Elle, yes definately get it checked out with your doctor and keep on at them til they agree to investigate it propery. When I had a torn cartiledge in my knee it took 13 months from the time I first presented to the time of my operation and that was only because I went to a private clinic for the op, otherwise it would have been another 6+ months! Keep on at them

Abz, when I was a manager I was 'mates' with many of the staff I'd known for a long time and I would choose to spend time away from work with these people. That's not to say that the people I didn't know so well were not nice, I just didn't know them as well as the others. Don't take it personally. Why not try suggesting that someone organise a departmental works outing?

how can i not take it personally when every other person in our team is invited but me? as it is i couldn't have gone in any case, but that isn't the point... i would never invite all but one of them anywhere. it's just plain rude... or at least that's how i feel about it. justified or not.

well with the new guy starting before i'll see them all i don't really know how to ask without making a bit of a scene. i'll ask my mate later if he knows why i wasn't invited... it just seems so strange... i think to be honest they just didn't think. but that doesn't bode well for the future. grrr. sitting here at work all day isn't helping either, while they are all nursing hangovers. maybe that's why. i'm the one stuck with the sunday shift, but surely asking would be nice of them, even if they assume i'm going to say no... AAAAAAAAARGH. *******s

I don't thing you should ask any one any thing. I stand by my point before. People aren't obliged to invite you to their homes just because they work with you. You go to work, to earn money. Making friends is a happy bonus. You'll end up alienating people and burning bridges.
Give it up, turn it loose and ignore the fact they all got together over the weekend. Silence is golden.

it really is roasting. but i'd rather be out there than in here, ha.
have just remembered that since we have a new member of staff starting tomorrow i should tidy my desk up a bit. i'm not meeting the guy until i'm next in on wednesday so don't want to look like the slobby one. that's for the guys to do
