Big Boys Need Love Too!

Good morning everyone :character00238:

Sunshine, glorious sunshine and if we believe the weather girl on GMTV there's more to come this week :) It's been a good weekend in Wales and as predicted the boys have worn me out. New baby is smiling now, one year old is now walking and three year old is quite demanding and quite determined to get his share of grandparent time.

We took a steady drive to Wales, stopping at Laugharne on the way (only about 4 miles of the road but we've meant to go there for ages and didn't) to have a look at Dylan Thomas's boat house. What a lovely spot - very tranquil, no wonder he got inspiration from being there :)

While there I bought a copy of "Under Milkwood" with Richard Burton narrating (again something I've been going to do for years) so I'm looking forward to listening to that later. I love Thomas's use of words and the way he sets a scene that you can see in your minds eye.

On Friday evening I joined some people who were playing music in a little bar and had a couple of pints of the black stuff to lubricate the vocal chords (good excuse don't you think?) :)

The countryside and the hills were beautiful in the sunshine (we usually see it through the mist and rain) and I was able to go walkabouts with my 3 year old grandson and identify some flowers with him - we also stayed quiet and watched a little robin in a bush which amused him no end (until he couldn't contain himself any longer and made a sudden move and the robin flew away).

It looks as though we will briefly see them again next week as they are passing through the area and we'll meet up for an hour or so.

Meanwhile, back home and I've still got the sorting out to do. I took a large bag of books over to my daughter at the weekend. She was pleased with them as some of them she remembered from childhood and will enjoy again through her children :) and others were to do with organic gardening which she is hoping to do this year.

Have a great day everyone :)

good morning everyone :)

glad to hear you had a lovely weekend gem :)

the sunshine has been lovely :)

i have a loss of 1lb to report this week. not as much as i was hoping for but since i still have friday night's dinner, saturday night's chilli and yesterday's sunday dinner inside me somewhere i'm sure that i'll have a better loss next week, ha.

back at work and the smell is still here. and nobody else can smell it. but it's definately not me because i'd forgotten about it and it hit me as soon as i walked through the door again. but it seems that everyone that works here has a really bad sense of smell (as admitted by all of them). it makes me feel sick so i'm keeping my nose close to my snackajacks and my tea in the hope they'll disguise it somewhat :)

It needs reporting Abz - it could be a health and safety issue if it is dead mouse. The 1lb loss is cool and could be a heads up on next week's loss as well if you still have some naughty stuff inside you too x

Morning all, a loss is a loss Abz!

I have a friend coming round at 1030 cus she has to go to the hospital for a scan to try and discover what her mystery stomach pains are (personally I think it may be stress as they seem worse when she is having a drama!) and the hospital is at the top of my road so we will go up there together. Then just chillin til training tonight

Sounds like you've got your day planned out. Tomorrow I've got a funny old day waiting in for the people to come and sort out my suite of furniture. Don't know when they are coming so can't really get into anything much until they've done their bit but it will be well worth it when it's done x

I have a busy day again tomorrow then hopefully quiet for the rest of the week. Added to that, my brother may be dropping by either today or tomorrow if he has time as he is passing through the area

sounds like you guys are busy today :)

i don't think i have anything planned tonight. i thought i had tomorrow off work but i've realised that in actual fact i don't... i am working the evening shifts :( so although i don't have to get up early tomorrow i do have to work until 11pm. and i forgot about it. waaargh. i was really looking forward to having tomorrow off work!!

still. might be going swimming before work. the first time in a few weeks. must wash my hair a few times tonight. i'm totally paranoid about leaving red streaks through the pool as i swim as the colour still comes out when i'm in the bath!!

Hi Gemstar, sounds like you had a good weekend in Wales. Yesterday was nice here, we actually sat out in the garden for a couple of hours before the Rugby. We had the kids round for Sunday lunch, and then we blokes went down to the pub for the Rugby and a (cough) wee drink or two. :D

who Moi? never ;)

abz, I'm going to post a picture in a moment, TITGirl, that's our Michelle bought me a present this weekend. Never let it be said that IT workers don't have a sense of humour.

Here you go, That'll teach me to shut up about Atkins. :D
