Awww, thanks you guys ((((((hugs)))))))

I had a great evening with Lucy at the wine bar and tomorrow we are going to one of the local pubs to a quiz night! LOL We are both pants at them but figured what the heck!

So... this evening - well... before I left I missed a 3rd call from "Eric" and rang him back to find it was another inoportune moment!! What a nightmare! I was gutted... he told me he would talk to me tomorrow (today now) and I was a bit off but said yeah, ok.. I was a bit off coz he was going out with his mate for food and beers! (Had I known he was up for going out tonight I would have gone to see him! Still,. his choice. :( mutter mutter mumble mumble... )

Anyway, I sent him a cheery text to say where I was going and that I'd be home my 11.30pm and wishing him a great evening. He replied and that was that. Not heard from him since but that's ok coz I bet he's well beered up and exhausted too! He is picking up the children in the morning so, unless he calls me before he does that I shan't hear from him until tomorrow night - by which time I shall be out in the pub with Lucy! lol

See - I don't sit around waiting for the phone to ring... lol (Although I wish it would! ;) )

The evening in the wine bar was excellent, the duet was a couple called Lisa and Ronan and I have to say, she has the most amazing voice!! You would never believe it if you saw her... but it takes your breath away! AND... they are a smashing pair of people. I first heard them at an open air gig in the summer, I was so impressed that I asked her if she minded me taking her details... these I passed on to the couple who own the wine bar ... and the rest, as they say. , is history! :D

They're on again on Dec 9th so me and Lucy are going to try and get a heap of people to come along and make a night of it. Not sure under what auspices we can do it , but we're both bright girls and will think of something! :D

As it hit midnight Zoe came charging down the stairs singing "Happy Birthday" to me.. lol and then thrust into my hand all my cards and a pile of presents. bless her, she got me an electric blanket for my bed!!! I am going to put it on as soon as I get upstairs!! lol AND she got me a cute keyring and my favourite poem on a plaque... the Footprints poem.

She also got me a massaging, heating foot spa!! Bless... lol I gave my old one away years ago as I never used it so will HAVE to use this one! She told me that she was trying to think of a gift that would help my arthritis in my ankle. I'm so proud to have such a thoughtful daughter. :D

My sister sent me the set of DVDs called Trumptonshire! I cannot wait to watch them! (I think that might be the order of the day tomorrow morning!)

The cards are lovely, some are hilarious too! Gosh, my friends know me SO well! lol

My mother sent me the most beautiful pair of soft deep pink leather driving gloves, they are lovely and fit perfectly! I love them!

My card from Sarah (my elder daughter) didn't arrive.

I've had some lovely pm's on here wishing me a Happy Birthday too - I am so fortunate. So, thank you all.

It's almost an hour into my birthday and I feel great.

Thanks too for your encouragement to stick to this plan! Tonight was, I think, the toughest time so far. Lucy nibbled on a ramekin dish full of peanuts and my mouth just watered constantly!!! lol I did pick up the dish and sniff them!! lol

I can't help it, for some reason it takes away the craving!!!

Right, a few more minutes on here then I'm off to bed... if I wake up and feel in the right frame of mind I shall be off to church.. if not then under me duvet is where I'll be... snuggled up on my leccy blankie... lol watching dvds!

Cheb - I ache to wear a slinky black dress... in fact, I have one hanging in my wardrobe that my mate Zoe loaned my girls a few years ago... it's a freakin' size 12!! lol Anyway, by the time I can wear such a dress I might not like it any more! lol But yes... one day I shall do it and that day will be an historic one for me!!!

Thanks again, you're a lovely bunch xx

I love long winded!!!! Makes the best reading, Hope you are having a lovely day x

hey Jennie - happy birthday hun.

Sounds like you're having a ball at the moment girl! Your daughters sound sooo amazing and thoughtful. you have every right to feel proud!!!!

hope you have a truly wonderful day and that you get to have a nice long chat with eric!!

Happy Birthday to me!!! lol

You lot are ace! Thank you!!:D

I woke up in time for church, well, not so much woke as was woken up by my mother at 9am!!! I mean - 9am on a Sunday morning!!!!! lol She wasn't sure it was me on the phone as I sort of grunted a sleepy dry-mouthed hello... tee hee... she got all ar*ey and grumbled at me about not being up! ROFL I'm 43!!!! lol ah well, bless her... I managed to thank her for my lovely gloves and that cheered her up.... so, was awake and then got a rake of texts from old dates! LOL:p ;)

I was quite touched actually - 3 ex-dates who had taken a shine to me more than I had to them,. each of them sent a lovely Happy Birthday message. I think that was very sweet of them and it made me feel all warm inside.. lol :p

Got a text from a real friend who asked me to go to church... we talk loads and meet up often for a gossip and to catch up on life in general, and she has been trying to persuade me back.. there's loads of stuff (which I might share another time:confused: )... and I've not been going as much as I used to... anyway... today was a communion service and I have avoided them like the plague because I got too emotional after ex-hub left me and haven't really taken communion since then... LONG story... and I'm not catholic.. anyway.. I went.. and it was ok... I went up for communion and the tears... well.. not going into all that as am filling up now again...  sooo DEEP BREATH... lol

Went off to the Co-op and got Zoe some bacon, sausages and eggs and some petit pain (her favourite) and some really tasty looking chicken in white wine sauce... and a newspaper (the Daily Mail has a free madness double cd in it!!!! so I bought that !!)... ooh, AND... I tend to comment aloud on things:rolleyes: so when I saw that there were these cds going free I just blurted aloud - "excellent" . There was this bloke standing the other side of the paper stand and he gave me a quizzical look... so I smiled and told him why i thought it was excellent and he looked sniffily and retorted " oh dear, (plummy snotty stuck up voice) I can't think of anything worse!!". I just grinned and said, "oh well, it takes me back to some great memories" and smiled and walked away! I thought - you poor sod. How boring are you! lol:eek: :D :D

I paid for everything and then tootled off to the car wash.. well, nice car - got to keep it sparkling and I am cr*p at hand washing ! Vaccumed it too! Well, WHO should I see at the garage - Mr Snotty again!  lol He was at the head of the queue in his mammoth four by four monster truck! It was THEN that the penny dropped, and I remembered who he was!!

He is the estate agent I had the most massive barny:mad: with 6 years ago when we almost bought a house from him! :D LOL He had NO inkling of recognition in his expression - LOl and I though - well, no wonder you are a miserable whatsit! LMAO:p

I just smiled again and got my car wash voucher. lol I saw him looking as I drove past him to join the queue... hee hee hee:D :D

I should have put the madness cd in! LOL

So... finally home and jumped on here as I'm off in 20 minutes to the pics!

Had a muffin before I went out this morning... but going to have another one when we get home and yes, I'll be sticking a candle in it! lol (will get a piccie!);)

"Eric" rang me as I arrived outside church, he was trying to defrost his freezer and asked me how long it would take... LOL I told him it was probably going to take a few hours! We chatted generally, he had a great night last night with his mate - they went to a noodle bar (sounded scrummy) and then got beered up.. today he is off to get the children and that'll be his day. I told him what we were going to see at the pics and he suddenly remembered it was my birthday!!! Humph.. he apologised and said "I told you I was cr*p at this! " lol I told him it was ok... he said he'll call again soon... we'll see. He also muttered something about having to defrost the freezer and clean the old flat up next weekend.. which sounds suspiciously like I won't be seeing him next weekend either!!! Hmmm... haven't told him about my night up at Brum yet... LOL Will see how HE likes that!! :D

So... better skedaddle and have a squirt of perfume and get on my way!!

Ohh... my daughter Sarah just rang me from work to wish me a happy birthday and said she will call me later when she finishes. :D :D :D :D It was lovely to talk to her.

I am SO lucky. I have two wonderful girls, a family who even though they nag me for late nights, LOL, love me and friends who make me feel good. What more could I want?

(well... apart from an "Eric" on tap ... tee hee hee)...;)

Thanks again, you are all lovely and have made this an even more special day xxxxx:D :) :D :)

Well, back (briefly) from pics... we went to see The Prestige - a sort of suspense pic with Michael Caine and David Bowie in it. It was very good in the end, but I did get a bit bored at the beginning... but there were lots of twists to it and in the end it was very good. Zoe disowned me in the foyer as I went through the pic'n'mix section lifting up the flaps and sniffing the contents!! I can recommend the chocolate covered pieces! They smelt divine - and the crispies and the strawberry licorice too... but the fudge had me sniffing a few times! She also hid her maltesers as I kept grabbing the bag for a whiff every so often during the film!!

My mates bought some ben & Jerry's icecream and I sat and slurped my little bottle of perfectly clear.... it wasn't so hard really as the film occupied my mind... not only that I have thought for a long time that cinema "goodies" are a rip off so haven't been in the habit of buying them!

And so... home again. We forgot to leave a light on for the dog - he hates being on his own in the dark and I don't blame him! There was a card and prezzie on the doorstep from my mate Lisa which is nice.

I've got about an hour and a half before heading out again to the pub for a quiz night! No idea how it will go but I know we'll have a girly giggle so that's ok!

I made some food for Lucy when we got in - a petit pain with tuna in a coronation style sauce... it smelt yummy... and then made some chilli crisps and a birthday muffin with psyllium husks in !! YUMMY!

I've also just had a mug of Marigold Bouillon - really warmed me up superbly!

So, I'm catching up on here - thanks again for your lovely birthday wishes! - eating my crisps, drinking my water and my perfectly clear and looking forward to a great evening to round everything off.

This has possibly been the best birthday I've had in 3 years!

Ah hun what a busy social life you have, i'm well jealous - been stuck indoors all day - my choice though, but i always feel so much better when i'm busy busy busy!!

Good luck with the quiz!! Have they got wireless internet access, you could always ask us for the ansas there are so many clever people on here (myself NOT included!) haha

Thanks Mandy :D

Lol Karen - I've just spent the last hour almost chatting on msn with Sarah (daughter at uni) I put the web cam on and she looked so shocked and made me stand up and do a twirl for her.. lol... she can't believe how much weight I've lost! YIPPEEE!!! lol

As for the pub quiz... me an Lucy are absolutely crap at them but will have a giggle anyway... now, you KNOW I would rather be with "Eric" but his loss... hmph... he could have said... come down to me for 8... and I would have gone! But no... so... blerhh.. lol (not really - really DO want to see him, but can't let HIM know that I'm so keen... flippin' hard though!)

I've got tomorrow off work and almost suggested he do the same but I know he won't and I'm not going to suggest it! Stubborn mare I am! lol

I've crammed this weekend with stuff to stop me from dwelling on the past and getting all miserable.. and it's worked! lol So.. this will definitely go down as being a great birthday! AND.. it looks like Lucy and I will get one of our mates Leigh to come along regularly in future to the quiz night so that will be fun too! hee hee

Will let you know how badly we do when I get in! Thanks again you guys... it's been lovely xx
