It is great fun to knit! And quite easy to start, and a GREAT distraction when you have your hands and mind occupied on other things than thinking about food or so :D

I have got into it big style since being on this diet. I am in the middle of knitting three different blankets........ I find it sooooo relaxing to do!! I have just found a new knitting shop near me, and popped in there on the way home. I have brought three knitting magazines.... ha ha! I am obsessed!! ha ha. What are you knitting? Do you have Debbie Bliss and Rowan yarns out there???

You look lovely LadyB! What a great picture!

I knit hats and some socks/slippers. I am still learning to read pattern, before I just guessed and got my grandmother or some friend to show me. I am about to start on some baby blue socks for a friend who is due in October, that is great fun to do something that I can give away. I will enclose the link to the pattern. It also has a link to a youtube clip where they explain some more. I have gotten great help from youtube :D. Knitted Baby Booties - Size: Newborn to Six Months

I am not sure if we do have the Debbie Bliss and Rowan yarns. I haven't learned that many brands yet. What's special about those?

Do you have any great knitting sites? What kind of blankets are you knitting?

Wow LadyB you look fab. You have always reminded me of one the girls on the latest series of Britain's next top model. I don't know if you watched it she was the tall slim blonde one, I think her name was Heidi.

Knitting sounds fun but for the life of me when my Mum tries to show me I just can't pick it up.

I had cottage chesse and tuna tonight for my ss+ meal and I absolutely loved the cottage cheese. My mum and sister kept telling me it's vile and I had never tried it before but thought I would buy a tub to try and i'm so glad I did as it's yummy. I am gonna try baking it like Claira suggested in a flan dish with an egg and might add some tuna to it so it's kinda like a tuna bake minus the pasta lol or a cheese and tuna flan.

Zoe - that is a lovely thing to say, and thank you - but I don't look anything like a model!! ha ha ha! I am certainly not pretty enough! I can wait to eat on the 819 plan - your meal sounds lovely!!

Asa - I am knitting 2 squares blankets (one in place blue and cream, and the other in a pale brown and pink colour) and edging them, so they look professional.(I will post pictures when they are done) The other blanket is kind of ribbed...... I have made both patterns up as I went along!

I have used youtube too - and learnt how to cast on with two needles!!

Here are the links to Rowan and Debbie Bliss - they are the leading yarns houses over here, and make such beautiful yarn. Today I have brought Debbie Bliss' magazine, and it has some fantastic designs in it - I may be knitting other things than just blankets very soon!!! They both have free deigns on their websites.

I am so glad there is another knitter on here!! You will have to show me some photo's of your socks when they are done!!!

Bethan, you are pretty and a pretty name too - my Daughters name in fact lol.

Girls do any of you know anything about bikes? It's just that I want to get a mountain bike and I am worried about it being able to take my weight? We went to Halfords today and I rode around the shop on one (scary as I havn't ridden a bike in 10 years lol) but I was so worried the blimmin wheels were gonna go flat lol. Not like I can ask the sale assistant - excuse me can this bike take my fat arse without some embarrasment
