Chelsea Lou - The Ventura adventure, not a sinking ship!

Yang,

Waz a ? I have a huge head (and thick hair) -- so, unless it is a ten gallon cowboy hat... it ain't gonna go on my head!

MM/Ying
Pillock. Olde English word meaning prat, moron, d**khead, idiot. Can be used as a term of endearment...."Oh you are a pillock" or as an insult..."You @&**!@! pillock"

Oh, now I feel like such a pillock! ;) Thanks. MM

If we were proper Ying and Yang we would pronounce it Pirrock.............no offence to any Chinese people on here......honest ;)

Love the dress Chels. Just BEAUTIFUL. You're going to look fab... so exciting!!!

Re: people thinking we look scrawny... bring it on, I say! Met one friend in 2009 after goal, who said 'no, no, stop now, you've gone too far...' in a slightly p***ed off way, I have photos of that weekend and I look fine, slim, but not scrawny in the least. (Don't think I have it in me to be scrawny, though ever aware of the face/arse dilemma!)

One friend in early 2009 got very angry as I lost weight, and began warning me that if I went on my 'bones would snap', all this while I was still well above a healthy BMI. She was very big herself and soon after I got to goal she picked a fight and dropped me over something so crazy it really, really hurt me. Other friends spelled it out at the time 'she can't stand that you lost the weight'. So for some people it really IS an issue, but THEIR issue I think.

I know your friend didn't mean anything bad, just adjusting to the new svelte Chels I suspect! You are going to ROCK that dress. And yes, you ARE the person we have described... who else? Yay Chelsea!

LOL, My son and I were just discussing the "r" for "l" and vice versa this evening. He was trying to tell me that my Vietnamese friend, L, does not do this. She does -- he is just used to it.

He "auto corrects" it when she does it.

I went to Uni with a lovely guy named Clay. His mother was Japanese. I used to think -- "Why would you give your child a name you can't pronouce?" She always called him "Cray".

He took Japanese (the uni had a foreign language requirement) and got a D. I asked him, "How'd you get a D? You grew up bilingual." He said, "Yeah, but I am illiterate and there are 10,000 characters in Japanese!" I think he switched to Spanish -- it was easier!

Chels, love the dress and the pink shoes.

Vertically challenged people tend to look like mushrooms when they wear big hats.
Great description. :8855:
I'm 5'3" so big hats are not a good idea for me.

Love the dress.

I think Katy might be on the right track about your friend, she's probably a little jealous that you are losing weight when she can't stick to a diet, and a little scared that you'll get to goal and she'll still be overweight.

Two people who I work with are both doing ww together and if one loses more they buy the other a cake to "reward" them, or if one "cheats" and buys a bacon barm etc at break they buy one for the other, they are both scared that the other will lose more weight. (they are both roughly the same height and weight)

That is absolutely mental!!!! I always thought it was a good idea to have a "weight loss buddy" but have experienced a similar thing, so apart from my DD Jess, who I absolutely know wouldn't undermine my weight loss attempts and neither would I hers, I have my wonderful support here. :D
Chels, love the dress and the pink shoes.

Glad you like the dress, however we will have to see how it looks on me  hopefully I will be able to do it justice. :)

KC, it makes you wonder doesn't it? Do these people want to be friends with you because you make them feel better about themselves when you are bigger? How can anyone get angry about their friend losing weight? Its a weird world out there hon.

I do love the dress and the way it moved on the model in the video. Must practice catwalking, as long as I don't do a 'Naomi Campbell' and fall a*$e over t*t flashing off me smalls :D:D

Day 49 - 7 weeks of CD

Good Saturday morning everyone :D Hope you are all doing good and have lots of lovely things planned for the weekend.

As promised, I went on my cycle ride this morning with DD2's future MIL. I haven't ridden my bike for about 3 years, maybe a bit more. I was a bit wobbly to start with and Bev decided to stop to tell me something and I had to hit the brakes so hard my back wheel shot up in the air. A women was in her driveway wetting herself with laughter......we all were. I looked like one of those stunt cyclists, just a much older version!!

Anyway, we had a lovely ride, all through woods, along a local river (Blackwater) avoiding lots of dogs that thought it was amusing to snap round legs. One dog motored towards me, swerving out of the way at the last second and I swear the blighter was smiling........owner was a bit of a dish though, so forgave doggie ;) Anyway, after a few miles Bev went her way and I carried on back towards home. The cycle route ends about 500 metres from where I live, so I dismounted and waited to cross the road. An old couple in their car stopped to let me cross...I went to walk forward and my legs just buckled lol. They were useless lumps of jelly and I must have looked so funny trying to walk.

Managed to get up two flights of stairs to get back indoors but feel great. It really blew away the cobwebs. Trouble is.................she wants to do it all again next Saturday :D

Off to take car to have a new tyre fitted in a mo. Not sure what I'm doing for the rest of the day. Maybe a bit of housework, ironing or just chill with the television.

Have a good one girlies xxx

Sounds like a great morning and think of all those calories burned and muscles toned!!! :)

So now you can tick it off your Beck plan for today!!

:checkmark green:Exercise!

Good morning chels just catching.. so much to read lol

I adore that dress very nice indeed..! a must have.

also i agree with what you said about people not always being happy to see you loosing weight. I exeperinced this too back in 2009 whne i got down to 10 stones.. i can laugh about it now.

I wouldnt even think about it.

hope you a good day x

That's crazy. Who needs a buddy like that! My SIL is doing CD too (it was thanks to her that l heard about it), like me she has struggled maintaining, but l can honestly say that l want her to succeed every bit as much as l do.

Well done on the bike ride. Hope you enjoy the rest of your Saturday. I'm off out shopping to New Look with DD, once she get's ready! Then off to Tesco's, while the rest of the family go to McDonalds nearby.

So impressed by the bike ride! WOW! I am useless and always falling off into hedges when a wood lorry trundles by... DD is plotting to take my bike to uni, so if i want to hang onto it I might have to drag it out and use it again. You will be recovered by next week, fear not!

Blackwater... this brought up a very distant memory for me. When I was 3 or 4 my Mum was getting over a miscarriage and needed some quiet time, and my lovely Dad took me away for a weekend with some friends, camping & sailing on Blackwater estuary. I was too little for it really but latched on to a girl of about 7 who i thought was so grown up, in that childish way you have! She had flip flops - the bog-standard, old fashioned orange-red & cream sort, and I was so smitten Dad bought me a pair and when we got home they turned out to be two left feet! I remember it well, but never really knew where Blackwater Estuary was... just a random memory, a happy one, from way back when.

Have a great day Chels... you have earned your relax!

That's exactly it Dis, wanting it for others as much as you want it for yourself. I am chuffed to mintballs when one of you ladies loses lbs. It makes my day and inspires me so much.

I hope you have a lovely time with DD and maybe you could pick up something nice for yourself from NL. I've got loads of their stuff, despite the fact that I am probably 100 years older than their typical customers....who cares. If I like it, I like it....do try to draw the line at looking 'too mutton' though :D

Take care honey xx

Lol, I feel your pain and disappointment, Katy. Hankering after those flip-flops and finding you had two left feet hahaha.

I'm sure your Blackwater wasn't the same as ours. Blackwater 'river' is little more than a stream and definitely no sailing going on. Nice though, lots of ducks and birds to observe along the way....plus doggies and their dishy daddies ;) Glad Blackwater brought back some lovely memories for you xxxx

Haha, I have to admit, when we set off, along the main road, I was very wobbly and was quite surprised not to find myself sitting on the white lines in the middle of the road lol.

I was very brave on the way home along the big main road, I did it all by myself, although it was on a very wide pavement that was both for pedestrians and cycles. I got into trouble when I had to get off at the end of the cycle route and suddenly developed blancmange for legs lol. Bambi on ice came to mind :D

Bet your Blackwater is the same one, just further inland... we were at wherever it flows into the sea. (It must do, somewhere!)

Bambi on ice

Most impressed... my version would have been Dumbo on ice, hence the reluctance to get on a bike unless I really really have to! It does strike me that it's a shame we are not all within striking distance though, could drag each other out for exercise purposes from time to time! My feeling inspired by your bike ride sadly does not stretch to actually following through the thought with a bike ride! And yes, have always had two left feet, so maybe Dad was right all along...

My Blackwater is on the borders of Surrey Hampshire and Berkshire.........nowhere near the sea, at the moment. Who knows with all the global warming and sea levels rising, we could all be sailing on it in the future

Can you imagine......a dozen women, all of various ages, shapes and sizes riding en masse whooping and giggling and quoting Beck slogans :D That would be a sight. Bl**dy good fun though. xxx

Lol. One day, Chels, one day!

Morning -- I mean AFTERNOON Yang,

I woke up so sore from Body Pump, that I decided to give the RC Zumba a miss this morning. Good thing, as you were really working it this a.m. -- so, I have been "motivating" (nagging) DD along on her project. She is doing some colouring atm.

Since you had the morning Fitness shift, I am going to go up to the base gym later to do some "planned exercise" on the treadmill, etc. I have not checked out the new equipment and need to do so. I am also going to sit in the sauna and enjoy (maybe read some Beck!).

Then, it will back here for some chores (perhaps), or if I have any energy I might ask my DH out to the cinema. DS has so much schoolwork he'll be in tonight, and "watch" DD.

MM
