Big Boys Need Love Too!

good morning guys :)

wedding dress shopping was successful :) it's all in my diary and i don't want to write it all again. but let's just say that i came out of that shop with exactly the opposite to what i went in for. i can't of vanished in this dress. i did get coerced into the one i got, but to be honest i looked far better in it than in the others. and they are changing bits of it to make it a bit more me (a bit more red :D) so we're going with that. there will be pics but it will be a while before mum gets to scotland again and can email them as she didn't bring her cable and ours didn't fit...

today i mean to mainly slob. i ate badly yesterday being the day it was. back on the wagon today but i will be lucky to have lost a thing this week according to my scales. hoping by the end of today they'll be being a bit more kind...

Hey Guys,

Abz well done on the dress. I so would have loved to do the whole wedding dress thing, but time wasn't on our side neither were funds, so I wore a work dress I had that was nice. But I am uber happy for you...that is the biggest things done!

Gem, Hope you enjoyed your swimming and that it went well.

Taz, I am sure you mum will understand. My mum's stuff is always months later.*LOL* It's just a pain trying to find something for someone who has everything, and being over here and her over there, makes it even harder. I bought a tea pot for my sister in law one year and it took me 2 years to send it.*LOL* I am terrible at packages. Letters fine, packages bad bad bad! But I am sure if you give her thoses chocs and a super strong hug and kiss and maybe pamper her a bit she will be just fine with it all.

Elle, Thanks about my dream...I am a bit of a freak when it comes to dreams and lucky for me I was soooooo tired last night I didn't even remember my dream.

Well today it is more of the usual. Cleaning...cleaning...and oh I almost forgot....CLEANING!!!

I am still on the hunt for a few baby things and have found the perfect cotbed for my little chris. And I am going to be rearranging my LU's room too so that he will feel like he is getting something different too. Plus I am going to buy him a few new things for his room too so he doesn't feel like the baby gets all the new stuff.

So what are you lot up to today?

Afternoon all, I have only just got round to picking up my computer as I have spent the last 5 hours finishing of my new nephew's blanket as he is due to arrive very soon! Mission complete, here I am!

Abz, glad you got your dress sorted out.

Gem, how was swimming? And why are you lonely?

Hi everyone. I've had a very active day today :mermaid:swimming this morning for an hour and this afternoon we travelled to the Canal toe-path just outside Bath and walked for an hour and a half :bliss: We/ve just got back and I'm sat with a nice cup of coffee.

I've updated my activity ticker and also added an hour I'd forgotten.

Abz - I've got a little gadget that comes with a draw-string bag that I bought in Asda. It's a retractable USB connection that has all kinds of connections at the other end to connect to all sorts of different cameras etc. I can connect my camera and my phone (therefore get photos from the phone) to any computer with it. :) x

Taz - Sounds like your nephew is a very lucky little boy and will love his Aunty Taz blanket :) and your mum will love the hugs more than the chocs or the present - cos I bet you're the only Taz she'll ever have :hug99:x

Jenn - I reckon you're getting everything sorted out and will be well ready for your new little boy :) x

Things like that are really important to little ones Taz - they'll always remember it - and probably keep it too x

Taz, I KNOW your mum won't mind about the present, she sounds like a fab lady! ;)

Hi all! just a quickie here cos im dying to get into bed...this weekend has been AWFUL. it's been my sister's 21st today. Yesterday I had...cake and chocolates...today I had... a three course meal (ending in apple crumble), 2 lots of different kinds of cake and crisps. My water consumption has been ridiculously low and i'm feeling fat, frumpy and bloated. I need a kickstart. So, I have decided to do a calorie counting week... boohoo. it helped me last time, however poo it was, so i hope it'll help again. Im also supposed to be going pilates tomorrow with some friends but im a little nervous. Im hoping i wont find an excuse to get out of it. im usually quite good at doing that.. :S

oh boy oh boy. I wont look at the scales till at least wednesday, im too scared... x

Good morning everyone :)

Another new week has begun and my squatter situation hasn't changed for over a week  I'm gonna try to shift at least 3 of the little blighters this week - they are defo getting far too comfortable. The notices are on the door and they are on borrowed time :D

Having had a good exercise boost yesterday I am feeling like I have "blown the cobwebs from the doorway" a little and I am feeling quite positive about this week. I am gonna try to go swimming at least twice this week and, if the rain lets up, go for a couple of walks. In house there is still the stepper and the dance mat (bet I could make a fortune if I went public on that - do people still pay to see clowns) :p

Elle - Good luck with your kick-start :asskick: x

Jim - Hope you are still smoke free - If so, how is it feeling to start week 2 of another amazing journey? :) x

Abz - Bet you really do feel like a "bride-to-be" this week - ITS REAL - ITS HAPPENING!!!!!!!! :) x

Jenn - Don't work too hard at the cleaning - give yourself some down time too :) x

Taz - Are you back at work yet or do you have another week at home :) ?

Tyn - Have you started back on CD yet  x

Have a good Monday everyone :)

Morning all, I know my mum won't mind but I really wanted to get it for her on time! I guess it serves me right for fannying around and not ordering it soon enough!

Still off work Gem, supposed to be going back at the end of the week but got doctors today so we shall see!

Where has Jim got to? And Tyn?

Good luck with the docs and don't go back unless you are sure it is the right thing to do x

Well I'm on 2 minds about it at the moment Gem, I don't feel ready to go back but at the same time I don't want to be lazing around here all day. My OH nurse wants me to get back to work as soon as possible but she wont let me go back to full duties until I am absolutely ready. I will talk it through with the doc and see what they think

Hi I'm here, just reading up on everyone's weekend. I had a very lazy one frankly, just slobbed around.

Yes, I'm still smoke free Gem, still grumpy though, but I do feel better than the beginning of last week.

Crazy weather over the weekend wasn't it, howling winds and lashings of rain, or was that only Birmingham.

Ditto Taz, peeing down here.

wow jim!! you're really going for it!!

well i have decided to go onto the 1000 cambridge plan. at least for this week as it's my birthday at the end of it and i don't want to drink loads having just come off cambridge. it's rather dangerous. i may reassess what to do at the beginning of next week, but the 1000 plan for this one i reckon. which is terrifying. i've done it for a couple of days and have gained about 4lbs since yesterday... saying that, my scales seem to be going a bit loopy. so i don't know what's going on. what i do know is that i don't want to get weighed tonight. i think i'll be lucky to stay the same!!

hope everyone had a lovely weekend?

abz xx

The rain messed up my plans really, on Sunday we were going to go the the Cold War Museum at RAF Cosford, but the rain made Colleen just want to snuggle in front of the fire, so we did ;). I'm not complaining.

We had really crazy weather too but it cleared up Sunday morning and gave way to a love day of stolen sunshine - very cold but bright. The canal path was lovely - ducks, moor hens, boats and woodsmoke - just a lazy meandering path going into the distance. The bit we went on was from Limpley Stoke near Bath going towards Avoncliff and Bradford-on-Avon. At the start it goes over an aqua-duct, really high above a valley with a railway line and a river running underneath - stunning. It was only the fading light really that stopped us walking for longer. Canal paths are flat and easy to walk and this one seems to go on forever :)

Good news about the continuing smoke free Jim - Never mind being a bit grumpy - you're doing well :D

Hi Gem

Sounds lovely, I work near the canal system here in Birmingham and often go for a walk in the Lunch hour, it's lovely when it's nice and the wildlife is incredible.

I like canals. I often used to take the kids to the canal to walk or to help with the locks - they loved it - it's a little window into a whole different world, especially the rich history of the canals. The start of our walk was the old coal canal.

When I was in my teens I was involved with a group of lads who did an annual canoe race along the canals. This would last all day. I remember one was (I think) Banbury to Coventry via Rugby, ending up in the actual Courtaulds Factory who provided a meal for everyone at the end. Great stuff and loads of fun on the way - some beautiful places to see as well as industrial stuff x
