I agree with Nat it is along day, but I know that the afterschool clubs are good for socialising (and it would only be as needed).

6am last year and it was practically empty. best time to go ever!

I went yesterday at lunch time to mine and it was surprisingly empty, but I am NOT paying 34 quid for a turkey crown for 4 people - pah!

for the first year I am making it from the butcher (god help me)

it's not that bad in ours. i usually just buy a preprepared joint of something in a tin thing that you just pop in the oven, then all the veg preprepared in tubs and packets etc

I am going to the supermarket tomorrow morning though. I cant hack supermarkets though, so I may have to take some valium before I go!

you could have shopped online but when i did mine saturday nearly all the slots had gone for tuesday and wed, thur, fri, sat had totally gone!

I know I do normally but likewise no slots which would guarantee a fresh turkey for the big day! So, we are doing battle tomorrow I think! Totally not doing anything friday - he'll no, unless hubby needs something doing!

A couple of years ago one of the guys who works for my DH, decided to do his wife a favour and toss the black rubbish bags that were in her van into the dumpsters. A few days later she asked where the black bags with all the kids Christmas gifts were! He went back and the dumpster had been emptied -- hundreds of pounds worth of clothes, electronics (ipods, etc.) in the dumpster!

So, as sad as a little a ham and brie mislaid might be... imagine how this poor guy suffered?!
