well there is that jim... this morning i have been faffing with service tags and swapping around monitors. we have just give some staff dual monitors, one in portrait and of course they all want them on the opposite side to which they were put and asking loads of questions about things we can't change *sigh*...

Why would they need dual monitors?

so they don't have to print out an awful lot of documentation jim, they do a lot of data inputting and this way they can just look at it on the other screen. hopefully all that faff is over now. the company is having a major paper-saving (so money-saving) and no-printing drive at the mo!!

ha. no jim. that would realistically be a nightmare for them. and we have far too many machines now since our staff numbers have decreased so we had the monitors. they do a lot of comparison checking etc so alt-tabbing it would be awful!! i give them the benefit of the dual screens. just wish they wouldn't be so bloody picky about it. still. it made the time fly this morning.

i've just seen your post on gem's thread about laptop cables!! aargh. we did have five spare and people that don't usually work here saunter up and take stuff and we have to crawl about to find them.... we don't have any now!! they'll be under a desk somewhere. grrr.
