Christmas present thread

How cute are these mini stockings?? 1385585478660.jpgthe apple is there to show the size... They were only 99p for both of them from poundstretchers :) I'm doing sweets and chocolate stockings for OH and son, these 2 mini ones are for my mum and dad, they are both diabetic so will only get a handful of things inside xx

I've got all my pressies except 1 nephew, we're going to see if we can buy some cricket stuff in Sri Lanka, otherwise I've no idea, I also need to get Bob a bit of something else just stocking filler stuff.

I did all my crackers last night & started the wrapping, my sisters jam pan arrived today, crikey it's huge, goodness knows how I'm going to manage taking that to her on the train!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, Michelle. Stop showing off just because you are ultra organised!! :D I've only sorted my partner's present out, so far and I did that weeks ago. Went for another doctor's note this morning and he asked if I wanted him to write on the bottom of it that I must be excused from all Christmas related shopping this year and, definitely, from writing Christmas cards! I must admit, it was a tempting offer! :) Seriously though, I normally love sorting things out for Christmas presents. In fact, I always fill an enormous sack for my daughter, even though she's now 26 but, as she says, it's more for my benefit than hers, as I love watching her unwrap things! They're not all expensive things but I just love buying her lots of stuff.
I'm really stuck for what to buy my son this year though, especially. He's 29 and interested in cars but, that's about it really. I'm forever buying him clothes (and he does say he needs them) but I think year after year it must be so boring. I hate giving him money, as I think it looks like no thought has gone into it so, if any of you lovely ladies have any brain-waves, they would be gratefully received. :)
Thanks!

Kathy xx

Thanks, Michelle. Feel slightly more organised today. Just been to the amazing farm shop near us and bought my weeks supply of meats (still can't believe they sell such quality food at such an incredibly low price!) and looked round the gift department too. Have just had a hamper made up for my partner's Mum. I chose all locally sourced things to put in it, including some Cheshire Apple Juice, which comes from a farm near where she lives, so that should please her. It looks amazing! Yesterday, I also ordered a Monty Don book for her from Amazon, that has rave reviews. She loves anything to do with him so, along with the hamper, I think she'll be thrilled with her present. :) I also ordered some horse related things from Amazon for my daughter so some of her present is sorted. It just makes you feel so much better to get things underway, doesn't it? I'm not normally so disorganised, it's just this illness that's got in the way this year.
Anyway, thanks for the ideas. xx

Has he done any if the racing days/car experience days Kathy?x

Yes, he's had those in the past, Emsie so I'm really stuck. He says don't bother, just buy for his girlfriend's little girl but I wouldn't dream of not getting my own son a Christmas present. I think men lose out usually anyway with presents because they're so hard to buy for and I hate buying boring things. Anyway, back to the drawing board but thanks for the idea, Emsie. Hope you're getting there with your Christmas shopping! :)

Just reading this thread makes me glad I only have to buy for 8 people, son +gf daughter+ bf,mum,3 nephews and 2dogs ;)

How about a little break for them both? Or a meal out or something?
Ive mot done any more actual shopping yet lol but at least got ideas x

Oh, yes! :) Brilliant idea, Emsie. They could do with a break away from the little one, even if it is just for the evening. Don't think I could run to a weekend away, as that is already part of the OH's present! Thanks so much though - great idea! I'll look into some good restaurants right away!! :D

Look on the buy a gift website or last minute - they have great deals for top restaurants and you could even throw in the offer of a babysitter as an extra 'prezzie'

Just a quick help for anyone getting presents! Gap have a 40% off everything online and free delivery today only. I've just got 3 gap hoodys for my nephews and brother for £46. The code is super deal if anyone wants to try it :) xx

As a stocking filler for my horse mad daughter, I've ordered a big, black decal of a rearing horse, which will look fab on her white bedroom wall. This is one pressie I'm really confident about! :)

Well I'm almost done!!

The list reads like this:

Husband

New coat H&M, a personalised bottle of port and cheese gift set, a bottle of Campo Viejo Gran Reserva, a Leffe Belgian beer gift set and a box of Lindt Lindor milk choc truffles.
Way over the £100 budget we set for each other but never mind, he's worth it :)

Dad

a Old Speckled Hen gift set, Grow your own chillies novelty gift and The World's End DVD between him and Mum

Mum

The World's End DVD between her and Dad, that's its so far for Mum, I'm really struggling to find something else for her...

Sister

Boyzone "BZ20" CD, box of Liquorice Allsorts and I'm sure I've got her something else but can't remember what!

And that just leaves the dogs...

Taking them to Pets at Home on Sunday to get new collars and leads, and some new toys :)

And that's me done!
Just got to pick up the bottle of wine for hubby tomorrow and find something for Mum and then got to wrap it all!

I have to get a secret santa gift £5 and syn free and for one of the younger SW girls, I am not that old but very out of touch, any ideas? Had decided on a scarf but they call me old fashioned so my taste in scarves will not work ! They are all fashionistas and early twenties, it will be a lucky dip as well so all I know is that it has to be for a female and syn free.

For my daughters teacher I have bought a small yankee candle and a holder. It cost £4.50 for the 2 items.
