Beelishy's VLCD Weight Loss Adventure!!

You know? I'm not entirely sure. I think it can make some people go out of ketosis / make people hungry.

Personally I drink as much as I want (even the ones with citric acid in them) and I see no weight loss difference, I know it'd be this slow even if I was 100% on 4 packs and no vegetables and just water (like when I was on LL for a year).

So take it as a guideline, but go with what you feel like doing. :)

yeah. i cant see why they would put a limit on it. thats why i figured there must be some metabolic reason or something. but i think its just because people will drink too much and not enough water or in some cases may make people hungry. it doesnt do either for me. I think im going to try a week of 3 packs plus my 2 eggs for lunch, no veg or milk and having a bit more coke zero instead. Since Im not going out for Mother's Day tomorrow (no thanks to the snow and freezing temps forecast and my poor Tabby is coming down with yet another cold :( ) I will have a go tomorrow and see how I feel.

Hey Bee, just popping by to say Hi:D good idea about the chocs!! Your like I was, I felt a criminal eating my sons fish cake he made at school, it bothered me all day, but I still lost xxx

I agree one choc won't make any difference, try and enjoy it!! I was so annoyed as I don't even like fishcakes and was spoiling my diet for something I didn't like or want lol, but oh well my son was happy and thats all that matters xx:D

Haha. Yeah. I love chocolate but Im not really bothered right now. I dont really want to start myself off again but I have to remember that I am in control. I do hate to have something not on plan though, regardless of how small it is. LOL Oh well.

Ok, totally off topic.

My very best friend in the whole world's husband just friend requested me on facebook. I adore my best friend. We've been best friends for like 19 years. (That just made me feel OLD) But I really...erm. Dont like, shall we say, her husband. He trolls her friends. And I dont do the "biting your tongue" thing very well, at all. I do a bit when it comes to him because she is my best friend and obviously loves him as she's married him. But she knows how I feel and we agree to disagree. LOL. I just find him so awkward and purposefully button-pushy. I do not want to accept this friend request for fear that he will be a troll and I will have to either hush up so I dont hurt HER or I will lose my rag with him at some point and tell him to f!ck off. LOL. Then on the other hand, if I DONT accept this request it will also cause an issue. Argh. i cannot win. ok, thats me done babbling on for now.... lol! :blahblah:

Yep u r completely in control!! Ur doing fab xx

No, one choccie aint gonna harm you!
You've been so good, it isn't going to affect you at all. Not one tiny choc!

I've had a portion of chicken tikka tonight - decided to have one day a week, I'm going over 1,000 cals to trick my body out of what is essentially, starvation mode.
Been doing some reading, quite a lot actually, and this can be beneficial for boosting your metabolism and tricking the body out of starvation.
Heard it can boost weight loss, from everything I've read.
Going to give it a go and see what happens!!

Yes that will fly by, not long at all, and you'll be on your way! Bet you cant' wait!! :)

I crave breads and cheese too, and chocolate! Why are the things which are so bad for us, the one's which taste soooooooo good!! ;)

Facebook has a LOT to answer for!

Personally, I would decline, and tell him the reason why via a private message - don't give him the chance to put you in a position whereas you'd be made to feel very uncomfortable, and having to tell your friend.

Also explain to your bestie why you've chosen to do this.

I think honesty up front here is the best option, and I am sure your BF will see your reasons. I don't think this could cause a rift, but if you were put in a situation whereas her hubby compromised this, and you had to tell all, it could do at a later date.

Best nip it in the bud now. That's just my two-penneth worth!!

Ive wondered about that, Nat -- the tricking your body thing. I will be very interested to see how you get on with that! xx

I've done it today, will keep you updated! xxx

Aw, thanks so much. You've definately sold me. I know ketosis works for me and if I can get it for less money and with a greater variety then it is a no brainer.

Unfortunately I still have a months' worth of Exante left but will switch over as soon as I can. I quite like Exante but as I still have a lot of a way to go, variety is definately the way to ensure an easier ride.

I also took a look at the website and I love that you can work out your calories and ketosis levels.

Thanks again, hope you're having a great weekend xx

I was really going to go for Exante, but something stopped me!
I ordered the Men's 5 packs per day - same products, but it works out a little cheaper. I figure if I have some days on 3 packs plus one low carb meal, I can stretch it for much longer than a month, taking the cost down to arround £23 per week - cheaper than exante I think, and definitely more choice.

To be honest, I never dreamed a diet like this could be so much fun! It's tasty, has loads of variety, and you have the option of having a real meal every day if you wish. Which ever plan you choose, you will lose the same weight.

Yes, you go in to Ketosis around day 4-5. Averaging around 650 cals per day, and 55g carbs. It's impossible not to really.
One thing I prefer about S&S is you get to have four meals pd, which I thinks to help curb the appetite. Exante is three isn't it?

Hope that helps, and PLEASE, no apologies needed! That's what we're here for - all helping and supporting each other - Another great reason this diet is working!!

You're welcome hun :)

I think you'll love S&S's products, I've only found one I wasn't keen on - the Cafe Latte shake, but that's prob because I don't like coffee flavoured things, even though I love coffee (Yes, I am weird lol!!).

I love that - the mealplanner! Keeps me on track, and I try to keep my carbs as low as possible, it's a great tool.
The customer service is brilliant too - I've had emails replied to late at night, they really are on the ball.
It feels like you have a lot of support if you need it!
As well as us lot on here too, lol!!

Thank you, you too!
It's my first Mother's Day tomo, so I'm very excited!!

Morning ladies! Happy Mother's Day!

I got up and opened my cards and lovely little pressies. Tabby made me a er...thing (for lack of a better word! lol) out of clay and painted it purple. And I had half of a choc. LOL. I let Tabby choose one of the 3. Then let hubby choose one of the 2 left. So I bit mine and it was lemon cream YUUUUCCCKKK. So I spat it out and hubby said he would switch with me. LOL. His was dark and white choc marbled in a little square (and I mean litttle. LOL) So I bit off half and let him have the rest. Tabby was in stitches at my gaggy face over the lemon cream and I had a decent little bite of choc and really..didnt want anymore. LOL. So it has been a lovely morning, despite the snow! (Argh!)

Oh and I decided to have a sneaky peek on the scales today as my little Mother's Day treat to myself (LOL) and Im down into the 250s!! (jus, at 259lbs but hey! I'll take it!) So thats 2lbs down so far this week. Im hoping to get at least another pound off(the more, the merrier though, obviously LOL) by WI on Wednesday!

I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

Happy Mother's Day!

Aww, I would love to have seen her little face when she gave you the gifts!
Have a fabulous day!!

And well done on the loss and now being in a lower stone bracket, WHOOP!!!

Today has been... a bit of a bust. We're stuck inside due to snow, I think its nearly TOTM as Im feeling uncharacteristically weepy and starving lol, and we all had a nap but the girls and I have been up for over an hour and hubbys still asleep. Mother's Day? Pah!

Ignore me, just sitting here feeling sorry for myself. :)

Ahhh Bee, big hugs 2 u xx:)

Awww Bee!!

Hope you can make up for it when the weather is better :(

I can't believe how cold it still is! Always, for as long as I can remember, for two weeks near hubby's BD, mid-Feb, we have one to two weeks of unusually mild weather for that time of year. A couple of years ago, I was sat on Fiscal Beach in Newquay, on 14th Feb, with just a tiny vest top and shorts on, and I got a tan!
It's not happened this year - the only sign we have of Spring approaching is the lighter nights!

Come on Mr Sunshine, you've been hiding for too long now, and we need you to lift our moods!! ;)
