You've had a long gap from work so its natural to be feeling that way, but after the first week back I think you will pick up really quick and start enjoying it all again lovely, its good to be busy, your day will go really fast and no time to think of food which is always a bonus ! :p xx

I think you'll agree with me on this since were both Retail Managers, every store and team finds its own rhythm. Although we are all supposed to follow the `Company ' way of doing things, each store is different. I remember when I had to send my staff to cover stores they would come back and say `their store is like this, such a mess etc etc, I would laugh and say I'm sure others make comments on our store too when they come and visit. Point I'm trying to make is everyone is more comfortable with their own store, own team and own manager. When another manager comes along in most cases people prefer to work in the way they have been used to. When my store had covering managers my staff would always moan and in a way its good for us because absence makes the heart grow fonder and it makes them appreciate us more lol :D.

I think when you return you will be pleasantly surprised how much they have all missed you. I think the longest I was off once from work was 3 weeks on sick leave. I remember when I went back a lot of the shop fittings and merchandising had changed and we were about to go into a very big season of peak trading ! I thought I would be lost going back with all the changes, but when I went I didn't have a moment to think, I was thrown in the deep end and before I knew it 2 weeks had gone by and I was actually laughing and enjoying myself and seeing the store doing so well. :p

At the end of the day as Managers were are judged on how well our store does and turnover. A new building alone will not bring in the money, you need the right person behind it to drive it. Von you've been with the Company for years, you know your stuff inside out, they can change 5 buildings for all I care, but the secret behind their success is you, there is only one Von ! They should be worried if you leave hun not the other way around lovely ! :D xx

It was t officially, the last 2weeks have been different days to tie in with the soup and salad challenges I was going with Kay, I wanted a full week on them, my wi is usually Saturday so trying to get back to that, last week I wi on Tuesday so it's a day earlier this week , I'm wondering what it would of been in the morning ,

It's the unknown being somewhere knew, and yes I totally agree if staff been helping out elsewhere the tales are so funny , and I know from covering at other stores there all different ,
I'm sure il be fine , as you say we just get stuck in and get in with it ,

And a day early from last wi as that was Tuesday, 4lb to go then that 8st is mine again,
yes I've pre warned him that his amazing talent will be needed soon (hopefully) , hee hee :)
