ButtErFlies-In It To Win It

Well done for sticking to it today Broxi. I know we have all said it lots of times but it really is all in the head and being in the right frame of mind. If we want something badly enough we can do anything and I think I just got to the point where I wanted it soooo much and think that's why I have been so determined.

I would say take it one day at a time but actually what has worked best for me on this diet is knowing that just sticking to it properly for 6 months solid I would nearly be there which I don't think you can do on any other diet. There may be weeks where you get baffled by losing only an odd pound but basically stick with it and it will work.

Any other diet would have taken me at least a year or even 2 years I believe to lose my weight so I really do have faith in cd. You will find your strength Broxi and whatever diet you choose to follow once the belief is there that you can do it there will be no stopping you xx.

Hi folks,
Nikki what age is your step son? I know it is very difficult and you are wronged but I'm going to stick my neck out and say I understand where your BF is coming from - he'll have guilt you see about bringing you into his son's life and so will be over compensating - I know because I've been there(where he is) - although it is not right to do. Stand your ground though. I don't think it can ever be plain sailing when step children are involved but it can be done and it is worth it. How's the diet going?
Zoe I've stuck to SS today so far as thought I could do with a boost as I've put about 4lb back on and feeling dead fat again. How do you do it though, can you give me any advice please. I'd love to stick to it till Christmas but don't even know if I'll last til tomorrow - I just find it so very very hard and I really don't know how you do it! So help please xxx

Hi Broxi, his son is almost 18.. can never do any wrong, bullies his younger brother and takes what he wants even if it belongs to someone else, stole from my sons friend when he stayed the night.. the list goes on. The thing is, if I am not getting any support from Ian, then its a lost cause, me reacting at all to anything. But I can't allow him to bully his brother, neither can I allow him to disrespect me, but.. he does and so it carries on, lol.. Its hard work, and when I think, hey.. its all going well, something comes up and unsetteles it.

Zoe, thanks for the support too, kids eh, lol.. You are doing sooo well, its good inspiration.

The diet is going ok, sticking to low carb, but now having a think of doing Exante.. its much cheaper then CD, but there are no counsellers in the area, so would need to buy direct.

Hello to all butterflies, hope everyone is doing ok.. went to see the 2012 film last night, after going to Nando's and having a chicken salad, so nice eve out with my son, even though it was meant as a way to get out of the house, its nice to spend some 1 2 1 time with him.

Have a good day everyone. xxx;););)

Just saying a quick hello, not started diet yet so have a few days off with salads go for my measure up and chat tomorrow so will report back,

Nikki hope you are ok, you need the support from your partner and i really hope he steps up for you hun, sending lots of love xx and good look finding the diet you want to do hun xx

Hi girls, how are you all doing? I am getting better, but still coughing and feeling tired. Hope it will be better soon. This weekend I am going to Stockholm with my friends, it will be lots of fun.

There will be a new program at WW in a few weeks, I am thinking about going back, or maybe doing something in between CD and WW. I don't know if that is a good idea? I just know that SS doesn't work for me anymore :(.

Have a great evening!

Hi all,
well I stuck to SS for a day and a half. Just can't do it! Came in from work tonight ravenous and cooked my son and myself a dinner - Diet Chef right enough so still low cal. The problem is I can't stick to any diet. I really wanted to lose half a stone by Christmas but not going to happen!

Nikki, you must really talk to bf about this. When I married Jason I wouldn't talk and it caused us problems and I wish I had now. I hope he understands.

Good luck Victoria on new diet and good luck to you too Asa - why not try up day down day Asa? It's much easier than SS - don't know about losses though - think I might try 1 day SS and 1 day Diet Chef alternatly and see how that goes - if I can stick to it!

Hi Asa. Have you just tried a low carb diet? That might be the inbetween CD and others.. Just a thought.

Have a very good weekend with your friends. xx

Thanks Zoe, Witchy and Broxi xx. I tried chatting last night and he says he can't win either way, if he sticks up for me, then he's letting his son down, if he sticks up for his son, then he's letting him down. So the silence between us continues, as I feel as his GF and as an adult, that I should be treated with respect. Never mind, am working nights over the weekend, so will be able to at least have my space.

Have ordered a weeks worth of Exante..I still have 4 days worth of CD and will combine these, with a low carb day every other day. I should then loose half stone by christmas that way for sure. Then go full steam ahead in the new year.

Hope everyone is having a good morning.

Nikki x

Hi Nikki, sorry to hear about your BF son, it's a very difficult situation for both of you, but you have the right to be respected by everyone.
As you were invited into their home, your BF should be understanding to his son's feelings as everything has changed, but make him be at least civil to you, he can't make him respect you but he can at least stop the steeling and the disrespect. Good luck.

I had a really long chat with the CDC the other day, I was moaning that I was failing on CD as I was find it difficult to stay on SS, she said what part of losing 64lbs is failing. She now has suggested I go onto SS+, I still think it’s giving into myself as I wanted to be on SS, but she has said I will probably lose the same amount as I wont be having a great deal more calories.

She gave me a few tips:-
1, Keep some cooked chicken in the fridge and if I have to snack, a few grams of chicken is much better than a biscuit or anything else, protein is used very quickly by the body and won’t be stored as fat.
2, If I want a tomato or something not on the SS+ list don’t fret, just have it, it’s just the carbohydrates, sugar and fat that I should steer clear of.
3, Keep the dairy to a minimum.
4, Don’t stress it will hold back the weight loss.
5, Keep the goal in mind not the steps in between and don’t weigh myself apart for the weigh day.

On my 2 weeks off I won’t be having any carbs, just fruit, vegetables and protein. I will also keep the dairy low as well.

Asa hope you feel well soon.

Broxi I know exactly how you feel, I’m finding it difficult to, I have decided a meal at night is the way forward.

Zoe, as always, well done you're fab. xx

Hi Jane, I have done ss+ since week 12 and it didn't affect my losses one bit. I think doing ss+ has made my journey much more enjoyable. Don't look at coming off ss as failing it's just the next step towards your goal and one you need to take to move forward. Good luck hun xx.

I didn't realise you were doing SS + Zoe. What do you eat for your other meal? I've never really thought of doing it as just thought of it as all or nothing. Eaten loads today again after being really good for a few days! P...d off!

Hi Broxi, I have been doing ss+ for 15 weeks now ever since I had to take my 810 week I decided to stay with a meal in the evening and I love it as it really gives you something to look forward to at the end of the day. I have the foods from the ss+ list and I make some nice flavoured meals with it. I love the quorn mince and I add paprika, mixed herbs and black pepper to it plus the veg bouillon stock that I boil my brocolli, cauliflower and mushroom in to the mince and reduce it and you then end up with a lovely Shepeherds pie type mince. I mix the cooked veg in with it to and add some cottage cheese-yum. I also sear tuna steak with thai spices and have with veg. I also do a chicken and veg curry by adding 2 teaspoons of curry powder to the water that the veg was cooked in and then I poach the chicken breast in it, it's a runny curry but has lots of flavour and I also do the mince this way to and it comes out like samosa mince with veg in it or a fish curry. My losses have always been great on it and I have been very happy on it, it might be worth you giving it a try Broxi.

Hope your all well this weekend, where is Claira? hope your ok honey xx

I do stuffed marrow too with the mince mix. Sorry lol have so many variations. Basically as long as you use the listed foods and quantities stated but then add a few mixed herbs, pepper, spices veg bouillon etc you can turn basic foods into a great and healthy meal and this really has taught me that simple food can taste great and it doesn''t have to be full of lots of callorific ingredients to taste great. I think this will definately help me for when I come off cd and on to maintenance to.

Sounds great Zoe. Maybe that's what I should be thinking of. I like to be innovative when cooking too and your ideas sound great. Definately thinking about trying CD for breakfast and lunch as I won't get that depression back if I eat in the evening - prob is when I start eating I often can't stop!

Yes how is everyone, Bethan, Claira? Hope you're all ok

I've gained 3lb - 11st 6lb today - not terrible but it's not going in the right direction and it's been like this for months now. Might really just try to do this and get some weight off - even if I tell myself just for another stone, then faff about some more for a few months, then get the final stone off in spring. Surely I could do that? Oh it's torture! You are prob the only one that's still doing it Zoe now out of all the butterflies.

wow this diet is scary its like no calories and now loads, ive been shopping for blueberries, mangos, strawberries and winter berries this morning and yoghurts and cottage cheese etc, i have to have three snacks a day with protein in so cottage cheese or tuna is the future haha, two shakes with fruit and mixed with juice and half water to make a lovely smoothie and a healthy meal at night combined with the really scary exercise programme she has done for me, I have to ride the bike for 15 minutes and then ski on the cross trainer for 30 minutes then use the exercise machines, then spend 30 minutes on the floor with this huge ball balancing with weights, scary stuff my body aches today but its going to be great cos muscle is appearing.

Good luck with all your changes girls and well done so far.

Sounds great Witchy and yum yum to the smoothies. I love cottage cheese so thats all good too.

Broxi, how about ss+ from now till Xmas even if it's just to get you feeling great for Xmas and to break the cycle your in now. You could lose a stone easy from now until Xmas week, then have a great Crimbo and then back to it after the festivities.

ps the ss+ meals are very filling.

hi girls, im still about, just battling with myself again. matt has hid my scales and again im on day two. had an arguement with a big bowl of pasta the other day. it won. so im out for revenge on it ....
i am just slowly trying one day at a time again. i have to go for ss or i'll cheat. so im trying for 3 weeks, then maybee ss+ in the run up to christmas. xxx

Hi Claira, nice to hear from you, good luck with your new start, i'm on week 2 of my new start, lost 5lbs this week so happy with that. On my weeks off the diet i haven't eaten many carbs and i think that has helped with the process of getting back into CD. xx

thanks jane, i have a problem with pasta and cheese. and not being able to say no, or enough. sometimes its little things like a slice of bread toasted with a poached egg and brown sauce. not major i know. but then i will feel bad for cheating and scoff a tub of icecream... i started cambridge when i was at a point where i felt enough was enough. and i think im feeling that again now. i am back to being obese instaed of overweight and i want that back. so hopefully i will do it. gonna have my second shake now. by the way your cdc was right, 64lb is really great and it will be another 64 b4 you know it xxx

Hi Claira, nice to hear from you. That sounds like a good plan so as you say take it one day at a time and see how you go xx.

Jane you look fab in your new profile pic xx.
