Beegee's Green Day Diary

Fingers crossed for us Val, let's hope we both have a good result next week. Goodness, if somebody elses scaffolding had stopped my telly I'd be even more fuming, at least we've only got ourselves to blame! Anyway, £65 to a Sky man fixed the dish and thankfully we are now back to normal. However, I'm currently watching the 'celebrities' going into the Big Brother house and wondering what possessed me to get my telly back ...

Anyway, food plan worked out as predicted except I had lentil rather than chickpea dahl. Also a highlights (2) and Fibre Plus (hexb) and an extra yogurt.

Tomorrow I feel a bean chilli coming on ...

Well, over the weekend I've had a porridge epiphany. I love a bandwagon so with all the excitement of now getting 35g I decided to revisit it, but - and here's the difference - make it with water! This has always sounded hugely unappealing, (don't know why just a bit frugal maybe?) but it was fine, nice even! I added some banana, sweetener, blackberries and a swirl of yogurt and yummy - I've found a new breakfast! Thanks especially to Gobolino - queen of porridge advice.

Apart from that, I've been good. Had a lowish syn curry last night but spent more than I wanted to on alcohol. Not cos I had lots, but what I had was really synful! 1 bottle of Crabbies Ginger Beer - 13 syns! 100ml cream sherry - 8 syns. Dear me, I wouldn't mind if I was slaughtered but I barely felt tipsy. That's the last of the Xmas drinks now though I think. Will spend alcoholic syns more wisely next week.

Not sure how my menu will shape up today so will update later.

Ha ha - glad you've rediscovered porridge Beegee :) To be honest I think its one of those things that if you add enough fruit and yumminess to it, its ok with water. Most of the time I make it with milk but in the summer when there are berries about I love to pile those on which would make up for lack of milk.

Wow I love the crabbies ginger beer, so does my hubby. Its not fair that its so synful especially with the free food allowance of apples - ha ha ;)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

Yes I meant to watch the Biggest Loser this time round as everyone on here seems so into it (another bandwagon for me to jump on - I'm a total sheep). I missed the first one but have put the rest on the planner. Does it matter that I missed it, I'm assuming there will be a massive re-cap at the beginning and I can catch up.

Today has been:

B: Porridge (hexb), banana, blackberries, yogurt

L: Pasta & Sauce, extra veg, cheese (hexa). Satsumas, yogurt.

Snack: persimmon

D: Meat free mince spag bol with a sprinkle of parmesan (hexa)

Will probably get some Ben & Jerry's in a minute. There's a tub in the freezer calling me and I'm only on 59 syns for the week so far. I'm thrilled to be back on plan properly and am feeling good for it. Bring on week 91!

Monday:

B: yogurt, banana, persimmon, mango

L: Beans on toast (hexb), apple, yogurt

Snack: mugshot

D: Quorn sausages (3), mash, gravy (2), brocolli, carrots

Oaty bar (hexb)

Tuesday:

B: Porridge (hexb), yogurt, banana, blackberries

Snack: persimmon

L: pasta & sauce, lots of extra veg, cheese (hexa). Yogurt

D: Chickpea dahl, extra veg, brown rice

Excellent stuff that you're feeling fab being back on plan. Menus are looking good, I havent had pasta n sauce in ages :p - its so good with extra veg and cheese :)

Hope you have a good week.

Actually, I'm a bit worried I have too many of the Pasta and Sauce type things as they are rather calorific. They're just so quick to make and they fill me up. I could have ryvitas and cottage cheese for lunch but then would be utterly starving by mid afternoon and use the calories on snacks instead. Not sure what I should do really as I need to be more calorie aware. Will ponder it!

Wednesday:

B: Mango, banana, yogurt, grapes, blackberries

L: Pasta & Sauce (see??!), veg, cheese (hexa). Yogurt

Snack: yogurt

D: Veg and quorn stir fry with sweet and sour sauce and noodles.

Highlights (2) Fibre Plus (hexb)

So, I finally got an answer from SW to my complaint about hexb's. It said:

Many thanks for your email, and please accept my apologies for the delay in replying. I have added an extra free week on to your membership to help make up for this, taking you to the 3rd May.

I wanted to let you know that we updated the downloadable pdfs on the 4th January, and I apologise for them not going on to the site before then. We have taken your feedback about communicating the Healthy Extra changes on board, and we are having a feature about this on the site from Monday

Warmest regards

So, while I'm sure that it's not down to me that there will be a feature on the website I have at least got an extra week out of it. I feel good about having registered my discontent too.

Found you ;-)

Well, I weighed this morning and have only lost a pound which is disappointing but at the moment I'm consumed with hormones - star week pending and I'm now 40 which I think is having a bearing. Anyone with any words of wisdom and info on getting older and dealing with hormonal changes - I'd love to hear it!

Still, a loss is a loss - it can only get better as I've been sticking to plan just fine.

B: Roll (hexb), light butter (0.5), banana, yogurt

L: Savoury rice & extra veg, yogurt

D: Creamy pasta bake (3.5) (hexa for cheese)

Don't think I'll have anything else today, I'm a bit bored of cereal bars in the evening and I'm starting to run out of them and they're not on offer anywhere so I shan't nibble for the sake of it. That said, I do still have a box of Dark All Gold in the kitchen. I could do a chocolate right now, but it's dangerous to open them ... will try and resist.

Funny how we still think in school years isn't it. Maybe it's because we now have kids of our own - or maybe we've just never grown up!

B: Yogurt, banana, mango, apple, branflakes (hexb)

L: Pasta & Sauce, sweetcorn, mushrooms, spinach, cheese (hexa). Yogurt. Satsuma. Chocolate (2)

Snack: Yogurt (again! - what am I doing?!)

D: Bean & quorn chilli, brown rice. Low alcohol lager (1)

May get something else in a mo, I'm feeling a bit friday nighty and need a treat of some sort.
