well... not really sure where to begin recounting the weekend's events! lol
Blew Scotty out, and then had a text from Bikerman saying he thought I was lovely, lol, then a flippin call from the chap I met a couple of weeks ago who reminded me so much of my ex brother-in-law... asking me what I was doing and would I like to go to the Casino!
Flippin like buses!! lol
So - texted Bikerman to tell him I was seeing someone else, and told Casinoman about my date too. He wanted to know where we were going in Northampton (had a feeling he was going to come and find me).. and I told him I wasn't sure. He said he'd text me later. So.. all dressed up and very excited, I set off to meet my Saturday night date... Blueeyes... that's definitely his nickname... for the first time ever I was EARLY for a date.. only by 10 minutes.. but early nonetheless..
OMG! Well, let's just say... instant spontaneous combustion upon sight! He was wearing a fabulous pink Lee Cooper shirt and jeans with really smart brown shoes (sorry, but he did look damned good! AND he smelt good too!! 1881 I think he said..) lol So, deep breath hello grins and a peck of a kiss and then into separate cars to drop mine off en route to the pub. (noted his car reg and texed it to my mate Lisa). lol (well, can't be too careful!) We went to Billing to a pub called The Mill House.. it was so pretty. We sat in the evening sunlight, grinning like morons at each other and talking fity to the dozen trying to cram as much of our life histories into what might be our only conversation. Where we were sitting had views of the water on 2 sides... and the narrow boats and cabin cruisers... we talked and talked and then he leant across the table and kissed me. Swiftly followed by an apology and my blushing like a kid caught with her hand in the biscuit box, and him blustering that he just wanted to kiss me so much... I got all tongue-tied and managed to tell him it was ok, I wanted him too. Both of us giggling like kids at this stage and a very comfortable silence fell upon us....
He went and got some more drinks - mine a diet coke, his soda and lime.. don't think he's much of a drinker anyway... but oh my goodness, those eyes!!!
Anyway... it cold cold and we decided to have a walk .. (hand in hand!!!) started to wander around but reached a dead end and headed back to the car and set off for Northampton.
We headed straight for the new 80's bar that I'd heard about at the fancy dress party - it was packed fit to bursting!! LOADS of youngsters there (by that I mean early 20's)... and so crowded that it wasn't a good place to be on a first date really.. so we left there and found ourselves a pub in the city centre.. (during all this, Casinoman had texted me to ask where I was in town and would I like to meet??) (I replied that we were in the 80s bar.. we were at the time...and no, meeting was not an option.. - didn't tell him that we were leaving the bar.. lol... but still... didn't lie!) Found a pub that had music playing and went in. Brilliant choice! JUST my kind of music.. and we danced all evening... stopped to talk now and again, he stood and watched at times.. and I just danced my heart out! lol It was busy but not packed, the music was fab, lots of the stuff I'd heard on holiday.. which I've only heard since in an African Club my sis took me to...
I was very happy. He was very happy. LOADS of eye contact ALL evening. Very very good vibes. lol
Didn't leave the pub until kicking out time and ummed and ahhed over whether to go to a club and decided not to as I was limping by now.. so... we picked up my car on the way back and he came round to my place to 'use the loo'.
Suffice it to say, I offered him a coffee... which never got made... (he's a sugar free appleade convert!) I put on the Bliss channel on Sky (never listened to it before, but loads of slushy music - was spot on!)... we danced in candlelight in my living room... he's only a couple of inches taller than me (which is unusual for me as I tend to like tall men) but the eye contact was to die for!! More life history sharing.. he saw my 'before' pics which I felt sick about (but I have a whole photo wall in my kitchen).
He was excellent company and we talked and danced for hours more.
I think my head finally hit the pillow around 6am. What a date!
Plans were made for the Sunday...
