want to (and pay for something I won't like much). It might surprise me I suppose but not holding out much hope.

Poor Beeg's oven :( When my oven died a few months ago, step-dad poked a electricity measuring probe thingy into it and diagnosed a blown fuse. Much cheaper than a new oven. He is a retired electrician, so if you know anyone like that, it would be worth checking (obviously). During the days of having no oven, I discovered that new elements are very cheap on ebay too. Fingers crossed it is nothing serious.

Hubby is currently assessing the oven and hair-drying it as he thinks it may have got damp which has blown the fuse - so you may be right. Everytime we try turning it on it trips the circuit and the lights go out. Tis a proper pain in the bum. Ta for the tips re ebay, it might come to that. At the moment though I'm hoping that my Phillips ionising cool shot hairdryer offers some salvation. It's dead technical this end.

hi beegee poor u not a good time for ur oven to pack up fingers crossed hubby can get it working again. u done well only having a 1/4 of a jam sandwich & 3 mini cheddars i've got a box of mince pies in cupboard for b/f they keep calling me i did take the box out last night but put them back & had 2 tsp nutella instead  have a good week love val xx

Ta Val, we're still resisting - we can do it!!

Oven update - have an oven but no grill. Hubby thinks he can fix it with a new part so there is hope! (gawd knows when new part will materialise though ...)

Risotto update - it was really nice! It didn't seem overly buttery or oily and was most flavoursome. The mulled wine was nice too but I only had one small glass so all in all, a good night.

hi beegee glad u had a good night xx and yes we r still resisting lol i would like to lose 2lb by xmas to give me a little bit lea way over xmas and new year i am still going to go to class it might make me take more control  hope hubby gets oven done b4 xmas xx

Good luck with losing the 2lbs Val. I think I'll have done well if I don't put 2lbs on! It's been another 15 syns day today - another xmas party and the syns rack up very quickly after a couple of quality street and a mini fairy cake. Apart from that, today has been:

B: Yogurt, persimmon, mango, banana, Fruit & Fibre (hexb)

L: Super noodles, lots of added veg. Yogurt.

D: Wholewheat pasta, cheese (hexa), tin of Asda ratatouille. This was ok, but I spent the first 10 minutes after opening the tin picking out loads of bits of skin, hard tomatoey bits and general unpleasant looking things. It seemed to be made with lots of very poor quality veg. Still, it was an emergency be quick dinner and in that sense served a purpose.

Fibre Plus (hexb) & highlights (2)

Thursday:

B: yogurt, banana, persimmon, mango

L: Pasta and sauce, lots of veg, cheese (hexa) (oh how I miss having a grill to make this into pasta bake with lovely crunchy cheese ...) Yogurt

Snack: Ready Brek (hexb & half hexa) - thanks Gobolino for the Ready Brek tip. It was lovely and warming, I felt like the advert where the little kid has a glowing tummy and is all happy.

D: Quorn and veg stirfry noodles, black bean sauce (3)

Probably more will follow ...

Much better syns wise today so far thank goodness. I had a bit of a boost as I lost another whopping 200g last week against the odds. That's 2 weeks of 200g in a row now I'm on a roll! Still, a loss is a loss and this week it wasn't expected so all good.

Friday:

Uh oh, Roses emergency. I accidentally opened the box that my daughter won at her school fair and ate 5 - yikes! Slippery slope here I come! Could have had more tbh but managed to rein it in slightly. I've been doing ok this week really and am still not putting anything on which is good and I only tripped up this evening as I'm peed off on an epic scale - scaffolding has gone up outside our house (loft conversion in the new year) and blocked our sky dish so we don't have any tv. Aaaaagh! It's the Strictly final tonight too. I've got all day to formulate a strategy - I think it might be to watch on iplayer but that doesn't help me over the christmas holidays. So, Roses were required!

B: Yogurt and fruit

L: Jacket potato, beans and sweetcorn, cheese (hexa), yogurt

Snack: toast (hexb) peanut butter (3)

D: Chickpea dahl, veg, rice.

Highlights (2) Roses (10!)

Hi Beegee re-chocolates u done really well only having 5 u showed great restraint x I've just bought myself a box of Thorntons for a treat at Xmas then when they've gone that's it thought it would be better than having some from a tin cause I won't know when to stop :-( . Are you all ready for Christmas ? Have a good week xx

Hey Beegee -I hope you are winning the battle against the roses. Have a nice Christmas!

Thanks girls! Hope you've all had a good time. I departed the wagon on the 21st december and will be hoping back on 3rd Jan. After being really good last year I'm not worrying so much this year so will be paying the price in the new year! I'm looking forward to getting back to normal but have a few more social hurdles to hop over before I can get there!

Back on the wagon!! Hooray, day 1 of week 90 - completed.

I've put on about 6 pounds which I'm fine with but which obviously needs to go. I've updated my stats and am trying to think of some realistic targets. If I lose a pound a week I'll be in the century club by Easter but that's a bit of a stretch for me I think. I'm hoping that having had a bad few weeks I'll have a large loss next week as my body goes into chocolate deprivation mode. I've weighed in a bit early this week to give myself the best chance (is that cheating?! :D)

Today has been:

B: Magic porridge (hexb) & melon

L: Savoury rice with extra peppers, mushroom, corn, cheese (hexa). Yogurt, satsuma.

Snack: mugshot

D: Quorn pieces in a tomato sauce with roast potatoes & parsnips, carrots, brocolli, sweetcorn.

So, I've used the new hex measurements today which seems a bit weird because it just feels like putting extra cheese on for no real reason. I am still a paying member of SW online and have sent them a strongly worded email as they haven't sent me any details of the change in plan or told me that it's happening :sigh:. If I didn't come here, I would be totally unaware that things had changed. It's really shoddy, members who go to class got a nice new book, me - nothing! I'll be interested to hear their justification for it and will keep you posted. Rant over!

Good to see you back at it Beegee - you go for it, you've done so well and I know you'll be feeling fab at Easter regardless of reaching your target or not :)

Good for you writing to SW, I totally understand, I did SW online and its not cheap so you should be receiving the most up to date info that you'd have in class!

Hmmm...Easter Sunday is in 13.5 weeks, you have 11 pounds to get to the Century Club. I reckon your 6 holiday pounds wont stick to you for long as they are new ones....*taps calculator*.... I think you will do it!!! Yaay!

I am getting back on plan properly tomorrow. Please give me a kicking if you see me wandering off plan :D

Thanks for the encouragement girls - and your scientific calculation SS. It's definitely possible isn't it. Let's give it a whirl!

I'm liking being back on plan A LOT. It feels much more normal and I feel better knowing that I'm back on top and in control. The school run started today as well so the exercise will be kicking in too which can only be a good thing.

Yesterday was:

B: Branflakes (hexb), yogurt, melon, banana

L: Jacket potato and beans (in Asda cafe - bit of a stingy portion, could have done with some more salad and another scoop of beans but then I am a pig ...)

Snack: starving after the new potato in Asda so made some super noodles.

D: Pasta bake, tomatoey sauce, lots of veg, melty cheese (hexa) - yummy.

Highlights (2), Oaty Bar (hexb)

Today is likely to be:

B: Branflakes (hexb), yogurt, banana, melon

L: Pasta and sauce, extra veg, cheese (hexa)

D: Chickpea dahl, extra veg, rice

Other hexb and snacks tbc!
