Morning All
Yes went to a beer festival (primarily to see the band that were on) ended up waiting in the wind and rain for 40 minutes to get in so missed the first set almost. Drank black coffee and bottled water and the missus sampled some of the beers (not really a beer fan so it bothered me not at all).

Father update - hers has come out and mine has gone in - he was struggling for breath last night so doc said he had to go in to be put on 100% oxygen to bring his levels back up. My problem is that I am starting with a stinky cold so will not be able to go and see him, bit of a bugger that. Not ideal to fill him full of cold in his condition :(

Another gig tonight, one I have been looking forward to immensely - not planning on drinking, I know I can have a good time without.

And then tomorrow hopefully going to pick up my new (to me) treadmill. Need to go and print out directions for tonight and tomorrow or will get lost at some point.

What you lot up to then?

Sorry to hear about your dad(s) - you are right to steer clear until your cold gets better though.

I am relaxing tonight, might have a Mother's Ruin and watch a bit of tellie :)

Nice gammon I got from sainsbo's yesterday - reduced so will have to eat it quickly lol

Hi Bren
Glad to hear you are enjoying going out partying even without the booze :)

Just given the parrot a shower and given his cage a good scrub, love him but he is such a mucky beggar!!!! He is called Fritz and he is 11 years old - and the most vicious sod you will ever meet!

Wow the kitchen looks gorgeous - especially the tiles :) Was it difficult to do them? I've always fancied a go then chickened out. Maybe in my next place...

It is ok putting the tiles up, the worst job is cutting them - really really hard unless you have a proper tile cutter (I don't these days so it was trial and error with hand cutters and a file).

Thanks, it is nice, just wish it was warmer, less damp and bigger lol - not much to ask for!

Bren your kitchen is absolutely fab! And I agree with Susie, the tiles are gorgeous. I wouldn't know where to start, tbh!

Hope you're having a good night out, sorry about your dad lovey. x

Morning Bren :D
How was you evening?

It was not bad, the pub was packed to the rafters, getting to the bar was a challenge to say the least. Band were on form, and I have no voice this morning, not sure if that is the singing or the cold lol.
Dad must be feeling better as I have had a text from my little Sis to say he is complaining about everyone so that is a good sign.

On the diet front and my experiment without alcohol this weekend, so far it is not a raging success and having had a legal food day, kept up with my water intake better than I usually do at weekend and drinking only soda water at the pub last night my weight has gone up this morning by about 1.5 lbs - not happy. Has anybody had any problems with soda water??????????? I know there is a bit of salt in it but did not think it would be enough for water retention.
It is very annoying that I cannot pinpoint what it is that is doing it, just hope it goes away as quickly. Any suggestions at this point would be gratefully received (and before you turn this into a poo thread Vicky - yes I have been lol).

Sounds like a great night, hun, hope your cold gets better tho.

I drink sparkling mineral water, not soda water - but have been wondering the same about diet tonic water, whether it is stalling me.

I drink vodka with soda water when Im out Bren but I know it makes me retain water. Thats probably down to the vodka mind you. That said I drink sparkling water on its own at home at night and that has a tendancy to do the same although not to the same extent. Might be something to do with the carbonation.

Unfortunately the pubs we tend to go to for band watching are not sophisticated to have bottled water - still or fizzy lol - so I don't really have a choice. Will see what happens tomorrow morning with the scales. Have been to pub today for carvery lunch - and drank still water (posh pub lol) - 4 different cuts of meat, plus crackling - with cabbage and cauli cheese for me, brought the yorkie pudding home for the dog plus a lump of crackling.

My voice is not showing any signs of coming back - and my job for the next three days should consist of ringing folks and asking them to pay up so that should be fun!
