Coffeelovers Under 10lbs To Go

No alcohol for me this weekend. I've gained 3lbs! Not just through alcohol though but also, nuts, crisps, prawn crackers, vodka= no control on weekends.

Maybe if I start drinking every night I wouldn't go so crazy on the weekends. Think I'd better wait till I get closer to goal before I experiment with that one.

Back on track this week and exercising too. Working saturday and going to a girls night on saturday night and driving so will be easy.

Holland & Barrett stopped selling the super strength enzymes I bought last Spring, so had to get a lower dosage one, in fact it's a lot lower. They said they're wasn't the demand for it. I'll have a look around different supplement companies online and see if I can find something similar to the previous one.

Hope you all have a lovely evening. xx

Hi, hope all is well with you...did you resist the wine?

Hi Sandra and Sammy, yes I resisted the wine except for last night and I still didn't lose.

My stomach is suffering from all the muller lights- not a pleasant side effect lol. It's soo bloated. I've decided to do a low carb but higher than induction level. Maybe about 40-50 a day. The secret for me is planning.

I need to include lc tortillas, pittas, rolls etc. or I can't seem to stick to it. I'm floundering on every plan, but it's not the plans it's me! Today is day 1. xx

Well done for (mostly!) resisting the wine! You haven't much to lose, so I would think the higher starting carb level would be fine for you. And you've been doing this long enough to know what your "non-negotiables" are: for me it's 85% dark chocolate - if I'd forced myself to give that up, I know I wouldn't have been able to stick to this for as long as I have.

Good luck with what remains of Day 1! :D

Oh I agree with the choc thingy, but have to admit I also love my wine. I find it very difficult to find consistent carb counts for wine....what numbers do you use?

I love my wine too Sammy and vodka. Don't think there are any carbs in alcohol, it's just that your body will burn them first and slow down your weight loss. Plus after a few glasses of wine (prob just me) it's what the heck a few crisps, nuts etc and oops. My plan this weekend is, to only have a couple glasses on fri night and a few on saturday and none on sunday, don't know how this will work out but we'll see. No crisps whatsoever!!

Been fairly good today but feel like I overate at lunch and not enough veggies. just not hungry at all for dinner but may have a salad to upper my veg levels.

Morning Val, how was your weekend? I bet you are looking forward to seeing your boy again soon. Have a good day, any fireworks tonight?

Morning I hope you had a good weekend. I bet you are counting down the days til you see your son again

Hi Sandra, Sammy and everyone. Went to the neighbors for fireworks, where he lit them with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Thankfully no accidents silly man.

Didn't do very well on my diet (low carb) this weekend but only gained a lb. so motivated me to get right back on the wagon.

Just back from a nice big grocery shop. Craving prawns with walnuts for some strange reason so will have a stir fry for dinner with cabbage or shirataki noodles, prawns and walnuts.

Can not wait to see my lovely son, I'm counting the days and trying to bring Christmas forward may even break out the cds this week. Thank goodness for facetime I honestly don't know what I would do without it I miss him so much I get teary just thinking about seeing him at the airport.

Decided my foot hurts too much to start exercising today. xxx

Lol tmi to follow, just peeling dry skin off my feet last night and peeled off too much and it's very sore- ouch. Must get the foot file and moisturizer out.

Hi Val, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but whilst spirits have no carbs, wine definitely does. Can be difficult to track down how many, so I just use this site Low Carb UK -The definitive resource for people in the UK and Europe who are following a Low Carb Diet to get a ballpark figure. You're absolutely correct that the body will stop burning fat to burn the alcohol instead, so that's a double whammy if you're drinking wine! :(

I'd better stop being a killjoy :p and wish your poorly foot a speedy recovery - unless you're glad of the excuse not to exercise...I would be!:p;)

We could always follow Graham Norton's advice and do what he called the White Diet - you can eat or drink anything that's white - so vodka and gin are fine :D

Watch overdoing the feet there, sweetie - I'm lucky, I have a wonderful chiropodist come do my feet every six weeks (I'm practising for when I move into the old folks home) :)
