Cheekychinchilla's food and stuff

The book is fantastic! Tetris will disagree ;) But I loved it! The book is set AFTER the war and the reporter speaks to people who have survived and how they survived and you get to know stories from people all around the world. I have to say, the opening 'scene' from the book (probably the origin of the outbreak) has stayed with me!

I am sad about the film because there wasn't much of a link to the book at all - even the ending, how the humans survive, and the actual zombies are very different! And obv all my favourite stories were missed. They did miss a MASSIVE chance at some cool underwater stuff as well. Hrmph.

But yeah, if you liked the film I would recommend the book. Totally! There's a small, kinda side story book too that's worth getting if it's cheap :)

I keep referencing it, but if you've seen and read I Am Legend you'd see how it's quite similar how they've made it 'movie friendly'. I only read I Am Legend last year and at first I was a bit "wtf?!" But I have to say I enjoyed both the book and film immensely, even though they are vastly different too.

I can safely say it is one of my favourite books. And I don't even read horror lol! The closest I've gotten is teen horror by Darren Shan ;)

I'll stop raving now...

Omg I had to put my hands over my eyes at the opening part of the film :( :( ooo I wonder if its on kindle .. Sounds interesting ..
Usually books are better than the film like The hunger games , I thought the book was way better !! X

I've read quite a few books that have been made into films and as a rule the films are a pale imitation of the book, but like a fool curiosity always gets the better of me and I go and watch them lol. I love horror books, I was reading Stephen King and James Herbert when I was about 10. I read a lot chillers now, love Mo Hayder, Neil White, Lee Child and Peter May. But I will read anything apart from sci-fi, it bores me silly :( x x

The opening scene (or all of it :p) are nothing like the book. Although the beginning from the book was hinted at vaguely once they reached that first base.

I have no doubt it's on Kindle :)

I really don't read horror. I always feel like my imagination gets the better of me. Whereas horror films don't phase me at all. Odd isn't it?!

I'm reading a great series at the moment - The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombe. They're fantastic!

I can't read horror - I scare way too easily .. I read this book recently about people terrorised by their neighbours n I was anxious being home alone haha .... X

I can't read horror either. So I don't know why I liked World War Z so much. I think coz realistically, zombies don't scare me. Maybe. I dunno. But yeah, it was unusually for me to read that :)
I just found it interesting reading stories from around the world and how different people survived. It reads like an actual, real life event.

Anyway, I will stop now.
Going to watch an ep of Breaking Bad and then read for a bit in bed. Up at 8am to call the Dr's to see if I can see my original Dr. For some reason he doesn't do the morning walk-in surgery, you have to phone for him. If he hasn;t got anything I'll just go in and see the one I have been.
Night all.xx

Iv just downloaded it on my kindle - excited to read !!
Good luck at docs

Night hun xxx

Well done on plan again :D
World War Z talk... *backs away slowly* :D
I do find it outrageous that they are saying the film is based on the book :S was 28 days later also based on that book because it had zombies too?! Havent actually seen it yet but can tell from the trailer. Do want to see it though!
The book was more like a collection of related short stories though, it bugged me that there wasnt a more promiment narrative structure.

Find it funny that they plaster it all over book covers "now a major film!" and people re going to read it after seeing the film and be like "wtf? :s where is Brad Pitt?" lol!

I hope you enjoy it Ruby!

At least you know what I've been rambling about for months tho Tetris. Whether you liked the book or not you'll see the film and think "No one actually read that did they?!" lol

Dr's was ok this morning. Got an appointment with my original Doc. I feel so at ease with him and he's so sympathetic and always makes me smile.
My prolactin has dropped by 100. It's still above the range, but only by about 50. He said he wouldn't have bothered putting me through that test as as far as he's concerned as long as it's not 1000+ it's nothing to worry about and can be so changeable anyway.
I asked him for another week off work and he gave me two. I did try and argue but he said realistically they wont 'do' anything on Wednesday, it's just the first step. Which, yes, I know. But still *grumble grumble* He did say if I feel better I can go back and see him and he will change it - if I miraculously recover ;)
I'm just so worried about being off work :(

I finally asked about my x-rays (knees and hips) and there's nothing 'mechanically' wrong. So bones are fine. Obv cartilage and soft tissue wouldn't show up, so that's probably where the problem is. But I said, for now, the mystery illness needs solving and then we can look in to my disgusting, crunchy knees :)

Just found out some awful news from work! My friend's boyfriend (one who had a stroke) is back in hospital because they found some clots in his lungs!! She's said he has improved a bit since the weekend.
But one of the other nurses found her Mum dead in the street last night!! Tried to resuscitate her, but couldn't. I can't even begin to imagine what hell she is going through now :(
I honestly think that building is cursed!!

So now, of course, I feel even more guilty about being off

Oh god you've had a productive day :(

Don't you worry about being off work - no point in going back if your not right - you'll end up goin Off again & usually it's for longer .. Think about you :)

Xxx

I concur with Ruby, if you went back to work the way you are now you'd be no use to them and you'd make yourself worse. You need to sort yourself so you're fighting fit again.
I know its frustrating everything going on and you not being able to help but everyone will understand x x

I hope they are understanding though. Considering what everyone else is going through I feel utterly rubbish for being off :( Makes my problems look so insignificant :(

Anyway, mustn't dwell. Have done an hour or so of an assignment, but using the computer for so long and switching between the screen and books has set of my vertigo good style! Got 500 words done and another small section completed, so not too bad :) Must try and do small bits at a time so my time off isn't completely wasted.

But yeah, head needs a rest now, so cheerio for now.xx

I always say, no one can say anything about anyone's problems or illness because what's a major stress to you could be tiny to someone else ... Same with illness - what's a massive hindrance to you could be small to someone else - & vice versa .. so although ppl judge - they do it without seeing the bigger picture .. And so, have no right to judge!
Just focus on you - your team will understand, they cannot discriminate you.
Sadly people who do take the mic have ruined it for genuine people who are genuinely ill & make them feel how you do now when you blatantly need the time off. And as tace said, you wanna be in full working order before you go back :) xxxx

Thank you Ruby :) Very much appreciated. And you do speak muchos sense :bighug:

Well I've had a productive day. Dr's, shopping, watched 3 eps of Breaking Bad so far (;)), did an hour/500 words of an assignment, put Ramona & Ralph in the garden run for a couple of hours, cleaned both bunny runs, sorted out some washing, and now exhausted!
Oh and decided to try and resurrect my iPod Touch after it getting re-set at the Apple store to try and save its life. Have only put a tiny bit of music and a couple of pics on there. No apps or anything - hoping not overloading it will help keep it going for a bit longer. :cross:

Tea is a portion of ratatouille from the freezer with something Quorn and pasta. Nice and easy :) And syn free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

I do have bunnies. I have 4 :) All strays lol. I have Simon who's a little white Netherland and his Wife, Peggy, who's a big white lop. And Ralph is a ginger 'normal' English rabbit and his wife, Ramona, who's a harlequin 'normal'.
I also have 2 dogs, 3 chinchilla's, and a frog :D

I do like Lionheads, but they can be grumpy b*ggers! Males are usually a bit nicer lol.

I am just going to watch tv and maybe a film a bit later. Just booked a last minute appointment for my hairdresser to come round tomorrow for a colour and cut. Wanted it doing next week, but she's going away. Can't wait that long!!! And I've only got tomorrow free. Will have to borrow from myself - like a pay day loan but without the horrific interest :p
