Welcome back Elle. x x :D

:sick0019: Hey - trust Elle to come straight in through the toilet :p

Welcome back Elle - we've missed you x :)

Hello everybodyyy :) Me and the voices - we've missed you too ;) xxxx

Good morning, looks like I'm the early bird this morning.

good morning everyone... i'm not having the best morning so far. serious serious wedding money panic...

think we're going to forget the honeymoon, nobody is going to have any flowers and we're all drinking tap water!!

Good morning everyone :)

Yes Jim - we heard you singing

Abz - What about a group of friends getting together for an arty evening with silk flowers - you can get all the bits for boquets etc and the table ones would get done in no time. If they were done in advance they could be taken to the reception place and put on the tables by staff probably. Have a few pictures to work from. It's just a suggestion but it can be done :)

:brainfart: Why not have a cheapie honeymoon in dear old Blighty after the wedding and save for the biggie for your first anniversary - It'll be really special that way :)

Either way hun - chin up - this is supposed to be the best time of your life - don't spoil it with worrying :hug99: x

Have a good day everyone x

Oh Abz I think that is a common worry. For the honeymoon you can either do what Gem suggested or you can book a holiday with First Choice and get a reference number so that everyone can pay a bit towards it as a wedding present

we've asked for money for our wedding pressies in any case and have an interest free credit card to get the honeymoon and pay it off as much as poss with wedding monies.

have just emailed the venue. they stipulate as part of their hiring contract that if you have extra people coming in the evening then you have to put a buffet on. i have said that there are only around 10 extra people in the evening, and do i really have to feed everyone twice in three hours for this.

the hall manager has said that they usually only recommend food for more than 20 guests.

i have emailed back requesting clarification that i'm not breaking some kind of hall hiring policy. i don't want to end up paying a fortune because of some stupid accident. now if i don't have to pay for a buffet that's about £500 down... which would be nice. doesn't stop the panic as i've realised that there are massive costs, but it would help more than a little bit!!

Hello everybodyyy :) Me and the voices - we've missed you too ;) xxxx

Why should you have "the voices" and the red shoes. That's downright unfair :dooney:

Tell me what the things are that you are stressing about and I will see if I can help you with them

That's a good idea - Taz knows about these things Abz x

just not having enough money.

hopefully this hall manager is about to save me £500. if i don't give everyone a glass of wine with dinner (scrooge that i am) that's another £200. if a couple of people don't show up like i think they won't (total guilt factor when you start feeling relieved when people can't come) then that's another £200, and then i think we'll be able to scrape it together... oh god.

Well if you don't have to do the buffet then that will definately help. Ask the venue how much they would charge for corkage if they would allow you to bring your own wine and see if you can do wine cheaper that way. Or get a quote for Bucks Fizz instead of wine for toasting

Is there room to downgrade the dinner option?

hey guys. corkage is massive. about £6.50 or something. And we would only end up saving about £20 if we wanted decent wine. And if we get all our wine from them we get free hors d'whatsits so it's worth it really. bubbly for a toast is ok, although i have no clue how many glasses you get from a bottle as it's all priced in bottles.

as for costing down the food. well i don't know how much that will be. it could be a bit less as i've worked it out based on the most expensive choice people can make as i don't know how much the veggi option is yet, but have emailed the caterer's asking them.

and i don't have to get the evening buffet so that's something at least.

heart rate has slowed a little... not much, but a little, ha. it was all i could do not to tell the hall woman that i wanted to kiss her :)

bless them. my bridesmaids have offered to buy me my wedding jewellery as my wedding pressie. i feel like a pauper now *sniff*
