Constantly dizzy- back from the wilderness

My OH crashed the car yesterday coming home from work :cry:The car is an MX5 & normally really good and sticks to the road like glue. Seemingly the roundabout he came off at had a lot of cherry Blossom on the road & a massive downpour of rain, the back end just spun out and took him 180 and accross the road into the oncoming traffic
frown.gif

He had some stitches a few bruises & a headache, then this morning his back and neck were stiff.....but the car is 'really sick'.
I'm not great with cars but from what he said the front & rear passenger wheels have snapped off when he eventually ploughed into the pavement sideways, drive shaft at the back is broken, the disc brakes have shattered, the back wheel came off completely, the front passenger side wheel & something inside that it connects to? & something else on the body is smashed up, his brother said its pretty messy & he was lucky

The insurance tow people have taken it & will assess it on monday - then if its fixable will give us a courtesy car (I kind of hope its fixable it was my Birthday pressie that I've never driven yet

lol). I think he got away with his injuries really lightly! from the sounds of things
redface.gif
I'm just sooooo relieved he is ok
angel-smiley-002.gif
I was very stressed when I found out - he rang his mum from hosp & she came to tell me (he did consider texting me but thought it might freak me out....I cant hear phone calls & yes it would have freaked me out getting a text )

I could have quite easily eaten my own body weight in naughties last night :sigh: but I managed to somehow reign it in and have a couple of white options drinks (choc wouldnt have done the headache any good anyway).

so we are car-less & £500 excess to pay too  bummer eh.....still at least my OH is ok.......I shudder to think what might have happened if it was a wagon coming the other way & not just another car.

Oh Dizz, I'm glad you're ok, and he's mostly ok.

It's a real bummer about the car - but at least cars can be either fixed or replaced. OHs can't. So it's the right way round.

And Very Well Done for not reaching immediately for the naughties. You get mega Angel Points for that. And an extra shake of the pompoms!

Hugs to you!

This is true ....... He said this morning he realises just how close he came to being very seriously hurt (or killed ) its a VERY busy stretch of road straight of a country type bit onto some major road with Heavy traffic/wagons.

Stupid thing is he rarely takes the car to work....it was only because the guy who had the works van overnight rang in sick, and rather than mess about arranging to get a taxi up to his house to pickup the van at stupid o'clock in the morning he opted to use the car instead   - We just realised when he signed the tow mans sheet that it was Friday the 13th too :eek: Hes not going to work tomorrow as he needs to sort out the courtesy car & insurance....plus his back/neck is playing up still from the bump so I think the rest will do him good.

I'm on mission cupboard/freezer use up again today.
I think a green day is going to be easiest as Ive got plenty of things in that I can cobble meals together for I reckon. A macaroni cheese pasta bake (using pasta n sauce) is on the cards for tea I think 1 syn - if I split it with OH.....some frozen mushrooms, onions, peas, a 2 mad cows from HEA chucked in it & a few sw roasties should fill the plate up :p

So...... The car has just shy of £3000 damage done to it  including Labour costs. Its lucky that MX5s hold their value pretty well otherwise we could have been looking at a write off in another car on a 53 plate.....which would also mean we would have automatically had the insurance cancelled (and because we paid a year upfront last month we would have been out of pocket there too :()

The insurance were being painful re only replacing the 2 passenger side alloys that sheered off in the accident......BUT they couldnt match them with the originals - so we would have 2 sides of the car looking odd  so we have also had to pay out to have the alloys replaced on the OTHER side to match  but my OH found some on an Internet site (the insurance were allowing £130 per wheel=£260) these were reduced from £580 for the set to £330.....so we only had to put £70 towards it plus the fitting costs of £15 per wheel.....not brilliant but at least the car will look better than they would have left it!! (plus these wheels are way nicer than what we had on anyway lol)

So we have a silly Nissan Micra courtesy car now, It looks like Noddy should be driving it :p we also have pay £500 excess, £70 wheels+£25 delivery £15x2 for fitting when the car is ready :eek::eek:

Thats put a dent in the holiday fund

Ive got raging PMT, I'm sooooo bloated.... and I'm grumpy :sigh: I KNOW I'm up for a gain on the scales this week....I almost always do when I'm due on, but I feel especially FAT today

Oh huni!! You really sound fed up!!! I'll start dancing for you now so that's the WI sorted :)

Sorry about all the car stuff hun, it really is awful!!! Its horrible that these things cost so much to fix!!

Im sure you look great in the micra tho!! :) xx

Wow Dizzy, I'm glad Mr Dizz is ok, sounds scary!

Well done on your loss. Sorry I haven't been on for a while, just catching up. You sound like you are doing well so I'm cheering you on to that next shiney!

PMT is a killer though isn't it?- I always feeling starving and in need of carbs. Hope the car repair isn't too expensive :( but at least Mr Dizzy is fine. xxx

I'm shaking them thar namby pambies for you today, Dizz.
PMT can't hold out against them when they really get going!

Sorry for the update delay..... Mega bad Migraine attack

2lb ON :eek::mad: effing * week :mad:

I reallllly reallllly honestly havent been stuffing bad syns and things  Ive stuck to plan. and stayed under 10 syns a day even though Ive been craving.

I KNOW i always gain something on *week but not usually so much!!!!!!

Now I'm wondering if doing so many green days is not so good for me? (remember I couldnt get to the shops so I've been using up the cupboards) Pasta sauces, JP & Beans, Ive been Having a WM roll every day too as a HEB?? maybe bread is not agreeing with me?? Im still eating fruit....but not getting much veggies.

HEEEELLLLP is it just my * week:cry: or do I stay away from greens?

Oh wise and wonderful target people I need advice :wave_cry:

I think the only way to check, Dizz, is to do a similar green week when you're not raddled with PMT, and see whether it's ok then.

There's no real reason why you should gain, when you stick to the plan. But we know we're all individuals, and react to some foods better than others. I know I can have bread only a couple of times a week, for really good losses; some people can eat it all the time, or not at all. Other people swear by a fishy week to turn things right round; for me I get minimal losses that way.

So I'm afraid only you can really know what works for you!
But keep at it. I'll start the dancing and pompom-hurling really early, and you'll lose that gain - and more.

Thanks Jimbob, I felt like coming home and having a mega blowout last night .......Lord knows my hormones were making me mad enough to do it!!!! I stuck to 2 penguin wafers & a options drink though and hid in the bedroom away from the fridge

I am going to maybe cut the bread out anyway I think this week.....I always felt bloated pre sw on bread (but it was white bread then) and try get some veggies this week as well as fruit...Ive just kindof got stuck in a rut with not shopping then the PMT thing.

I've just sat and eaten a whole bag of satsumas ....... would rather have had a chocolate orange - But I'm trying to resist the food fairies! Gawd I wish *week would make an appearance and then my mood would alter :eek:

Oh the car ....... the repairers have rung OH today to report yet more damage to the suspension system which needs further parts so we are going to be driving this 'NODDY MOBILE' for at least another week

That is pants on a massive scale. Sorry to hear about your very unfair gain Dizz. At least with my slipping out of target range, I have no one to blame but myself!

I agree with JoT and you can only really find out if Green is the problem if you do the same on a non-hormonal week.

Maybe try a no bread (and dare I say it) Scan Bran week, and see what happens?

xxx

Thanks Kirst *hugs*
