Beegee's Green Day Diary

There weren't any fireworks in Sainsbury's - not a single sparkler. Thankfully Asda saved the day and our little fireworks party went ahead. My weekend was fairly typical, stayed within syns (around 85 for the week - can't remember exactly).

So onto week 82 - Monday:

B: Beans on toast (hexb) with 'fried' mushrooms

L: Savoury rice with extra veg, satsumas, yogurt.

Snack: banana and grapes

D: Creamy pasta bake (3.5) (hexa) with peppers, spinach, corn, onion, mushrooms

Highlights (2), Alpens (hexb)

Just watching the conclusion of the Michael Jackson trial. No surprises here! The judge has just given a very long speech to the jury who seem to be priority 1 rather than the very guilty doctor. (judge seems lovely btw). It's so weird watching the actual process, especially now that they're umming and ahhing about when to sentence him and whether to bang him up in the meantime. Ho hum, all very sad :(.

So, this week is ticking along just fine. Had a gain though which is annoying. I'm all bloated so hopefully it will go next week as I'm stagnating again at the moment and not really losing anything.

My most exciting SW news this week was that I finally got round to making the cheese scones. I thought they were quite good though not really scone like. They definitely tasted more like a cheese & onion pasty. I think the way forward is DEFINITELY to use them as a cobbler / dumpling type top for a casserole and I would only use plain cottage cheese for that as I think the chivey one can sometimes clash with other flavours. (Not totally sure on that though, I'm no masterchef so could be utterly wrong).

I'm quite impressed with myself for trying one of these recipes as I can't usually be bothered with substitute type things. I've also made 'pizza' with the wrap base (5 syns) and SW wedges so I'm going a bit SW recipe crzay!

I shan't bother writing all my meals down - I've not been very adventurous or different - roast dinner, pasta, lots of fruit and yogurt, 23 syns so far this week etc. Blahdy blahdy blah!

I have a boozy night out looming this weekend. I'm going to try and make sure that I don't end up being all poorly and disgusting as I did last time we went out. A couple of beers then onto the bacardi is the plan at the moment. Fingers crossed I stick to it!

Big gain or little gain? Nevermind. Onwards and downwards and all that :D

I found the verdict quite uncomfortable to watch. It wasn't a surprise, but I was shocked at some of the judge's comments on his reasons for remanding him in custody pending sentencing - danger to society etc. And the court guards could not wait to cuff him. I can't watch the people outside the court as they make me cringe so much. I wonder, if they were pitchfork waving outside the court for weeks, when did they have time to watch the full case with an open mind and form opinions based on evidence like me and my pal Beegee?

Agreed - absolutely, it was quite horrible. Flight risk I could understand, but danger to society - seriously?! Those people outside waving placards and cheering were frightful, poor old MJ is still dead, it all seemed in very bad taste. I never realised the (starstruck) doctor was so tall - 6 foot 5 they said. He looked like a giant when I finally saw his legs from under that table. That made me think he'd be less of a flight risk - I can't imagine him going anywhere un-noticed.

Just a little gain btw - 0.6kg, sorry I should have said. That's a pound and a bit. I was down again this morning so things may be returning to normal. Will update later!

Hi girls, sorry I've had computer issues and seem to have loads on with doing stuff for christmas with school and playgroup - not sure why, it's only flipping november, but there you go. Serves me right for wanting to get involved I suppose.

I've been on plan as usual though. Lost 1.4kg last week, can't remember what that is in pounds - about 3.5 maybe which is good but most of it I think was probably catching up from the weeks before where I gained unfairly! However, still on track but getting a bit tight for my 7 stone by christmas challenge. I still have another 2.1kg to go - 4 and a bit pounds which is a stretch as I also have hubby's birthday and christmas 'do's' looming. Can only do my best though.

My food diary was fairly samey last week as usual, I don't think I tried anything new so I won't write it all down. Will update today later on though and get back in the habit of doing it every day.

Off to check up on you all now and see how you've been doing!

Thanks Val x

I weighed in yesterday and had gained a pound. Boo. Don't know why. Weighed in this morning and had lost 2 pounds. Boo. I'm fluctuating all over the place again without actually losing anything much. Am I destined to never get below 80kg??! One things for sure, if I ever get anywhere near target, maintaining is nailed.

Thursday was like this:

B: Yogurt, pear, pineapple, strawberries, banana

L: Pasta and sauce, veg, cheese (hexa). Mango, grapes, satsuma

Snack: Roll (1.5 hexb)

D: Quorn steak, roast potatoes, carrots, brocolli, carrots, gravy (2). Yogurt.
1 alpen (half hexb)

Friday:

B: Pear, banana, plum, pineapple, strawberries, yogurt

L: Mugshot, ryvitas (hexb), 4x laughing cow squares (hexa), radishes, pickled onions. Yogurt. Mikado (0.5)

D: Bean chilli and rice. Alcohol free lager (1), Phish (7)

Thankfully the Phish tub is now finished. I feel as though a weight has been lifted from me! I'll pretend I don't know that there's a tub of Cherry Garcia and a Fudge Brownie in the freezer outside. They can stay there for a while I think.

Hi beegee

Just thought I'd have a nosey at your diary as I'm mixing things up and doing green this week to see if I can shake my body up into losing the last 2lbs

I noticed in the above that you've had alcohol free lager for 1 syn, which lager is it?

I'm only asking as I used to drink Sainsburys Czech lager until somebody pointed out to me last week that the syn values have charged on the website. Instead of it being 1syn for the full bottle it's now listed as 4 syns for the bottle.

If its not that one just ignore me whilst I carry on reading your diary! x

Thanks Val!

Wednesday:

L: Mugshot, finger slice of pizza, few mini cheddars (5) - had kids lunch with some of my son's friends. I took a mugshot so I didn't eat too much of the naughty stuff which is just as well as I could have done the whole big bag of Mini Cheddars on my own given half a chance.

Snack: malted milk (2)

D: Meatfree bolognese pasta bake (hexa), yogurt

Haven't had any hexb's yet. I'm off to a meeting in a minute so may make some toast when I get back as long as it's not too late.

Weigh in this week was sts. That's ok as I maintained a big loss last week. At the moment over the month I seem to do - big loss, sts, little gain, little gain. I suppose as long as the trend is basically downwards that's fine and as long as I still get a loss every month that's the main thing (even though it's pitifully small!)

Today has been:

B: Yogurt, banana, mango, persimmon, melon

L: Savoury rice wih extra veg, cheese (hexa). Yogurt.

Snack: Toast (hexb) with butter and jam (2).

It's saturday night, so the syn fest will be starting very soon. Hooray - bring on the wine!

Enjoy your synfest Beegee :) Well done on maintaining your big loss, I'm a big believer in seeing the trend rather than each loss or gain. Have a good week!

Thanks Gobolino! I wasn't too synful, couple of glasses of wine and a low(ish) fat curry but it feels enough like a treat to see me through to next week. Next week will be more of a challenge actually as it's hubby's birthday. Uh oh!

Week 85 is going ok so far, same old routine.

Mon:

B: Melon, pineapple, banana, mango, yogurt

L: Pasta & Sauce, lots of veg, cheese (hexa), plums, yogurt

Snacks: spoon of kids veggie korma (2), bit of my daughter's cooking - orange shortbread today which was better than average (2)

D: Bean and quorn chilli & rice, cheese (hexb)
Oaty Bar (hexb)

Tuesday:

B: Yogurt, banana, pineapple, persimmon, melon

L: Jacket potato, beans, sweetcorn, cheese (hexa)

Snack: yogurt, satsuma

D: Linguine with green beans, mushrooms, onion, sweetcorn, kind of tossed in a bit of fromage frais with black pepper and parmesan. Not sure what this will be like, watch this space later.

Had a liberating 5 minutes this afternoon when I delved into my wardrobe and swapped my size 16 jeans for 14's and also removed some 18's. I don't think I'll be getting rid of these permanently, I can see me needing them at some point when I career off the wagon. However, a couple of weeks ago I did finally dump the size 22-24's in the recycling - never going back there thanks very much!

Weds:

B: Fruit, yogurt & bran flakes (hexb)

L: SW Quiche, ketchup (1). Satsuma. Yogurt

Snack: chow mein snackpot (no carbs at lunchtime leaves me STARVING!)

D: Linguine as yesterday - it was edible enough and couldn't think of anything else to make

highlights (2) Fibre Plus (hexb)

Thursday:

B: Fruit & yogurt. Toast (hexb) and butter (2)

L: Savoury rice and veg. Satsuma. Yogurt. Pear

D: Gobolino's baked risotto - made it with butternut squash and red pepper. It took ages to cook - over an hour, and would definitely have benefited from some oil and wine. I tossed in a bit of chilli and some extra tomato puree and herbs and it was ok but needs some tweaking until it's really good. Good to do something different though - I'd try it again.

Going to get a highlights and cereal bar in a mo.

Hi Beegee well done with the clothes dump! Hey nice to see you tried the risotto :) I wonder if my risotto cooked quite quick as it was in a cast cooking pot ??

Also I did add the tbsp of oil (1/2 a HB shared between myself and hubby) and also I did use the wine too ;) I'd never done a risotto so not really got much to compare to, but like you say its a starting point and would benefit from tweeking to your own tastes!

Ta Sausage, I'm not shrinking any more though. After my weekend I'll be getting those 18's out again asap!

I'm exaggerating a bit tbh but I went over my syns due to eating out twice over the weekend and then on sunday I thought in for a penny in for a pound, and for no reason at all had a bag of hula hoops and a mini twix . Hardly a blow out, but not particularly like me (anymore) to just eat gratuitously. I'm a bit worried that because it's almost Christmas my head is starting to think that I'm fighting a losing battle anyway.

So, I'm trying to claw it back today and stay on the wagon but it's getting a tad bumpy up here.

B: Fruit salad & yogurt

L: Pasta & Sauce with extra veg and cheese (hexa). Satsumas.

Snack: yogurt, 1 mini jaffa cake (see, naughty for no reason!) (1)

D: Quorn and veg stirfry (3)

Had lots of coffees with milk today (hexa), then highlights (2) and Fibre Plus (2)

So, an ok day. Here's hoping tomorrow is the same and that my head is behaving itself and keeping me on the straight and narrow.
